The monastery is grand, artistic and homey. The lovely local paintings of Sorrento on the walls create a beautiful ambiance . The terracotta deck has stunning night and day views of the Sorrentine Peninsula, Naples and Mount Vesuvius . The Sisters are very sweet, friendly and welcoming. They work very hard at making visitors stay as pleasant as possible. We stayed for eight glorious days and ate a delicious breakfast every morning with fresh Sorrentine oranges available, sweet and juicy. We had an Italian dinner which they cooked and served with their homemade limoncello one evening . The meal is charged to your bill. They bake beautiful cakes for breakfast and the smells permeate throughout the monastery during the day. This place is not to be missed .There is a twenty minute walk into Centre of the city. This place sits high on the hill with amazing views of the bay of Naples. The roos are basic but clean and the bfast is simple yet ample. The sisters who run the place are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room make an eaely morning cuppa difficult. The walk into the piazza is about 10 - 15 mins and quite easy. Taxi to train is a rip off €20 but not much choice if you have heavy luggage. Ill stay in the piazza next time just to maximize my time in the town but this place is really worth a try.
Kind, friendly, helpful nuns.Steep driveway but well worth the effort.Fairly short walk to Marinella beach,in the Cappuccini district of Sant'Agnello....Mesmerised by the views, sunsets and sunrises.Breakfast served in the common room.
plain, simple, clean and comfortable rooms, with very good views at a very reasonable price, it is a little way out of town {about 15 minutes walk} but is easy to find as it is on the main street running into town
The location is about a 15 minute walk from the Sorrento train station. The sidewalks and the road are very narrow for the first part of the walk and there is little space between the pedestrians and the vehicles. Taxis are expensive and cost us EUR 17-20 for a one-way trip. The room was spacious and opened up to a large balcony area with a panoramic view. Unlike in other Monasteries that we have stayed in before, there was no daily housekeeping and we had to ask for fresh towels after day 3. We would look for a place closer to downtown for our next visit.
