Personale professionale, accoglienza eccellente, camera ordinata, grande e pulita, vista su uno scorcio di napoli unico, servizi cinque stelle, possibilità di guide ed attrazioni, parcheggio convenzionato comodissimo, in poche parole consigliatissimo!
From previous experience in the Chiaia area, and from this trip’s observations, I wouldn’t hesitate to say that this is easily the best hotel along Via Partenope. I’ve stayed in the Continental in the past (a dismal experience), so I didn’t have very high expectations for the Santa Lucia. Boy, was I surprised! The location, first of all, is to die for: right across the street from Castel del Ovo, with a view of the marina, and from your balcony if you have one, of Vesuvius as well. With the windows open, it’s quite noisy from the crowds on the street below (soundproofed windows fix this when they’re closed), but the breeze is delicious – the one fault I have with this hotel is the lack of climate control in your room, as they only turn the A/C on during the summer, and I was there at the end of May. However, even with the temperature in the 80s, the room stayed cool, and with the sound-proofed windows closed, you could hardly hear the traffic or crowds outside. Indeed, it seemed a cocoon of sorts from the typical bustle and honking noise of the city. The king bed was super comfortable. The marble floors and bathroom were very nice, almost luxurious – which is saying something for Naples – and there was a mini-fridge, electric plugs above the nightstands, automatic window shades, and good water pressure. The breakfast was better than most in Napoli, as they had bacon and eggs every morning as well as an assortment of cheese, fruit and breads. Down the street was every restaurant you could ask for, all with views of the water and castle, and there is a taxi stand right outside the building. The staff of the Santa Lucia were perhaps a bit stand-off-ish, but adequate, and the room was not as big as I was hoping, but I don’t think you could do better in Napoli, not right on the water anyway. I was sad to leave this hotel, as it was truly comfortable even after a five night stay. If you go to Napoli, stay here!…
On y retournera.
Staff veramente cordiale e disponibile! Super consigliato!
