We are glad to give you the warmest welcome as our guests into Palazzo Sisto Riario Sforza. Here, in the heart of Naples old town within inches of Santa Chiara Church with its Cloister, the Veiled Christ and Via San Gregorio Armeno was born, in 2008, our Hotel. The Decumani Hotel de Charme was originally built during the 17th century and belonged to Sisto Riario Sforza, the last Archbishop of Naples in the Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Sicilies of which Naples was the capital. In 2008 we embarked on a major refurbishment programme for the second floor, where the Hotel is placed. The hotel has now been fully restored and equipping with all the modern conveniences our guests expect. A wide lounge, decorated with golden stuccoes and mirrors, testifies the illustrious past of this residence. All of our 22 bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and feature the following: soundproof windows, flat screen Television with international channels, safe, minibar, direct dial telephone and hairdryer. The Decumani Hotel de Charme is located in the Decumani, in the heart of the old town originally a Greek "polis" and then a Roman "urbs", an area wich represents with its squares, streets and alleys, a unique historical, cultural and artistic heritage, as it is testified by the acknowledgment of Unesco, which in 1995 declared the historic centre of Naples " the biggest open-air museum in the world".

Decumani Hotel de Charme delights guests with its extensive breakfast options and the quaint charm of its common areas, though the snug room size and air conditioning have drawn some criticism. The hotel's atmosphere, enriched by antique furnishings, is frequently commended, even as a few find the decor in certain areas lacking. The staff's amiability is a highlight, although their response times have room for improvement. Nestled in a historic district, the hotel's location is prime, despite occasional noise and safety remarks from some visitors.

Location = excellent. It is in a calmer place and close to the historical center
Room = great! Confortable, with mini bar, nice shower pressure, slippers and very good environmental policy
Wifi = excellent
Breakfast = this is the only bad point to me: the breakfast is very good but the hotel’s system to have someone serve you the food is stressful and uncomfortable, for guests and for the girls serving. This morning was a great example, a couple was in a rush but they had to wait their turn to be served, it was stressful for them but for the other guests too and for the girls serving, who were very strict with the rules. It’s not the girls fault, they are obliged to be very strict and it is uncomfortable for everyone. The hotel should impose the desinfection of hands, the mask and disposable gloves maybe and let customers be free. Otherwise, provide a questionnaire to guests the night before so that they can choose what they want and anticipate.

Otherwise, the hotel is great and we can highly recommend it !

Wasn't sure what to expect from the outside.
A modern clean friendly quiet hotel right in the centre.
Accomodating staff - always ready and willing to help
Because of the Covid situation the breakfast room was not open but breakfast is served in your room.
No hesitation to recommend!!!

The hotel is centrally located. Almost everything is within a 20-25 minute easy walk. If you need a taxi, the staff helps find one and negotiates a good price with the driver. Our room and bath were very clean. When we needed a couple of things, the staff responded quickly and kindly. The morning breakfast was nice, and we especially loved Bibiana who quietly sang as she worked. The breakfast room is beautiful, and the hotel is full of lovely antiques. I would not say this is a super fancy hotel, but it was extremely quiet and comfortable. We especially thank the front desk staff who helped us find a valid place for our required covid test, good nearby restaurants, hours of museums, etc. we would stay here again.

My girlfriend and I came to Naples for 4 days for both work and pleasure. We loved everything about Decumani: the staff was welcoming, communicative and attentive. The room was clean, with high ceilings, very spacious, classy trim and ornate furnishings. There was lots of closet and storage space. The bed lights were perfect for nighttime reading before bed. There was a small refrigerator which is something I need for a small amount of daily groceries and snacks. The shower and jacuzzi bath tub had great water pressure and space. The location was literally perfect in the center of all of the action. The complimentary breakfast was just lovely with healthy options and a beautifully elegant dining hall. 4 days was not nearly enough time in Naples and with the inevitability of visiting again, I will 100% stay with Decumani again and last big thank you to the staff and management for their hospitality.

This really is a charming place. You can feel the history of the building, in particular when having breakfast in the old room.

