A lovely stay here. We loved the location and would highly recommend staying within walking distance of sorrento - it only took us 10 mins to walk in. Great sized room and tasty breakfast. Nice little terrace for drinks and to relax. Top floor has a little pool and loads of sun beds! Sorrento is one of the best places I’ve visited

We were here for one week in November 2022. We chose the hotel because of its central location and good reviews in respect of managing dietary requirements. It did not disappoint on either. My husband has Coeliac disease and his needs were catered for brilliantly. All the restaurant staff were wonderful and made us feel like VIPs in how they looked after us…..from the first meal to the last they knew his requirements and did not have to be reminded. At dinner the restaurant team would explain the choices on the menu in terms of what was already gluten free and what could be adapted. There was always a gluten free dessert on offer, often something special not on the menu. We were on half board so we ate in the restaurant every night and the food was always delicious. The wine list had a variety of local wines and we felt that the prices were OK for a 4 star hotel….€6 for a largish glass and €20 upwards for a bottle. Breakfast offered fresh fruit, yoghurts, breads, jam, pastries and other sweet items plus a small selection of hot items. A gluten free roll, croissant, cereal and something sweet were delivered to our table each morning. Coffee was from a machine although some mornings we were offered freshly brewed coffee..…it seemed to depend on who was on duty. The hotel is very centrally located, less than 5 minutes walk to the railway/bus station and just a little further to the main square. We booked a balcony room and had a nice view of the pool (although this had closed for the season when we were there). The room and bed were comfortable and had a mini bar and a safe but no tea making facilities. All the staff we met were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to make our stay a pleasant one. The hotel is in the town rather than overlooking the sea, so does not have the spectacular views of some other places and will not suit you if you want to be near the beaches or have sea views but if you want attentive service, good food and a convenient location for sightseeing then you will not do better. Thank you Hotel Michelangelo, you made our first visit to Sorrento very special and memorable

Bottom line: after 2 weeks of traveling across Italy, this staff stood out as the kindest and most accommodating. My wife and I are on our honeymoon, and started in Venice, then Florence, Rome, and finally Sorrento. We have had nothing but positive interactions with staff, and the location is great relative to the city center. The complimentary breakfast is pretty good (served 7-10am), and the front desk was very helpful with any questions we had about getting around. Last but not least, we had a great bartender - Rosario - and it was very apparent the entire staff works very hard on behalf of the guests. Highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed at The Michelangelo for four nights at the end of October. I’ll start by saying that if I was writing a review solely about the staff at The Michelangelo, it would have been five stars (or more!) The staff at both reception and in the restaurant could not have been better, they go above and beyond. Our room was a double, overlooking the swimming pool, on the third floor. The bedroom itself was traditional and impeccably clean. The bathroom was tired and in need of an upgrade. The shower was small (and I’m not large!) with doors that easily opened if you bumped them. This was the main thing stopping it being five star for me. Travelling while gluten free can be a challenge and we were staying half board. However, the staff in the restaurant didn’t blink and remembered me every day to make sure I had breakfast and dinner options, including delicious breads and dessert every day. My husband also had excellent options for breakfast every day. Dinner was three courses and the options were varied. The hotel itself was very calm and quiet. The weather was glorious during our stay and we used the rooftop pool area to sunbathe and sat outside by the bar in the evening. This area gave excellent sunset views and a lovely place for drinks before dinner. We would definitely recommend The Michelangelo to anyone visiting Sorrento. The staff, service and location of the hotel make it an excellent choice.

A very classy hotel with helpful staff. We had a comfortable room with a good size balcony. Despite being very close to the train /bus station, it was very quiet. Breakfast was excellent. One very minor issue was that there was no trash can in the bathroom, which was a bit strange. I would certainly stay there again.

Excellent quality, service and attention. Ideally located for a short walk to Tasso piazza then on to St. Antonio for lunch. Tasso is very bustling with lots of tourists especially over the bridge looking out over Via Luigi de Maio, would recommend Capri chair lift, boat trip to Maiori and of course the Amalfi drive.

Stayed here before in 2019, this is our 3rd time in this hotel, some staff have gone but new staff now, some great upgrades done, rooftop bar open with music in the evening, rooftop pool on 6th floor, the staff in hotel from the cleaners to the management always smiling and happy to talk or help, love the guys in the restaurant, rooms are cleaned very well , I wanted a quiet room which I got over carpark but that comes with no view only of the opposite balcony, which wasn't a problem as we was out most of the day. Even the food has got a lot better and I enjoyed most nights, the hotel is in a great position, even though its not sea front but you pay for that,we will always come back ,the staff are a credit to the company
