My husband & I have been to Sorrento numerous times & on this occasion I was celebrating my #75 birthday & we wanted a special place to stay...glad we chose the Grand Hotel La Favorita! The Hotel excelled our expectations all week! From the designer room with the gorgeous mosaic tiles throughout that extended into the bathroom, to the complimentary glass of Prosecco shared on their rooftop terrace bar to the friendly, helpful staff...we were blown away! The front desk staff were exceptional in providing extra converters when ours would not work to supplying the much needed umbrella on the one day of rain, to answering all our questions, to surprising me with a birthday bottle of Limoncello...how did you know that was my favorite? Thank you again! One thing that made an impression on us was the departure breakfast bag they furnished for us since we had a early a.m. flight from Naples back home. We mentioned to the front desk that we had to depart so early & would miss out on the breakfast buffet so they arranged for us to have this breakfast meal in a bag that included pastries, a sandwich, juice & beverages before we left. The daily breakfast buffet and the staff each morning were very friendly, professional and outstanding in their presentation. The buffet was stocked with any type of fruit you desired to pastries, to meat entrees, to eggs, to waffles or pancakes. We tried it ALL & believe me, we didn't go away hungry. Our room (122) was spotless, well-stocked and we loved the mid-day clean with changing of the beds & towels. It was a nice treat in the evenings when they would come by and knock on the door to see if you needed anything restocked prior to bedtime. The Hotel location was ideal with close proximity to restaurants, shopping or just sight-seeing. We have been to Sorrento numerous times and we absolutely love this hotel! Sorrento is a great base for catching a ferry to Positano & Amalfi which we did on a bright, sunny day. I am such a photography buff that our previous private drive down the Amalfi Coast did not allow one to see the majestic mountains upon approaching either Positano or Amalfi. It is really breath-taking to capture the surrounding mountains as you arrive into port. Another sunny day, we took the ferry over to Capri & Anacapri. We have been to Capri previously but there was one thing on my bucket list that I didn't get to see or mark off when we were here in 2018 due to a limited schedule. What I wanted to see was the Saint Michael Church located in Anacapri with its gorgeous mosaic tiled flooring that depicts the abolishment of Adam & Eve from the Garden of Eden. Surrounding them are all the various animals. You can not walk on the flooring but there is a wooden platform that surrounds the edges where you can walk. The view of the entire floor is breath-taking when you see it from the organ balcony above. The "feeling: I felt when I left was so peaceful and reverent. Sorrento, Sorrento, Sorrento....our favorite place in ALL of Italy. We fell in love all over again when we first came here in 2014 and knew we had to keep coming back! We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary here in 2018 with an evening reservation at IL Buco restaurant which we talk about to this day because it truly was the BEST meal we have ever had anywhere, the BEST service found anywhere, plus the MOST expensive meal we have ever had anywhere...priceless!!! Thank you again to the entire staff for such a memorable stay and believe me, when we return to Sorrento, we will ALWAYS stay at the amazing Grand Hotel La Favorita!…
After reading so many positive reviews I had high expectations and I was so thankful that we had the same amazing experience as many. This hotel is 10/10 in every way. Perfect location, very close to the centre, beaches and port. The pool and bar area is stunning with breathtaking views. All staff were extremely helpful throughout the hotel. The breakfast staff did stand out as the service each morning was second to none, starting our day off so right. The breakfast choice was beyond what you would expect and they had everything needed and more. We enjoyed breakfast every morning and it set us up perfectly for our day. The cleanliness of the hotel and room is to the highest quality. The room was sparkling clean every single day with the special little adjustments made by the room maid service. Another bonus was that you can book the sister hotel restaurant O'Parrucchiano La Favorita via the hotel and they are likely to get you a reservation. We ate here twice as it was delicious! The one thing I would change about the hotel that would be my personal preference would be for the swimming pool to open before 9am. I enjoy a morning swim and a swim before breakfast would have been lovely. However, they completely change the layout of the rooftop area for evening guests so I understand the reason for this. Thank you for the most perfect stay, we will 100% be returning!…
Stayed for a week at this beautiful hotel. Excellent breakfast, wonderful and accommodating staff, gorgeous marble and inspired decor. Beautiful spacious and inviting rooftop with wonderful views of the sea and Sorrento, with a bar and a beautiful pool. Located a block from the edge of the cliff above the sea, in heart of historic district. Garden and other charming seating areas outside. Business travel with a few days' vacation tacked on. Sorrento is very crowded and noisy, but the windows and balcony and patio doors are almost completely soundproof.
We are raving fans of this hotel. We didn't know anything about it before our visit but could not be more pleased wth it. We just returned from a 7 night stay and were totally pleased with everything about it. It is a in a perfect location, near everything but quiet enough to leave the terrace door open. It is appointed with beautiful original artwork, plush furniture and sculptures all over. We found out the owner is an avid art collector. There is also lush garden and rooftop pool and terrace with a fully staffed bar. The room cost included breakfast with an extensive menu and is served on linen tablecloths by uniformed staff. Every staff person we encountered was friendly, helpful and seemed to enjoy working there. It is also reasonably priced for the quality of the facility, room and food. It definitely is a first class hotel that we cannot wait to visit again.…
I was supposed to stay at the hotel in July, 2022 for 4 nights. The hotel is fine, but not a 5-star hotel in any way. The rooms are slightly dated and the lobby and other areas are 3.5 to 4-star. After the first night I requested to cancel the remaining 3 nights because I wanted to move to a legitimate 5-star hotel. The hotel manager asked me why I didn't feel the hotel was a 5-star hotel. I asked her if she had ever personally stayed at a 5-star hotel and she said no. I told her if she had she would know that the Four Seasons and Peninsula's of the world are several steps above La Favorita. In fact La Favorita isn't even on the coast as it claims. The manager refused to refund the remaining nights even after I offered to stay one additional night so they wouldn't lose the revenue. Ultimately I didn't want to ruin my vacation by not staying at a great hotel so I ate $1200 for the 2 nights I left and moved to another hotel. Terrible customer service.…
Beautiful hotel and staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent food, especially breakfast. We were there for a combination of my wife's birthday and our wedding anniversary and were surprised by some champagne and a little decorated cake on our first morning at breakfast and a gift of a bottle of local Limencello in the room. Loved the rooftop pool and bar and the amazing fish in the bathroom!
Exceptional people at the hotel. Best service ever! The staff welcomed us warmly, and made our night complete with a beautiful meal, at the day of our arrival. They made us feel at home from first meet. They were always helpful in their recommendations, whether due to restaurant, what to order on the menu or what to see.
Our family of 3 stayed with Grand Hotel La Favorita for 4 nights. A very convenient location. Our room is spacious and toilet is clean. The breakfast service team are always friendly and with smiles. Rooftop bar has a nice view of bay of Naples and good point for seeing sunset.
