Some places hold a very special type of fascination. Almost always they are places of indescribable beauty, because what ever words you choose will fail to convey the sensations aroused in you. This is what we are proposing, a unique luxury place in Capri and daring design, sculpted out of the rock face, where no two rooms are the same and where nature reigns supreme in a natural setting where space has created a stronghold of incomparable beauty where emotions constantly surprise and delight.

The Hotel Punta Tragara enjoys a magnificent position on a cliff at the tip of the Punta Tragara peninsula. Our room had a wraparound balcony with an unobstructed view of I Faraglioni and the sea. Sitting on this balcony, after a vigorous day of sight-seeing, with a glass of wine in hand, was like a dream. The hotel, designed by Le Corbusier, has a quirky layout; seemingly every room is different. We paid for only a deluxe sea view room but still got a separate seating area, a huge bathroom, and a large closet. Service is excellent. It’s a small hotel, so everyone recognizes you. Breakfast is served in an impressive, light-filled space (the same as the Le Monzú restaurant), and the breakfast offerings are ample. The hotel is a twenty-minute walk from Capri Town, but the walk is so beautiful that’s not a drawback. Yes, the Punta Tragara is expensive, but if you’re ever going to splurge, this is the place to do it.

I am pretty picky when it comes to luxury hotels ... or hotels, in general. And I can honestly say that this was one of my top 10 hotel experiences ever ... and there have been a lot. Mr. Federico, the GM and his staff were fantastic hosts and made us feel like royalty during our 48 hour stay. Most of the staff have worked at the hotel for a long time, so they are knowledgeable about not only the hotel, but Capri itself. We were assigned a room with a beautiful, completely private patio overlooking the pool, outdoor bar and ocean/mountain in the background. It was stunning ... like something out of a movie. We thought this was the best view in the property because you can see the town and the ocean/mountain in the distance. The other side has unobstructed views of the blue sea and the two big rocks, so it may be more preferred for some. These rooms will also be quieter and a bit more private, if you are sensitive to bar/pool music and noise, which you get on the pool side, however we enjoyed our view better and being able to walk directly down stairs to the pools was nice. The shower was luxurious marble and had a wonderful rain shower and large sink. Plenty of storage space and high quality towels. Slippers and bathrobes are provided and it might have been the most comfortable robe I've ever worn. The bed was a bit firm for my liking but my gf liked it as she prefers a firmer mattress. Feather pillows were soft and there was no noise from other rooms. The room design itself might be called a bit sterile ... but in a classy/modern way. It felt like a resort in Arizona to me, but fans of minimalist style will embrace it as clean and crisp design. If you want bright and vibrant colors, you won't find them ... its more of a neutral/classy vibe. The function was great ... a big closet where you can store your bags and clothes, out of the way of your room living space and a small seating area. The patio was the star of the room and where we spent the most time. It's a short walk to downtown. You will take an absolutely beautiful street lined with flowers, resorts and designer stores. Plenty of ability to explore the area too. We walked to Villa Jova (Roman ruins) one day, only to find it closed. However, there is an outdoor bar on the way back called Bar Jova. It's a bit of a hike from the hotel & downtown area but through cool residential streets with beautiful estates. The bar itself has stunning ocean panderamic views and cheap drinks. On the way back is a local grocery store called Salumeria Barbone which makes great sandwiches and has local cheese. While there are many gelato shops in town, the best is Buonocore. Long lines later in the day ... they also have wonderful pastries, etc. We ate most of our meals at the hotel. The only thing we did not enjoy at the hotel was the restaurant Monzu. It has a Michelin star but out of the 5 courses included in our menu, we did not enjoy even one and the meal took nearly 3 hours. (Nor did other guests we spoke with). The restaurant near the pool was much better and the staff and food was great there. Their bar was well-stocked. Over 150 gin brands and even Blanton's Bourbon! Everything else about the hotel was absolutely perfect! If you want true 5-star service, a friendly staff who can get you the best restaurant recommendations and insider tips and world class surroundings, I cannot imagine any other hotel in Capri being better. We would not stay anywhere else (and we passed several nearby hotels and peeked in) when in Capri. Every request was met with a smile at Punta Tragara and here you will find the 5-star service of the past, along with a modern luxury vibe of today. Everything is spotless and clean and the hotel surroundings are straight out of a movie about Italy. We will be back!

My stay at Punta Tragara left me disappointed although the hotel is ideally located and the view is amazing from most (but not all) rooms. This is is the kind of place that may be worth it if you opt for a suite and don’t mind the inflated prices… For over 1000€ per night I expected true luxury, and didn’t get it. Our first room (Deluxe) had a rather nice view but was on a lower floor and close to the place where tourists gather to look at the view…and we had noise all day until late in the evening… Also, since it was located on one of the lower floors, we had noise everytime guests above us used their bathroom…quite unpleasant in a luxury hotel. One of the electric plugs was faulty and the TV would not work, an electrician was sent to our room to take care of it, but again it’s not what you expect from such an expensive place. On the second day we half a lot of noise from another room (loud music), not the hotel’s fault and they agreed to move us to another room. The next room (Master deluxe room) was better located on one of the top floors, with a larger terrace and better view. Unfortunately the room itself lacked any personnality…it didn’t feel like Capri at all. As for the service, it’s very professional but nothing special for such an expensive place. All in all, yes it’s a beautiful place, but soulless, and it’s not worth the price (1300€ per night for a sea view room with a small terrace !)

