I really cannot understand the negative reviews for this hotel. The staff are very pleasant and polite. Room is immaculate towels changed every day. Our room has a terrace overlooking the sea and the view is to die for. Its definitely an adults only hotel but after the hustle and bustle of a day in sorrento or a trip to the amalfi coast its lovely to relax in the serenity of the hotel. There is background music and even a singer was on last night which was good. Breakfast is nice with lots of choice and no complaints with the Evening meal either. Drinks are reasonable and the shuttle bus a godsend. We have walked into the centre a couple of times but wouldn't attempt the walk back as the hill is steep. A small price to pay tho for such stunning views. The cat who wanders around is so friendly and doesn't beg for food he just meanders about. If you want a rowdy hotel this isn't for you but if you want relaxation and a very clean hotel with stunning views you can't go wrong.

Booked this for my husband’s 60th birthday holiday was assured by Barrhead travel it was a fantastic hotel.Booked a double room with sea view given an absolutely tiny room 1 foot width between the bed and bathroom no drawers bedside cabinets not even a headboard no where to put your cloths or cases a view of the car park and a slight side view of trees. It was like a hostile.Asked to be moved told hotel was full to come back the next morning they might have a junior suite for 100€ a night. We moved rooms the next day to a much more suitable room but we had to pay 600€ The food was awful tinned fruit at breakfast poor quality food.We went for dinner 1 night then ate in town every other night. There is a cat that wanders the dining room begging for scraps! The views are beautiful the pool area is fine but no way 4 star hotel I have complained to Barrhead travel and Easy Jet but no one has answered my emails

Stayed at this hotel for a week. Great base, great views, fab shuttle bus down the hill to centre of Sorrento. Every other member of staff was polite and helpful, others very rude. We found the food in the restaurant not very nice. I didn't like it most of the time. We ate somewhere else a few times and thoroughly enjoyed being away from the soulless dining experience. I stayed here 12 years ago and it was a wonderful experience in those days. The restaurant space was void of any character, no music, it felt like a school dinner hall. Years ago, it had stunning drapes and table cloths and waiters worse white jackets. Not now. Ultra modern, bland and an experience I will do again. There were certain staff members that worked very hard and they made the experience. I will stay again but I won't have half board.....

I haven’t ever written a hotel review despite using them extensively before committing to travel. I feel like I should share my experience to stop disappointment for others. We booked this hotel over a year ago to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary and finally our honeymoon. We normally stay in 2 star self catering accommodation, so this was a real indulgent trip for us. First impressions of the hotel were great, the reception staff helped me wheel my case in from the shuttle bus and the pool and reception area looked really clean and modern. It was downhill from there on. We arrived at our room to find the curtains shut which I found odd, but essentially it was to hide the view from our balcony of the extensive brick wall and the wasteland from a neighbouring property. We asked if there was a possibility of swapping rooms and were curtly advised that it would be €40 a night for the privilege, only if there were rooms available after everyone had checked in. We learnt to keep the curtains closed as the property behind the hotel was level with our room, although it appeared to be agricultural they had regular visitors who have a fantastic view straight into the bedroom. We found out when my husband got undressed for a shower and realised there was a man staring at him in his birthday suit less than 20 feet away, although highly amusing for me! The sink in the bathroom was blocked but this was resolved pretty quickly, there was also extensive mould on the bathroom ceiling. The majority of the hotel staff were rude and unhelpful, particularly the staff on reception and the male restaurant staff. If they couldn’t help you they would simply walk off and ignore you. The food was pretty bad and not what I expected for a 4 star hotel. The dinner choices were very repetitive and there didn’t seem much difference in taste between one meal to the next. The food was often served luke warm and undercooked pasta or rice seemed to be normal. The leftover pudding from the evening before would be served on the breakfast buffet, with tiramisu making it to breakfast 4 days on the trot! If something ran out at breakfast it wouldn’t be replaced, so if you have a preference to a particular type of tea, bread or yoghurt don’t get used to it, certainly don’t bother asking as you’re unlikely to even get a response depending on which member of staff you ask. The rooms however were kept impeccably clean, with our floors moped daily, towels changed and bed made too. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was tastefully decorated. Although we had to leave our clothes in the suitcases as there were only small drawers in the wardrobe and a handful of hangers. The pool area, although we didn’t use it looked very clean. I missed the note on the website that accessing the spa was not included in the price of the stay. The views from the front of the hotel were to die for and the shuttle bus was useful for getting into Sorrento. The shuttle bus driver was the one staff member who stuck out from the others and made this holiday more enjoyable, he was extremely friendly and chatty waving to us if he saw us out and about. A few days into the holiday we actually decided to walk most days instead of using the bus, as although there were lots of shuttle runs, we found the bus times were limiting to our plans. The hill from the hotel is walkable but only if you are reasonably fit and have sensible shoes. The road isn’t well lit in the dark and you really need to have your wits about you when scooters and cars are passing because it’s so narrow and the locals drive very quickly. The noise in the hotel was frustrating, ironically the restaurant lacked atmosphere as most nights it was eerily quiet because there was no music except for one night during the whole week. However even the pianist they hired in clearly didn’t want to be there as he was watching the football on his phone while playing! The noise occurring elsewhere made up for it. The cleaners would use the TVs in the rooms to blast music out while cleaning, the earliest this started was 7:15am, not ideal if you want a lie-in. I did mention this to reception, but I soon learnt from the response there was no point in complaining. If you’re on the back of the hotel you’ll also hear rubbish being emptied into the outside bins any time during the night, but I recall several times being woken up between 2:00 and 4:00 in the morning to the sound of glass bottles being poured into the bins. The rooms aren’t very sound proof so expect to hear the footsteps of the person above you, them use the toilet and the scrapping of the chair legs across the floor. The hotel also caters to large groups so be prepared for the noise to go from minimal to absolute maximum overnight. A huge group of American tourists arrived part way through the week and the noise late at night and into the early hours when they arrived back from their excursions was frustrating, it did however drown out the silence in the restaurant in the evening. The hotel has great potential and with a change in staff it could be a fantastic place to stay. If you’re due to travel soon I would suggest taking ear plugs, if you can afford it upgrade to a sea view room and only eat at the hotel if you really have to.

