Ideally located in the heart of the old historic part of Naples. Our room opened on to the roof patio - the only one to do so - the other access being from the corridor. So no view of the narrow lanes but a nice relaxing sitting chill out area. The air con as reported by others was only turned... More

Recently stayed here with my wife, two kids and father, really lovely hotel right in the heart of the historic old part of Naples. Staff were really friendly and room was decent. Small balcony overlooking the narrow streets was welcome. Breakfast in the beautiful dining room was lovely. Rooms were decent size and bright and airy, you have to ask... More

Very friendly staff. Central location. Beautiful historic palazzo. If you want an elegant hotel in the buzzy historic centre I would strongly recommend this hotel. We had a room on the second floor (piano nobile). The breakfast room is palatial. Very good breakfast selection including sfogliatelle. Quiet street with very few cars. Very safe. Short walk to Via San Biagio... More

Just back from a 2 night stay at this hotel and couldn't be more disappointed. We saw the reception staff be very rude to 2 guests wanting more pillows, rolling their eyes behind their backs and a housekeeper muttering obscenities under her breath as she got into the elevator with us about a German family. The aircon didn't go below... More

We spent just 3 nights in the Decumani - and found it lovely. We had a good large room - with ample facilities. The hotel is well situated in the historic centre of Naples and has a real grandeur. The dining room is wonderful, thebreakfast menu is good and the staff are very helpful

Situated a couple of stops from Piazza Garibaldi on the metro in a quiet street on the edge of the historic centre, this a great base for exploring old Naples. It's converted from a palace by adding lots of new walls and false ceilings and much of the character of the building has been lost. However, the dining room is... More

We stayed for two nights arriving from the UK at dusk at catching the Alibus to the port. From there it was a 12 minute walk dragging suitcases to the hotel using google maps in the dark, uneven pavements but no problem. The Hotel has a great location as we used the hop on/off bus tours to see the city,... More

I don't really now how this hotel has such nice reviews. First, the good: the building is beautiful and it certainly has loads of potential. The breakfast room is amazing. It's like going back in time. Now, the bad. The rooms are very poorly designed and decorated. My room on the first floor has huge but had nothing in it.... More

The hotel room is not that bad. Breakfast quality is very poor. In addition there was not enough options to eat. No cheese, no good butter, no good coffee. The location is frightening. I really don't recommend the hotel especially for the families.

I am not sure how this hotel gets such positive reviews. I was mislead and chose this hotel based on positive reviews. The moment I saw the hotel lobby I knew I got wrong expectations. I was more shocked when I saw my room #209 which was very dark with half window. I had to stay there one night and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
We are glad to give you the warmest welcome as our guests into Palazzo Sisto Riario Sforza. Here, in the heart of Naples old town within inches of Santa Chiara Church with its Cloister, the Veiled Christ and Via San Gregorio Armeno was born, in 2008, our Hotel. The Decumani Hotel de Charme was originally built during the 17th century and belonged to Sisto Riario Sforza, the last Archbishop of Naples in the Bourbon Kingdom of the Two Sicilies of which Naples was the capital. In 2008 we embarked on a major refurbishment programme for the second floor, where the Hotel is placed. The hotel has now been fully restored and equipping with all the modern conveniences our guests expect. A wide lounge, decorated with golden stuccoes and mirrors, testifies the illustrious past of this residence. All of our 22 bedrooms are fully air-conditioned and feature the following: soundproof windows, flat screen Television with international channels, safe, minibar, direct dial telephone and hairdryer. The Decumani Hotel de Charme is located in the Decumani, in the heart of the old town originally a Greek "polis" and then a Roman "urbs", an area wich represents with its squares, streets and alleys, a unique historical, cultural and artistic heritage, as it is testified by the acknowledgment of Unesco, which in 1995 declared the historic centre of Naples " the biggest open-air museum in the world". ... more   less
