This hotel is oh so good. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The location is fantastic and the shuttle service makes it more so. Facilities are really good and never feel crowded. We asked to change to a different room, more for personal preference, not a problem and it was exactly what we wanted. Breakfast is fab. Massages some of the best we have had. I would recommend this hotel and yes I plan on coming back. We loved it. Staff are a real credit.

We had an amazing first leg of our honeymoon at villa marina. The hotel has lively views warm and attentive staff, delicious food in the restaurant and at breakfast. The pool and spa area was immaculate. We also loved the super trendy shuttle! Highly recommended!

The views are amazing and the staff wonderful, but the restaurant may be the best we have ever visited! As we walked to dinner through the amazing garden, overlooking the Bay of Naples, lit up with beautiful yachts close to Capri, we were met by a wonderful lady named Elonora. She asked our names and then took us through the garden to the restaurant, with an unobstructed view of the harbor. The service was very relaxed and yet very quick. The meal may have been the best I have ever had away from home. if it was not, I cannot remember any better. Amazing presentations, drinks and the desert was indescribable. No need for me to give details of my choices because it appeared everyone there was having a similar experience. The Hotel was a great find by our travel agent, and we recommend it with highest marks.

My husband and I spent an incredible weekend in Villa Marina Capri beginning of August 2021. The whole experience was unforgettable! Coming to the island we were welcomed by super polite and friendly driver who took us to Villa. Villa is situated in the middle of the village not far from the port but also very close to Capri downtown. The resort is beautiful with lots of flowers, stunning gardens with seating areas and breathtaking view. Very Romantic! It looks exactly like you can see on the postcards. Staff is incredibly friendly, polite and helpful always on your service. All indoor areas are quite, clean with an amazing scent. Beautiful suites with huge balconies and your own private jacuzzi. Breakfast buffet in the morning was such a pleasure, situated in one of the gardens with the sea view and fresh breeze. While there we did a boat tour along Amalfi coast. The tour was organized by the Resort staff. Big beautiful boat, very friendly and experienced crew. Amazing experience and incredibly tasty food along the way. Amazing work Villa Marina. Thank you! We’ll be back for sure.

My wife and I stayed at Villa Marina for two nights. Beautiful boutique hotel, with friendly staff and unparalleled views of Capri and the Naples Bay. The hotel team helped set up a boat tour around the island and the Amalfi Coast, we highly recommended it as a perfect day activity. We left Capri with lifelong memories and cannot wait to come back!

Do not be fooled by the photos of this place. Our room is a rat hole. I will post photos. We booked a suite on Amex travel webpage, when we arrived we were put into a room that fits behind the stairs. View of a rock wall(photo attached) Manager and everyone at the hotel says they want to help but do not do one single thing to help get us out of a room that literally makes me feel so sick and claustrophobic. Every time I call downstairs they keep telling me to wait for them to call me back. Which they do 1/17 calls. To make matters worse I have a bad knee and this room has stairs. It was never disclosed on Amex travel NOR on their hotel website that rooms have stairs. Imagine going up and down dark stairs at night when you need to go to the bathroom (which happens to be downstairs and not upstairs next to the bedroom). As I type this all I hear is music from my obnoxious neighbor who all night has either been playing music extremely loudly or engaging in other very loud activities with his partner of whom we can clearly hear is having a great time!!! Again management does NOTHING. There is a tiny mirror in the bathroom not even a full length mirror to see what your outfit looks like. I have to leave my makeup on the table in the living room and go back and forth in the bathroom because these geniuses opted to have a large sink in the bathroom instead of a functional space. Also ants are everywhere!!!!! I washed my face in the morning and grabbed a towel to dry my face only to find any bodies all over my face. When I looked at the towel I wanted to throw up because I had just rubbed that towel all over me. For over 2000 American dollars a night I would expect a touch of class and sophistication. I feel like I’m staying in a dirty prison cell with guards who could care less. Sincerely, Weber room and want to die