The Decumani hotel is located right in the middle of downtown. We enjoyed the lively neighborhood in the evening with plenty of bars. Walking to the Capri ferry terminal is fine in general, it took us 15 mins, but the cobblestones are a bit annoying for the suitcases, therefore a taxi for approx 10 Euro might be the better option.

The hotel is very clean, the bed comfortable and the staff very helpful.

This hotel is very conveniently located, though it may not seem so at first if you are new to Naples. The neighbourhood is near the university and so there are a lot of students and student hang outs, however it is easy walking distance to almost all the sites in Naples and close to transportation for those that are a little further away. The hotel is in an old palace and you can tell when you are in your room because the ceilings are incredibly high! Our room had a small shared balcony that had excellent sound proofing from the noise of the alley below. The bathroom was well appointed. The room had a mini-bar and a decent size closet. The lobby is small but there were lots of areas to gather in other areas of the hotel. The breakfast is very large and has eggs and bacon which we didn't see at many other hotels in Italy. It also has a very large variety of pastries, juices, yogurts, fruits, and of course coffee and tea. The breakfast room itself is gorgeous. If you are touring any of the old Naples sights, I would recommend this hotel.

Tucked into the bustling heart of Naples' historic center, the Decumani Hotel offers quiet, comfort and elegance in beautifully furnished rooms. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful, a great start to days of exploring the ancient ruins and modern chaos of Campania. The university on the plaza nearby brings a flood of student street partying on weekend nights, but we couldn't hear the happy roar in our room. It's a perfect location and lovely place to stay.

IF (and only if) you can get yourself a room that DOESN'T overlook via San Giovanni Maggiore Pignatelli, then I would thoroughly recommend Decumani Hotel de Charme. It's in a great location in the historic centre; the staff are pleasant and helpful; the breakfast hall is wonderful, and the breakfast options varied and to suit all tastes. Our room and bathroom were immaculately clean, well-appointed, and had everything we needed. The night we arrived, a Thursday in January, I thought it was about perfect. On Friday night, I changed my mind. At about 10pm on Friday (and Saturday) a small bar opens immediately opposite the hotel. During the day you would never know that bar was there at all. The bar must be very popular; even on a chilly January night, there were tables and chairs in the street outside, and, of course, many, many people. They were happy, cheerful people having a great time and they had that great time until about 3am. I cannot sleep with noise, so I wasn't a happy cheerful person at all.
Whilst the noise is not the fault of the hotel, I do think the hotel could do one or two things to cut down on the impact. (In our room it would have been perfectly possible to install secondary glazing or internal doors before the external doors to the juliet balcony.)
The noise is obviously a problem they are aware of as, when I wearily went downstairs to ask what time the noise might stop, I was given some earplugs from a large collection which they kept in a drawer in reception, suggesting I wasn't the first person to be affected. This is such a shame as otherwise it was a lovely hotel.

I loved this hotel. Well run, clean, comfortable and quiet. Traditional atmosphere with lots of antiques. Excellent breakfast. I particularly liked the comfortable sitting areas outside the rooms. The management has taken large interior spaces and furnished them with couches creating nice places to sit and read. The location is ideal for sightseeing on foot. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Area may look a bit rough primarily because of the graffiti, but it isn’t. We are an elderly couple and walked around in the evening as well as during day and never felt unsafe.

You can get to the hotel with a five-minute walk. Taxi service: The taxi from the railway station is charged on a flat fee of 9€ (day & night). When we travelled to Naples, we just took a taxi from the train station. The hotel is in a part of town that has extremely narrow streets - we had to walk the last 50 yards or so but it was no hardship. You are close to everything - the main pedestrian street is about 150 yards away. Hope you enjoy Naples!

Dear Sir, Thanks to write us. We have a lot of chances to get the hotel. You could catch a taxi from the airport wich has a prefixed rate from there to the hotel. It costs around 19,00 euros. The second chance, you could catch the alibus wich cost 4,00 per person. you should stop to Molo Beverello and from there you could walk from the port to the hotel. We suggest you to choose the taxi, is the best way to get the hotel. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if you have any further question. Best Regards
