We found La Ferrovia to be a fantastic place for exploring the Amalfi coast. Literally 30 seconds from the train station and bus stops which can take you to Pompei, Naples or Positano. Also right next to the bus to the airport so all in all a perfect location. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with Netflix available also. The guesthouse is just 5 minute walk from the main plaza and one of the best pizzerias in Sorrento Il Leone Rossi is just next door. Also we checked in later than reception is available and check in was fine with instructions sent via WhatsApp. Furthermore we used the reception area to leave our baggage which was also no issue for the staff. For price, quality and location this is a no brainer in Sorrento.
I had every intention of writing a review after my birthday trip back in April 2019 but life is a distraction. Still want to preserve good memories and this guest house was one of the best. They are so perfectly located in Sorrento town, within walking distance to restaurants & easily accessible to train station. Very clean and comfortable, host is wonderful & welcoming. Looking forward to returning!
My partner and I stayed at this location for 4 nights at the end of August for a family wedding. First bit of advice which is no reflection on the hotel, do not get a taxi from the airport to where your staying (or get a taxi anywhere) as it is hugely expensive and cost us €150. There is a coach transfer which takes you from the airport to right outside to this location costing only €10pp, they always sell water, beer and Prosecco on board. We arrived slightly earlier than check in and this was no problem, we waited 20 minutes in the lobby whilst our room was cleaned. We were offered drinks and snacks whilst we waited and there was a friendly atmosphere from staff. Upon entering our room it was clean and tidy with everything you needed for a city break. If you were being picky there were a few snaggy bits that needed going over in the rooms but nothing that would bother you. The hotel itself is in a great location being about a 5 minute walk from the main square however set back far enough not to be disturbed. Whilst this hotel is right next to the train station and coach stop, we were not woken up once by anything and our room was the room closet to these. There are blinds, shutters and good windows which keep out light and noise really well. The only noise you will hear is anyone in the corridor as the internal doors are a little thin. The only slightly downside was that the breakfast lacked options. This didn’t bother us as breakfast locally is actually quite cheap with lots of options (we recommend Rita’s for pastries, coffee and sandwiches). Despite this the coffee machine in the hotel is very good! If we returned to Sorrento we would definitely stay at La Ferrovia Guest House again. Favourite restaurant of the trip was La Lanterna and Sorrento is full of restaurants and beautiful views. Pompeii is also a must.…
Literally just over the road from the train station, this quirky and modern guest house is so perfect for couples or small parties. It literally has everything you could want and need. Free coffee, mini bar, amazing decor and a perfect location. The staff are so kind and looked after us so well by arranging our transfer back to the hotel and making sure we had everything we needed.
I just stayed at la ferrovia for 7 days. The hotel is just like the pictures, very clean and the room is equipped with everything you can ever need in a vacation. The location is great, on the heart of Sorrento, very close to all the stores, restaurants and hotels. Pascoal was very nice and was always ready to help us.