If you want a quiet hotel with STUNNING Views then this is the one. The hotel is up hill, and there is a free shuttle bus provided by the hotel to take you down into Sorrento. It has set pick up times and the drop off is just outside the train station and bus stop across the road. The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean, the rooms and bathroom are a decent size too. The pool is gorgeous! The food is really tasty for those staying half board, breakfast is the same with breads, meats an cheeses, yoghurts, cakes, egg, bacon an sausages every morning, also fresh fruit. It is a 3 course set menu each evening. Once a week you can swap your evening meal for a lunch menu meal, which I'd highly recommend the menu is also good an the food is really yummy! The hotel has an adopted cat who is very friendly and enjoys a fuss he is gorgeous!! We really enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again.

Pool area has fantastic views but.. We stayed half board , I would not recommend this option, the food is appalling in the evening. If you are vegetarian the option is omlette every evening with different fillings. They will do a 'special' salad which is a large bowl of iceberg lettuce and a few grates of a carrot. Breakfast is OK , leftovers from the evening meal from the night before are always on offer. Dilute juice and dry bread. Eat in the town where the food is excellent. Hotel should be rated 3 star it needs extensive maintenance. Majority of staff are nice ,but a couple are very rude. Shuttle bus is good but not frequent enough in evening . Coming back from the town bus times are 8.45 then 11pm. Road is very steep and not well lit so not safe to walk back at night and taxi's are expensive. There is no atmosphere in the hotel no background. music. Sorrento is lovely however I would not return to this hotel.

Hotel is up a hill and the views are absolutely stunning. Pay extra and book at seaview room. Positives:- Shuttle service excellent which runs about every two hours from 8am to 11pm at night Rooms ok, very clean but lacking cupboard/drawer space. Fabulous balancy with chairs and sunloungets Breakfast ok. Pool area lovely. Negatives:- Souless hotel. No background music anywhere Evening meals were awful served by mostly miserable staff. We stayed half board which I wouldn't recommend. We got the shuttle and ate in town after the first couple of nights. Couple of ladies serving breakfast were very nice as were the ladies who cleaned the room. Very somber bunch with the exception of Julianne who was a credit to the hotel. I wouldn't stay in the hotel again despite the views, but Sorrento and the Amalfi coast are truly stunning.

Visited this gem of an hotel for the first week of October with 4 friends on a half board basis and had an amazing stay. The hotel is situated about 10-15 minutes drive from the centre of Sorrento but a regular courtesy bus is provided from before 8am until 11pm. As it's name suggests it is an art filled hotel, with beautiful open spaces and dozens of pieces of art to enjoy. The rooms are spacious, spotless and those with a sea view, spectacular. Those at the back have no view but the pool terrace is peaceful and has stunning views around the bay of Naples and over to Vesuvius. Excellent, quiet air-conditioning and meticulously cleaned each day, meant we wanted for nothing. Rooms even have huge fluffy pool towels and pool slippers. We found the food exceptional with varied choices at both breakfast and dinner and although we had thought we may give dinner a miss a few evenings to eat in restaurants in the centre, we ended up eating in the hotel every evening. Extensive cocktail menu too. Many reasons for loving this hotel but the staff are the icing on the cake. Every single one we met was sunny, welcoming and they really made our week. Would recommend to anyone.

Breakfast was cheap n tasteless and obviously the cheapest of cheap! Limited choice, coffee was thick like gravy and didn’t taste like coffee. Evening meal each night wasn’t nice and I noticed and heard other saying the same or leaving most of their food. No music at all or entertainment and the staff apart from the hotel driver were absolutely miserable to the point I was uncomfortable to ask for anything. Our room was facing a brick wall no sun no view no nothing apart from the awful Apparent art work in the room which consisted of a head, pig, greenhouse and feet done in pencil by a child very random indeed ( I will post pics) they need to be seen to understand. However the view was beautiful on the terrace that is the only reason I will give 1 out of 5.
