This hotel is in a great spot a couple of minutes from Marina Grande. The staff on the front desk were freindly and helpful. The room was good, but not big for a double, the bathroom was very cramped everything on top of the other. The shower was very small and difficult to get in and out. Nice towels changed every day along with fresh coffee, milk and sugar. The breakfast was very good, a great choice of hot and cold dishes plus Prosecco, not for me at breakfast but hey! The only down side was the owner, who grumbled and growled and stood over everyone at breakfast like the food police. A very nasty and downright miserable person. Ather than Mr Grumpy, I would recommend this hotel.

Lovely clean, family run hotel with fantastic breakfast and beautiful views over the marina grande and bay of Naples from the roof terrace. Our family room was perfectly adequate for what we needed and had a small kettle with tea/coffee/milk. Staff were very friendly and polite. The walk into Sorrento up the steps past the marina grande is pretty and takes about 15-20mins to get to corso Italia (main shopping street). We were very happy here and hope to stay again!

The hotel is in a quiet location about 20 mins walk from Sorrento centre (which is horribly busy & noisy) but the bedroom is small and tiny showerroom. Balcony looks out on to a side road so if you want to watch tarmac then this is the place for you. The breakfast was FANTASTIC, best on the holiday and staff are really lovely. We paid £170 a night which was far & beyond the most expensive for our whole trip and believe me we stayed in some lovely boutique hotels. Do your research before paying over the odds for a room you're hardly in.

Thank you very much. We regret you found the cost of the room expensive. The rate is usually according to the time of the year, We do advertise that our rooms are small and balconies do not overlook the sea, The hotel is the only one in Marina Grande, property is very expensive in this area. As you say, you can find much cheaper accommodation anywhere else in Sorrento but not in a hotel in Marina Grande. Thank you for the nice words you have had for our breakfast and staff. Kind regards Gianni

Staff are very helpful, booked two tours with them no problems, room was clean, breakfasts were plentiful, nothing was too much trouble. The only thing was it was a bit far to the city centre, situated on Marina Grande, not much to do.

First of all, this Marina Grande hotel is just beautiful. It is postcard perfect. The staff is wonderful. Every person was as helpful as he or she could be. Anything which I needed to have coordinated was coordinated efficiently. Any assistance I needed, including assistance with language and pronunciation, was provided with a smile. This includes assistance which I received before arrival. Everyone was pleasant, as was every type of interaction. This extended from housekeeping to management. I really want to congratulate this staff on its success at what it does. At your request and for a fee, the hotel will provide you with a private driver from the the airport in Naples. I highly recommend this service. On the way to the property, you will wind through the streets surrounding Sorrento. Try not to pass out from the excessive charm. You will enter the hotel through the vibrant lobby, with its fishing village theme and eye popping tile. At one end will be a small sitting area/library, next to the front desk. At the other end will be the truly beautiful bar. Bar service is Italian Inn style. You will let someone at the front desk know that you need a drink. That person or someone else from the desk staff will come over and pour for you. The same rules apply to ordering drinks from the stunning terrace. Depending upon the package which you book, you may find a bottle of wine in your room when you arrive. Now THAT, is a fantastic amenity for someone who just flew several hours and then took a car, train or bus for another hour! The elevator/lift is rather small, but I found this to be the case elsewhere in Italy, as well. The stairs are not difficult to navigate. Landings offer views of Vesuvius. The stairs and elevator lead ultimately to THE TERRACE!! Wow! Wow! The rooftop offers fantastic views of Vesuvius, Naples, and Marina Grande Beach. There are pool lounges as well as rosettes of white tables and chairs. You will be relaxing on a sea themed tile mural. Keep in mind that the tile may be slippery if rain has recently fallen. The other termination point for the stairs and elevator is the breakfast room, which is just as precious as European breakfast rooms get. Without giving anything away, I will state that there is a geological feature, and that one of the two entrances to the room is geologically themed. The breakfast is AMAZING! You will find various breads and pastries, various jams and jellies, various meats, various vegetables, and a small selection of fruit. The fruit and vegetables are of course grown in the local Vesuvian soil, which is essentially like a steroid for plants. The flavors and aromas are so strong and fresh. Anything lemon flavored will blow you away; even a simple pastry with only a hint of the lemon in it. Welcome to Sorrento. Water, coffees and juices are available. Other than breakfast, there is no food in the hotel. However, there are many good-great restaurants on the beach immediately behind the hotel, and hundreds or thousands nearby, in the historical center. One of the restaurants on the beach is now my second favorite in the world. The hotel is separated from the beach by one building. That building happens to be a fantastic restaurant. You can walk to the historical center in a short period of time, but the walk may possibly seem a bit arduous to you. Two routes are available. Each is easy to understand. One takes you by the only laundromat in the area. Information is available at the front desk. I would be doing you a disservice if I failed to mention that the area is noisy. However, the noise is typical of any area with a lot of scooter traffic (Italy), and any port area (grinders, boat repair). So, I believe that I can provide this service to you without doing this wonderful property any disservice. The rooms are quite attractive, with tile floors. Mine had a small refrigerator. Some rooms are a little on the small side, so you'll need to exercise some organizational awareness. My bed was comfortable. My room was very, very clean. The rooms do feature total blackout shutters on the windows. However, there is a setting just before ultimate closure, which allows many pinpricks of light through, so that you can sleep well, but without missing breakfast and sleeping until housekeeping comes in. Never mind how I know that.
