We decided very last minute to go through with our reservation - travelling from the UK and our governments ever changing policies was a risk... And I am SO glad we did! All of the stress and worries simply disappeared as soon as we landed in Italy. As always the hotel was an oasis of escapism from reality and we felt very safe and very well looked after in these strange times. Masks are worn by all - guests and staff when inside the hotel Reception area and when walking to your room - but on the terrace and when seated in the restaurants masks are removed by guests but still worn by staff. Our room was a beautiful haven with a balcony overlooking the Marina and Vesuvius - rising early each morning and heading to the balcony was a dream having been in lockdown for all those months. We were travelling for a girls holiday (With my mum it really is the perfect mother-daughter break) as well as adventuring the streets of Sorrento - which were quieter but still bustling and charming - we spent most of our days days poolside - it is really hard to be anywhere else when you can just dip in and out of the cool water all day in complete socially distanced safety. Sat in the pool, drink in one hand and book in the other just enjoying the bubbles. Ahh this has to be one of my favourite areas of the hotel - nestled amongst the lemon trees, with beds, pool side bar and restaurant and lovely gardens that have pretty hammocks which we hopped in just for a giggle. The restaurant by the pool - L’Orangerie is relaxed and chic and all open air - offering signature local dishes and the most beautiful stone baked pizzas. The kitchens are open so you can watch the chefs at work and drinks can be taken on your sun bed or at the pool bar area. Breakfast was taken outside this year making it a super Covid friendly experience for all and is still pretty special - It was lovely to sit on the balcony and soak up the view whilst grazing on Italian meats, cakes, pastries and local products to berries and fruit, yoghurts, oats and fish. The Michelin restaurant - Terraza Bosquet - we pre-booked on check in - make sure you do! What a fabulous and special experience dining on the terrace watching the sunset and eating the most gorgeous food and drinking local wine. The Spa is open so I treated myself to a manicure that I hadn’t had time for back home - will definitely be doing that again - a gorgeous safe space and fabulous staff A huge thank you to all for making us feel safe and welcome especially the wonderful Tiziana Laterza - the entire staff and their confident approach to their customer is what really made our stay - a truly world class, safe, 5 star service.

In the epicentre of Sorrento and perched above the marina (accessed via a lift from the hotel terrace) where ferries zip off to Naples, Capri, Ischia and the Amalfi coast. So the location is unrivalled and if you have a front-facing room the views would also be tough to match anywhere in the world. Beautiful dining area/views at Breakfast, I also tried the Michelin-starred restaurant (tasting menu: superb, so many different combinations, tastes and smells that almost overwhelmed and maybe less would be more). Difficult to assess in these strange times and it being little out-of-season as well, the hotel was not well occupied and thus lacking ambience and atmosphere. For example an early evening aperitif from the bar was rarely accompanied by other guests. I love the evening bed turn-down service and pillow chocolate and hope that tradition never becomes unfashionable. I guess one (self interested!) gripe would be the fact no room upgrade was offered when there were clearly plenty of rooms available. It would have been a nice thing to offer in the circumstances and would certainly have seen a 5 star review from this particular guest.

This was our first, abeit short, visit to this magnificent hotel and will be the first of many. Having a special interest in Roman history, the site and artefacts remaining on the estate added a special magic for me. We realised that the Covid19 situation would provide a different to usual experience at the hotel but can only say that we found our stay wonderful in every way, from the friendly and welcoming staff to the magnificent breakfast served with great aplomb each morning to the delightful drinks on the terrace each evening The well maintained grounds were a special pleasure and the well managed swimming pool area complete with its own archaeological site was a pleasure indeed.

It is an historical place with a fantastic landscape. Very good hospitality and services. Room is very comfortable and toilets new. Rates are a little but expensive especially for the hotel services. Too much noice in swimming pool but pool services are good. There is a big parking but the recharging stations are usually occupied by no hybrid or electric cars. At least I suggest to every one to spend good time there. An especially mention to hotel director, she is really professional and take care of hotel guest Let's go to Sorrento...... and taste the flowers of Napoli' gulf

We visited with my parents - my parents being on their third trip here said we all had to go as they have the best time and is their home away from home! Can I just say it was just simply amazing.. everything was perfect and everyone we met was just so lovely. We ate a few nights in the hotel and had some drinks in the hotel and it was all just lovely! Our room was amazing with great sea views. I can’t wait to come again next summer!! So glad we didnt cancel our trip due to covid and carry on as it was just simply perfect.
