Located just at the edge of the main downtown area; perfect location. Relatively new hotel with ample size rooms and bath. Hotel appears to be used extensively by tour groups so the lobby and breakfast can be crowded at times. Note: only get free wifi in the lobby not your room - extra charge to get access in room. Not... More

With Naples, Herculaneum, Pompeii, and Caserta Palace behind us on our Go Ahead Amalfi Coast Tour, we arrived at The Michelangelo Hotel for our stay in Sorrento. The hotel is nice, located within walking distance of the town square and coastal area. Sorrento is perched high above the Mediterranean on a cliff side that is very picturesque. The dock area... When I read the reviews on this hotel before we left I was worried about the train noise and location. We had a room right on the tracks with a lovely flowered terrace, mind you it was a shared area with 4-5 rooms but very private. The trains weren't a problem at all....first train was at 6 am and I'm... More

Nice hotel situated in the middle of Sorrento easy to access the old town, staff are nice and friendly the only down side is the evening meals my advise is swap your evening meal for lunch they cook the meal at lunch time and warm it up for the evening, had some truly awful evening meals, as a single traveller... A reasonable hotel near the City centre. Reception helpful but very standoffish it appeared to me they were very use to dealing with problems and had all the answers. The restaurant food was good but we thought middle of the road with three choices for dinner. The waiting staff were very good and typical professional Italian waiters. They were almost... More

Breakfast was very basic .struggle to eat any of it .will go back but not to this hotel

our room was adequate with a nice bathroom and air con, the pool area and roof terrace were nice but not really used by us and the walk into the centre was so short it was hard to stay in the hotel when there was a bustling atmosphere to soak up. the evening meals were okay the starters were very... Have to echo some of the other reviews about the Bar. It was manned on a " ring for assistance " basis. The staff were very polite especially Giovanni who was always smiling and very interested in your day. The pool was cold but refreshing after a hot day sightseeing. The room was a good size and cleaned nicely every... More

Poor reception area with insufficient staff, overall level of staff performance variable - bar staff missing frequently, pool area and sunbathing area not staffed and did not come when called, food average with a fish dish served with Brussels sprouts! Not 4 star and not recommended.

After reading reviews on this hotel we were unsure if we should stay here. But we decided to stay here and felt like it was a good decision. The hotel was in a great location to all the restaurants, shops, excursions. The rooms were fine (we had 3 person room), had a small balcony overlooking the pool. The bathroom was... More
