My husband and I stayed at Maison Tofani during our honeymoon in August 2022. We had a great time, and the hotel is located very centrally, making it very easy to walk to wherever we wanted to go. They were also able to accommodate our late night check in, as our flight landed close to midnight. The breakfast spread is pretty good and dining room is beautiful. The room (we stayed in the Loft) was clean and had a nice view over Sorrento, however bathroom was a little on the smaller side, and my husband (who is tall) would tend to bump his head on the ceiling at some parts due to the loft structure. Overall, we had a great stay and we would like to thank the staff, who were friendly, very prompt in replying our queries, and even helped to arrange for transfers for us to and from the airport and train station!…
This hotel was stunning with friendly staff, a great breakfast, authentic charm, great rooms and a breathtaking rooftop seating area. From the moment we arrived we loved it hear, the building is gorgeous set with its own courtyard at the centre and original frescoes in the building. The air con was bliss in the august heat and bed was so comfortable. But the roof stole the show. We watched sun set over the bay of Naples and mount Vesuvius, above the buildings and in the cooler air with the sound of the street bustling below. It was a stay I’ll never forget. Would recommend staying here to anyone going to Sorrento.
Once again we returned to the Maison Tofani and loved every minute of it. It is our favorite hotel in Italy and we always love returning there. We stayed for 6 nights and always felt like we were visiting family. Much thanks to Maria, Antonino, Rita and everyone else at Maison Tofani. We also give much praise to Alfredo and Tony at their restaurant La Lanterna. That is our favorite restaurant. When we left, they said see you next year and I can confirm that we will definitely be back again. Breakfast was great and also we loved our room, which was room number 4. The bed was comfortable and the AC worked just fine. The staff is just wonderful and we can never thank them enough for all that they do. See you next summer! Tom and June NYC
The building is so old you can hear every tiny movement from other guests in their rooms and the plumbing seemed to run straight through ours - someone could flush a loo rooms away and we'd still hear it! The bathrooms themselves are nothing short of appalling. Ours wasn't clean and the shower so small it was essentially redundant. It claimed to be a jacuzzi shower but the showerhead itself was so powerless it was more like a dribble, I couldn't wash my hair with it. The staff didn't seem to care about the guests at all. We left early having had such a terrible time and they didn't even care to ask what was wrong!
Perfect accommodation in the heart of beautiful Sorrento. We stay 5 nights there in two very comfortable and clean rooms. Very friendly staff. The owners were very kind and ready to help us every time. Really recommend!
Perfect location right in the middle of the old town. Everything within walking distance. Room was quite spacious and clean. Thought the bathroom was a bit cramped and needed updating. Disappointment was the breakfast - choice was limited. perhaps this was because we visited in February and the hotel was very quiet. First two morning there was no buffet; just a selection put on our table. Would we visit again - yes. The location and the staff made it a pleasant stay.
I lovely hotel right in the heart of old Sorrento. Beautiful house with many historical elements. Breakfast is amazing and the service A++; the owner Signora Maria personally attend to breakfast and Francesco provides beyond excellent service. The rooms are larger than the norm and very comfortable. Will definitely be back!!
Amazing breakfast in a very lovely setting in the old building! Staff personable...clean...and a little sun deck to relax after a busy day. Only negative - did not enjoy the 2 restaurants recommended by the manager? Very touristy...my personal opinion only... would recommend Madison Tofani
Our recent trip to the area included a six-day stop in Sorrento, and Maison Tofani offered an ideal place to stay. Located in the heart of the city and close to shops and restaurants (not to mention a short walk to the train station), this charming hotel was outstanding for an off-season visit to the area. Our previous trips to the area in the high-season included hotels outside of the city. The proximity of Maison Tofani to everything Sorrento has to offer, however, allowed us to explore the town without the worry of a long journey "home" if shops were closed for the winter. The staff was remarkable, offering wonderful service during our stay. I am embarrassed to say that I do not recall the names of all who served, but there was not a single staff member disappointed us. The hotel restaurant (in its own building atop a fascinating mosaic just across the via) offered a delicious repast of Italian dishes. The only issue we had was the flight up the stairs to the elevator. Having recently endured a fall which resulted in a shattered heel and a painful reconstructive surgery, I found climbing the first flight somewhat discomfortable.…
Interesting old building with modern facilities. Helpful, friendly staff - especially Francesco who looked after breakfasts. Clean comfortable room and bed. Many little touches to make our stay very pleasant. We would happily return.