We had visited as part of our honeymoon in September 19. It’s a very iconic hotel with a glamorous history, charming with a chic entrance hall and modernised comfortable rooms. We had a balcony with outdoor seating overlooking the pool. The sense and energy was very relaxed, low key, with lots of trees and greenery adding to the sense of privacy. The breakfast setting by the pool was spectacular, overlooking the ocean, and the food very good, with a vast and delicious selection. I do find the mornings particular captivating in Capri. The walk to the hotel from Capri town is very pretty, lined with flowers and citrus fruit trees, and takes you past several trendy high end restaurants. Conveniently the hotel sits somewhat above Da Luigi ai Faraglioni, it is quite a climb down (and back up) in the heat but the views are dramatic and spectacular. It was my second visit back to Capri and it’s as charming and timeless as I remember. It is priced accordingly!

Gili Beauty Spa is a must visit when in Capri! The spa is located inside Punta Tragara Hotel, a 5-star hotel in Capri. My wife and I visited the spa twice for relaxing massages while on our honeymoon. We had a wonderful experience. The staff was extremely kind and attentive, and it was evident they truly cared about our health and wellness. Will absolutely visit again!

Will echo what everybody else has said - an absolutely superb hotel. Every single service experience was excellent. We had the cheapest room (not cheap) and it was so nice we assumed it was an upgrade - an amazing view of the gardens and sea in the background. My only recommendation - I thought there was more of a linkage with the beach club La Fontelina that's beneath the property. They are *not* linked, and last minute they had no availability - we would've definitely reserved if we knew, kind of wish the hotel had brought that up. We used the concierge for setting up other things, and the private boat tour they used was absolutely exquisite. The restaurants they picked were duds unfortunately, might want to select those yourself (it's tough on Capri, dining is fairly disappointing on the whole, but there are some solid ones if you really hunt and ask people). Overall a simply spectacular hotel with incredible views, and nicely far away from the main area. The heated pool is perfect if you're coming earlier in the season, very refreshing.

We arrived at the hotel in October for my fiancé’s 50th Birthday. The reception is classy, clean and staff are welcoming. We were served with a complimentary lemon drink and then shown to our room. We were also given a Capri cake to welcome us to the hotel. Room 55 was a new room and it was amazing. It definitely has the wow factor with views of the famous faraglioni rocks. The area lunch is served has comfy sun loungers and other seating area. There is 2 pools and one is heated. Drinks are pricey but when you are staying somewhere like this it reflects the venue. They have a range of Gin’s and the bar attendant came to you and served your drink. The music met my taste of music listening to Sade and other smooth classics. At breakfast we were given the option of the buffet or something from the kitchen. Food was amazing and the pastries were fresh. The only things to be aware of is the pigeons at lunch and wasps but the staff help with using a smoking pot to keep them out of the way. In Capri you need to take mosquito sprays and ointments because it’s an island there is a lot and they are quite vicious. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to visit again soon.

I've just returned from a 4 night stay at Punta Tragara. It was supposed to be 3 nights but we didn't want to leave. This hotel is amazing! Food, staff, service, attention to detail, rooms, views, amenities, everything. It's a bit of a walk to get there, but the hotel will take care of taking your luggage and it is well worth the effort. Thank you so much for such an amazing stay - we will be back for sure

We stay at the Monacone suite with stunning views on the gulf of Napoli. The suite was huge: -One large bathroom with spectacular sea views -A small bathroom -A large living room with picturesque sea view -A large sleeping room with a breathtaking bay view -An unforgettable terrace looking the gulf and the Faraglioni (Stella Mezzo Scopolo) The service was excellent as always in Italia. We had amazing dinner surprise:"A journey into the chef's cuisine".A tasting menu of nine courses chosen by the one star Michelin chef Luigi Lionetti. The chef has been working at the hotel for 13 years. All the recipes was wonderful except for the Amberjack fish cooking. The chef's welcome sea urchin dish sensational .The cuttlefish sea urchin and green apple with caviar sublime as the cappelletti pasta fill with Parmigiano di latte di vacche Rosse, local lobsters medallions and it's cold broth, black summer truffle. The lemon scampi risotto with burrata seaweed and capers a dream come true equal with the deeply savory tuna puttanesca tomato pistachio creamy liquid sorbet... The desserts was divine : -The nest with chocolate egg mango passion fruit with cheese cream -the lemon sphere with almond milk basil gel We had some great talk with the chef and the exceptional staff. Thank you so much, you rock.Cheers.

We stayed here in October of 2019 for my 60th birthday. Honestly it was so splendid. Everything. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The accommodations were to die for. We had a beautiful suite with an amazing terrace overlooking the Faraglioni Rocks. This hotel sits atop a very high cliff overlooking the ocean and the view from every part of the hotel is magnificent. La Fontelina Beach Club sits at the bottom of the cliff. It's one of the most exquisite places I've ever been. It's a bit of a stroll from the hub-bub of Capri, which is why we booked it. We don't like crowds. So we would hang out at the hotel, or the beach club below, our out on a boat all day to avoid the crowds. And then of course Capri is magical at night after all the cruise ship and ferry-over folks leave. I loved this sooooooo much more than the Amalfi coast. That' was way too crowded. Although our hotel on Amalfi was gorgeous with an amazing suite, there were just to dang many people to even enjoy it. The staff at this hotel was excellent. I was planning to return in 2020, but then...ugh. I am looking forward to a return here. And Tuscany!
