Nestled in a prime location, the Bellevue Syrene is lauded for its breathtaking views and exceptional staff, contributing to a luxurious atmosphere that's both warm and elegant. Guests have called out the hotel's ample amenities, including the live piano music and fine dining, which complement the stylish decor and ocean vistas. While the service receives high marks for its attentiveness and personalized care, opinions on value diverge; some argue the experience justifies the premium cost, whereas others find it steep. Rooms are generally celebrated for their space and scenery, but some guests note the standard rooms lack certain expected amenities. Cleanliness, however, is a consistent strong suit, with commendations for both spotlessness and eco-friendly efforts.

Our stay at this hotel was the highlight of our trip to Amalfi. Every aspect of our experience was truly remarkable.

The warmth and friendliness of the entire staff made our stay memorable. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with genuine hospitality.

The hotel's location is exceptional, offering unbeatable views of the Amalfi coast. It's a perfect vantage point to take in the beauty of the region.

The on-site restaurant not only serves excellent food but also offers breathtaking views. It's a delightful combination that added to our overall experience.

Special kudos to Concierge Francesco, who went above and beyond to organize our dinner reservations and tailor tour activities to our preferences. We highly recommend booking the private boat tour, which conveniently departs from the hotel's dock.

The presence of the hotel cat was an unexpected bonus, as we enjoyed spotting it lounging around the common areas throughout the day.

The general manager, Federica, is a true credit to the hotel. She was warm and welcoming from the moment we checked in, and she even took the time to locate us in the restaurant & wish us safe travels on the night of our departure. Her personal touch made our stay even more special.

The complimentary lounge with a selection of canapés and drinks changing throughout the day was a nice touch.

If I were to provide one critique, it would be that the rooms could benefit from a facelift. However, they are still generously sized, offer unmatched views, and come with a well-stocked mini bar.

We left with the intention to return; this hotel has left an indelible mark on our Amalfi experience, and we can't wait to stay here again in the future.

We have just completed a wonderful 10 day stay (May 2024). The latest of several stays over recent years. We are drawn to Sorrento and Naples for many reasons but it is mainly this exceptional hotel that brings us back time after time. The warmth and spirit of the staff, the beauty of the property and its situation (an oasis in a charmingly lively town), the comfort and elegance of the building and its decoration - both the guest rooms and the public spaces, and the quality and variety of the food and wine. We typically stay in five star hotels but this is the one that really does have it all. It stands out. And that is not by accident - it is evident that the Russo family and the hotel's general manager, Claudio Napolitano, recognise the fundamental importance of supporting their excellent staff, many of whom have been in long service with the hotel. This is a wonderful property and we recommend it without hesitation to travelers who are discerning but are also seeking a warm and casual atmosphere.

What can I say about this hotel other than it is magnificent. We stayed for our wedding and honeymoon with our two young daughters and I was a little concerned that it wouldn't be the right place for young children, however I was totally wrong. Every single member of staff went out of their way to speak to my children, entertain them and make us all welcome for the duration of our stay. I didn't get any names but the young man at breakfast who was particularly wonderful with them showing my daughter where she could find seashells as she's fascinated by them and letting them play with his water guns. They made pancakes for their breakfast every day and high-fived them all the time. The room has the most amazing view, was spotlessly cleaned all of the time even after 9 of us got ready for the wedding in there and it was left looking rather chaotic. The walk through the caves to the beach is stunning and the solarium is a lovely spot to swim and catch some sun. The restaurant food was sublime. My only slight issue was that we left early in the morning and had requested breakfast boxes twice before checking out but didn't get them, and the noise levels from weddings in the hotel late at night was problematic for us getting the girls to sleep or if we wanted an early night because we were up early the next day for a trip. I think that perhaps the area where events are held is very close to the guests rooms. My daughter cried when we left and has asked to be back at the "holiday house" every night since. An absolute dream of a hotel and a huge thank you from us all.

Everything about this hotel is 5 star. The staff are always available and responsive. Grounds are immaculate and beautifully designed. Rooms are incredibly spacious with lovely balconies. The windows are floor to ceiling and infuse the rooms with light. They also have shutters that completely block out the light at night. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. It is located on a cliff overlooking the ocean and very easy to access from town. Within walking distance of many delicious and reasonably price restaurants.