Since our mission and deepest desire is to make all our guests happy, the moment you expressed your dissatisfaction with your suite we offered you options to make you feel comfortable. As the hotel was fully booked when you arrived and no other room or suite was available, we moved your reservation to another room category on August 19th. As far as the information about the presence of the stairs is concerned, I am afraid that our website is quite clear on this. In fact, one of the pictures shows a staircase going up from the living room to the bedroom. It is not by chance that the room category you booked is called One Bedroom Suite; which is exactly the kind of suite you were given. As I said, the whole Front Desk staff, the Reservation staff, the General Manager and me myself were fully committed to find you alternative options, that is to say, the room move you gladly accepted. We did it this despite the fact you verbally abused each and everyone of us, using words I cannot repeat to the point you felt the urge to apologise to me on the phone today. I am still very satisfied with the work that our staff did to find you a different room, which I am pretty sure you will like as it features a very large terrace with a shower overlooking the marvellous garden that sorrounds the whole property. We initially reserved a Prestige Sea View Room with Balcony for 2 adults, arrival August 8, 2021, and departure August 10, 2021. We sent two email messages to the Adriana Balbi, Front Office Manager, to let her know we would arrive by ferry from Sorrento at 11:35 am and four (4) pieces of luggage. She assured us that there would be someone to meet us and take us via shuttle to the hotel from the ferry dock. When we arrived at the dock, there was no one there to meet us so we called. We were told to “walk straight up the street” to meet the shuttle driver because they could not bring the shuttle to the dock. We walked up the cobble stone street with 4 bags and found no shuttle. We came back down the hill, called the front desk, and were told to walk straight, again. Finally, a storekeeper took the phone and spoke in Italian to get proper directions, which were to turn right from the dock and walk up the hill. We finally found the driver and the shuttle. For a 5-star hotel, why couldn’t the driver meet us to help with the luggage? We were very hot and sweaty and not very presentable when we arrived at the hotel. It was roughly 12:30 pm when we arrived at the hotel and were told we could not check in until 3:00 pm because our room was not ready. We were taken to a courtyard and offered seats in the sun to wait for our room or we could take the shuttle to the town center to explore. I asked if we could access our luggage and a shower to change our clothes (many hotels have ante rooms or allow use of the spa showers); we were told no. We asked if we could have lunch and were told the restaurant was closed but would open shortly; there was water available for purchase by the pool. We then chose to sit on some seats against a wall where there was less sun and were given glasses of sparkling wine. Due to the late check in, we asked if we could extend our stay another day and PAY for a larger room (the Prestige room with balcony is 212 sq ft!). We were told the only thing available was a larger room for the last day at 1,275 euro per night, 600 euro more than our room. The room would not be available until after 2:00 pm the last day. We opted to decline. After arriving in room 303, we found that only one (1) electrical outlet worked, the hot water did not work, and there was only 1 large mirror in the room located behind the pocket door to the shower. There was small vanity mirror above the sink in the bathroom. We paid for our sparkling waters and drank them immediately and took cold showers to go to lunch. We were given a shuttle schedule to go into the city center and we arrived in the lobby at 5:20pm to catch the 5:25 pm shuttle. There was a delay, so we took the opportunity to tell Adriana that the hot water was not working. She responded by asking if we knew how to use the faucet. The shuttle driver took us to the city center, and we were told to meet at the drop off point to go back to the hotel according to the schedule. After dinner, we called at roughly 9:00 pm to confirm the time for the next shuttle and were told 9:45 pm was the arrival time. At 10:00 pm, the shuttle had not arrived, so we called the hotel and were told we had to RESERVE the 9:45 pm shuttle, so they did not send it to city center. At that point, after standing in 90-degree (F) heat, we took a taxi back to the hotel. We were so disappointed in the service, we said we would check out the next day—one day early. The next morning, we were told we could not be refunded for the early departure. We asked to speak to the manager, Antonio who was available 30 minutes later. He apologized for the mishaps and said we could stay an extra day as a gratuity, and upgrade our room for the rest of the stay….Apparently one came available because a guest had not shown up. Unfortunately, a larger room was not going to make up for the bad service (we were told the hot water issue was fixed), the staff members, while nice, were not very knowledgeable about the hotel policies or 5-star hospitality (don’t put hot sweaty guests in the sun and then charge for water) or did not speak English well and we could not speak Italian. We requested a refund for the second night but were told NO by the manager. Stay away from this hotel.

