    Not to be missed
I must endorse the previous, recent reviews. We are so pleased we held on tightly to this year's booking despite the problems with Covid-19, determined not to miss it if the hotel was open and flights not cancelled. The experience of returning to stay at this hotel is very special , feeling instantly absorbed into the bosom of the staff and the fabric of the hotel. Ebullient General Manager, Tiziana Laterza, has brilliantly and stoically maintained the highest standards and the wonderful team spirit which epitomise this incredible hotel and make it feel like the 'home away from home' we love so much. We only left the hotel once in 10 days, due to the fascination of watching the movements of people, boats and ferries in the port and the sight of Vesuvius from the balcony of our lovely sea view room together with the beautiful, luxurious surroundings of the hotel , relaxation and pampering. The various types of live music in the evenings on the terrace were most enjoyable especially the fantastic concert featuring Mario Biondi on my husband's birthday. It is a matter for serious debate whether the changes to the location of breakfast, due to Covid measures , is a loss or a gain. In my view, it requires the wisdom of Solomon to decide whether the legendary buffet breakfast in the stupendous, frescoed Vittoria ballroom is a loss when it has been replaced by diligent breakfast service from Rafaelle, Giovanni, Vincenzo, Guiseppe, AnnaMaria, Pasqualino and colleagues on the iconic terrace overlooking the Gulf of Naples and Vesuvius. The local eggs remain soooo fresh. Whether perfectly poached, boiled or scrambled, they are delicious. For several years now we have booked directly with the hotel instead of using packages with travel companies. This gives an Ambassador Guest role which provides a great deal on room rates and gives a 15% discount on food, beverages. spa and boat services as well as generous cancellation conditions. In addition, this year the hotel has offered #BeExcelsior certificates for 500 euros each, continuing until December 2020, which are redeemed for 650 euros each against stays at the hotel until the end of May 2022. We have congratulated ourselves profusely for buying some months ago as we saved 1800 euros on our holiday. No mean feat - the best interest rate we know of!! We hope the booking we have already made for next year will be as successful and we shall return happily to Sorrento.

Great stay with good Covid precautions
We were lucky enough to spend 5 days here in August/September and felt very comfortable with the Covid measures the hotel had taken. Staff were all wearing masks even outdoors, temperature checked on arrival, lots of hand santizers, breakfast outside this year and table service, reduced number of tables in pool restaurant...felt very safe. Generally guests were good about social distancing and wearing masks indoors, only area of concern were sofas by pool - where staff do change the covers every day - but folks were coming out the pool in swimming costumes - so maybe a sofa spreader risk....not much hotel can do if people are not aware... Otherwise pool and hotel were delightful. This is really a magical location and hotel. All staff, many of whom have been there for years, were as obliging , friendly, professional as ever. Had two excellent dinners at the Orangerie restaurant and pool bar/terrace lunches were great. We were lucky to get upgraded room with great terraces and view. We can't wait to come back.

    Perfection in every way.
This has officially become my second favorite hotel in the world. It is almost perfect, in fact we booked two nights and extended our stay another two nights given it was such an amazing experience. The staff are some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. The concierge was amazing, the food was incredible, management, rooms were perfectly cleaned. I mean hard to find fault with anything whatsoever. I wish I could live there! Keep up the amazing work! We will be back next year without a doubt. Only two minor things that could be improved on. - Get rid of the plastic bottles of water in the room and use glass instead. Glass is class, plastic is just not good for environment. -The welcome wine could have been better, it was a $6 bottle and almost not drinkable. A hotel of this caliber could go a little more high end. See you next year!

Everything about this hotel oozes class. From the moment we turn into the gates from Tasso Square we feel that we are coming home. We have been visiting this hotel for many years and it never disappoints. The friendliness of the staff, so many are there year after year, to the immaculate condition of the hotel and the first class service is unrivalled. Having returned home last week, our flights are already booked for 2024.

This hotel is an oasis in a very central part of town with a very large pool area, walking grounds and elevator to the port. The view from our balcony was exception and a memory for a lifetime. Corrado, amazing concierge. He remembered our name from day 1. While not inexpensive this hotel is a five star experience.

This incredible hotel is a destination unto itself. Built over the ruins of Octavio Caesar’s palace this hotel is “ grand” in every way. Sitting on over 5 acres in the middle of Sorrento the location and grounds are fabulous. The hotel offers a private lift down to the beach and marina. The pool area includes comfortable lounges, food and drink service, and a great pool in which to cool off. The concierge can arrange a boat to Positano, Capri, or car service to Pompeii. This hotel is outstanding.

What a wonderful hotel. Old world charm and exceptional service, combined with great views and clean/modern bathrooms. This place is in THE BEST position possible in the whole of Sorrento. It is right off the main square, but you walk down a beautiful private tree-lined drive-way to the hotel so it is completely private and quiet. There’s even a lovely pool area, and you just can’t believe you are so close to all the bustle of Sorrento in August! We couldn’t have been happier, we’ll be back.

What ever the reviews say, it’s better. An amazingly delightful experience from start to finish. The hotel is magnificent and maintained superbly. The staff is so nice, so accommodating, and so elegant in their manner. The food follows suit and is presented beautifully. My wife are delighted with our choice and all the suggestions made by the concierge staff. Than you. The moment you walk down the entrance you’re welcomed by its beauty and fragrance. Touché to the management.

I spent a few days at the hotel pool and what makes the place so pleasant is the friendly service. Giuseppe and the team are working non stop to make sure everyone’s stay is as good as it can be. He was constantly making sure everyone’s needs were met.. offered friendly advice about Sorrento.. and read our minds when we needed help around the pool or a wanted a meal/drink. Thanks again and we’ll be back as soon as possible

had an incredible stay at this hotel! The location was absolutely unbeatable – right in the heart of everything. The views from my room were simply breathtaking. However, what truly set this hotel apart was the staff. Their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness made me feel like I was the Lord of Downton Abbey . Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable and delightful stay.

My family switched to this hotel last minute, and we are thrilled that we did. They could not have made the reservation process easier or more accommodating, the front desk could not have been more helpful, and the rooms were amongst the nicest I have been in with an amazing view from our private terrace. This is a true 5 star hotel in every sense.

Hotel, room , staff and location all were excellent. We were so pleased with our stay and the concierge went above for us, even sending a forgotten item to our next stop in Capri. You will not be disappointed! Additionally no better spot in Sorrento than their terrace to have a drink. Also loved our accommodations Andy all the common areas