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, we were treated like valued guests of the hotel. The property is beautiful, perched on a cliff overlooking its own private beach area in the Bay of Naples. It has the most beautiful terrace for drinks and dinner, where sunsets and views are breathtaking. The lounge area is stunning, with gorgeous pink sofas, and snacks and Prosecco available for guests all day. But the staff here are the real treasures. The GM Claudio is such a lovely man, and he came to say hello and welcome us to the hotel. We were shown around by Eduardo, who gave us lots of information and brought us to our beautiful room. Simply decorated with white tiles and accents of blue, the focus was all on the view.. The stunning double height windows opened onto a small balcony overlooking the sea- the memories of waking up in this room will stay with me through the long Irish winter! In our room we were absolutely thrilled to see the hotel had left a Lego gift for our 6 year old- he was so excited. They had also left some bubbly and sweet treats for the adults which were greatly appreciated! We swam in the sea in the afternoon and later our son splashed away in the small pool at the bar while we had snacks and a little cocktail. Bliss. We ate at the lovely restaurant La Pergola that evening and were served by attentive, knowledgable staff who made a point of ensuring our little boy was included in everything. Breakfast has a nice variety of food (a healthy granola/museli without chocolate would be a great addition if I’m being super picky). The thinking of the live piano player as you break your morning bread on yet another outstanding terraced area is just one more reason to stay. I also needed something printed, and Vanessa at the concierge/check out desk couldn’t have been more helpful. She also gave us a gorgeous parting gift, and arranged a buggy to take us to the port for our ferry. Claudio made a point to come and say goodbye which was a lovely touch. Overall, I have to say that the service in this hotel was probably amongst the best I’ve ever experienced. We were sorry to leave, but have vowed that we will return for longer next year. I recommend this hotel to everyone for many reasons, including staff, location and the beauty of the property itself.

This really is a 5 star hotel. The staff are superb, the rooms are large and comfortable, the view of Mt. Vesuvius and the coast is unlike any other. We ran into the GM at least three times while there and she always had a suggestion on where to go or eat.

Because we visited in December, we were not able to experience the small beach or pool, but the Prosecco and fire in the lobby made up for it. They also had a small Christmas market that helped get us into the holiday spirit.

Our room, 106, had a sitting area with sofa and small chair along with a king bed. The bathroom was small around the sink but had a huge shower. The towels were sheet size and warm from the towel warmer. The bath amenities were ecologically inspired with bar shampoo and conditioner. I wasn’t keen on the body cream lotion because I couldn’t figure out the proper use. The room also had a terrace with built in benches against the wall and a bistro table with two chairs. As mentioned, the terrace had a full on view of the bay and Mt. Vesuvius. We had an iced bottle of Prosecco waiting for us with two flutes.

The included breakfast buffet had everything you’d ask. Hot eggs, bacon, potatoes, lots of cheese varieties, fruit, many pastries and breads, a machine to squeeze fresh orange juice, and an ala carte menu from which we did not order.

Lastly, we did eat dinner one night at the hotel restaurant. They had a 7 course degustation and pairing dinner which we did not try but wished we were more hungry for. (130 euros with 60 euros for a wine pairing). Our food was creative and delicious and included two surprises from the chef—one savory and one sweet. In fact, the macarons they gave us were better than we had in France. The pricing was not much different than in downtown Sorrento.

For mobility challenged, the hotel has a cart to get you to the center of town or train station. And dogs are welcomed, including by the hotel cat, Ariel.

Absolutely Perfect. From check-in to our last day, the staff here made us feel very welcome and relaxed. It truly is a 5-star hotel but not in the snooty kind of way. Everyone is very accommodating and helpful from making dinner reservations to setting up our covid tests for our return flight. I can't think of any complaints about the room and the views you get are just magical. Housekeeping always made sure the room was in tiptop shape when we get back and also the turndown service at night adds that extra something at the end of the day. The artwork scattered around the hotel and in the room are also well thought of and just makes everything feel so much more special. The buffet breakfast has one of the best selections in terms of variety and quality. The lounge room also offers the perfect haven for when you just want a drink/snack between meals. We played chess there and it was just a fun/relaxing experience overall.

I will definitely return here when I'm in Sorrento.

We have visited many hotels worldwide, but this hotel really sets new standards! From the very first moment, lived hospitality is celebrated here. The service is absolutely perfect from A to Z, and every employee is at it with genuine warmth and professionalism.

Even the personal welcome and farewell by General Manager Claudio made us feel particularly appreciated here as guests – a gesture that says a lot about the commitment of the entire team.

Of particular note is the service in the restaurant. The atmosphere is a delight not only through the delicious food, but also through the dedicated team that ensures an unforgettable time. A special thanks goes to Gasparo, whose warmth and charisma make every dinner and morning meal a special experience.

Our room was another highlight – equipped with every conceivable comfort, we felt like we were in another world. Every detail has been thought of here to make your stay unforgettable.

This hotel is truly a dream and exceeded all our expectations – we can highly recommend it to anyone!

My wife and I have stayed at the Bellevue Syrene since the year 2000 and did so again in June 2024 as well as in September. We were as delighted as ever with everything about this wonderful hotel. We were not surprised to learn that it has been awarded two Michelin stars for Hospitality.
The staff have always been both warm and professional and admirably complement the tasteful luxury of the fascinating variety in the hotel's decorative appointments. Our room's balcony afforded magnificent views across the Bay of Naples to Mount Vesuvius and our room was 'made up' as many as four times in a single day.
Most recently, on our departure - and as we had a late flight - a room was made available to us at no extra cost so that we could rest before travelling - my wife and I are 75 and 81 respectively so this courtesy was particularly welcome.
We are already keenly anticipating returning again in June 2025 and regard the Bellevue, quite literally, as our 'second home'.