Dear Mrs. Stark, Mr. Cook, allow me to thank you for your email, as it gives us the chance to carefully go over the events you recounted. I will proceed by addressing the single issues you raised. • The arrival I understand that getting off the ferry and reach the meeting point from where we escort our guests to the hotel can be somehow uncomfortable. You are right, our driver cannot meet our guests at the ferry’s exit. According to the City of Capri’s rules and regulations, the driver cannot leave the van unattended, as this might need to be moved as the traffic conditions request it. Still. As you rightly say, the driver was at the meeting point waiting for you. • The check-in You are again correct. The check-in is at 3:00 pm. This means that the rooms are available to our guests no later than 3:00 pm. However, as you arrived, you were escorted to our garden and offered a welcome drink while we were registering your IDs into our system. For the sake of clarity, the hotel has no courtyard, but a garden. In fact, you were taken to our garden’s Rosegarden. Since this is entirely covered with roses, it provides shade and protection from the sun. Furthermore, in case the room is not ready before 3:00 pm, guests are granted the possibility, just like you were, to use our guest bathroom to have a shower, and also to use our SPA, Restaurant and Pool Area’s services. You refused to benefit from any of these services. I have some doubts you were denied the access to La Pergola Restaurant to have lunch. As you can yourself ascertain from the check-out receipt I send you in a private email, you had lunch on August 8th – that is to say, your arrival day. The price of the lunch (€ 74,00) was cancelled from your bill. Which means that our staff did not let you pay for it, as a gesture aimed at fixing the discomfort you went through at you arrival in Capri. From this receipt, I can find no charge for the water. • Request to extend the stay This is right, too. You asked to extend your stay, but the only room available at the moment was a Suite Sea View with Balcony, which is two categories higher than the room you originally booked and, therefore, comes at a higher rate. You declined. Nevertheless, you also declined my offer of a complimentary night with a room upgrade. I will go back to this later on. • Hot water malfunctioning I feel sorry for such a setback. However, as soon as you informed us about it, our Head of Engineering intervened and fixed the malfunction. • Shuttle time-schedule I understand you called us at 9:25 pm and asked information about the time schedule. You were informed that the shuttle was available at 9:45 pm and at 10:45 pm. You did not tell us you wanted to reserve the 9:45 ride. However, as you called back to the hotel, we offered you the chance to take a shuttle at 9:50pm. You refused the offer, saying that there was no need for the shuttle to come, and took a taxi. • Early departure As you felt frustrated, you asked to leave the room one day earlier and requested for a 1 night refund. You also asked to speak with me and I met you immediately in the lobby without let you waiting 30 minutes. Since I understood your frustration I offered you a room upgrade, plus a complimentary extra night in one of our most beautiful Suites Sea View with Terrace (as you acknowledge in your review), as well as a complimentary aperitif and dinner at our Ziqu Terrace Restaurant sitting at a sea view table. I also invited you to take a look at the suite before making any decision about leaving. As your proves proves, and I truly thank you for this, we tried to comply with all you requests and to fix the setbacks you rightly recount. Thus, based on our payment and cancellation policy (which are clearly described in the confirmation letter you received at the moment of booking) and by virtue of all the attempts we made to fulfil your requests and recover all the setbacks described above, I could not grant the refund of one night. However, I do hope you may want to come back and stay at our hotel. We will be happy to grant you some special discounts on our F&B and SPA services. We were staying at a neighboring hotel (Luxury Villa Excelsior Parco) right next door for several days. Unfortunately, that hotel could not accommodate our final night for one of our rooms, and there wasn’t much of a price difference, so my wife and I moved to this property for one night, while our children remained at Excelsior. Boy what a different experience! The staff was rude and informed us that we could not bring our children into our room. At first I understood their concern, so I explained the situation and informed them that we continue to have a room in the Excelsior too, so no worries. But I asked if my children would be able to use the pool facilities bc the Excelsior still had its pool being constructed. They said sure and so I asked my boys to come and swim. When they arrived, we were again told that they could not stay in our room and that the pool would be at an additional cost for outside guests. While I really didn’t care about the cost, I was now beginning to get upset at the accusatory manner in which the staff was addressing us. The boys swam and left. But I felt the staff constantly had their eyes on us, and the whole episode made me feel like I was doing something wrong. After staying at many luxury hotels, I can tell you that this is not how a 5 star hotel staff behaves. If you are interested in a good quality stay, go next door to the Excelsior Parco. Trust me, that’s what high quality hospitality looks and feels like. Stay away from this place.

I went carefully through your review and yes, I confirm that our staff informed you that your children could not unfortunately stay into your room. This happened for one simple reason. That is, the room you booked can only accomodate up to 2 guests. As you might surely understand, for both safety reasons and to assure a comfortable stay to our guests (more than two guests into a double room would likely mean an unconfortable and unsafe stay), there can be no exceptions. As you also know, we tried to upgrade you into a triple room, but, again, we were fully booked and no other rooms or suites were available. As for your children's entrance to the pool area, you actually did not pay for their stay. As we can certainly prove this, I am sorry to see you writing you paid. Since Villa Marina is renowned in the whole industry for its staff's kind, friendly and welcoming manners, I strongly encourage you to send me a detailed report about whom mistreated you and how. After this crazy no-traveling year I couldn’t wait to re-visit Italy. We spent 3 days in Capri within our Italian tour and book a room in this beautiful, charming and welcoming boutique hotel. Everything so authentic, from the cute shuttle service, the sophisticated room and the beautiful garden with lemon trees. So peaceful, well taken care of with an extraordinary service and the most outstanding view of the Marina. Walking distance to the port, and the shuttle service will take you to the piazzetta in few minutes. We’ll definitely be back!

Villa Marina is a dreamy getaway from the city life. With its view on Marina Grande, it is exactly how you would picture your ideal Southern Italian staying to be: cozy, mediterranean and luxurious. Its beautiful gardens with pergolas and rose trees are the perfect place for you to have a wine of glass in the evening and have a walk. The spa is also great: its small size makes it intimate, magical and lets you enjoy a 360° wellness experience. Super recommended!
