Salerno is the best place to stay, if you want to visit the Amalfi coast and Pompeii. You do not necessarily want to visit the Amalfi coast by car, parking is horrendously expensive, the mountain streets are not easy to drive and often you will stuck in heavy traffic. Therefore the ferries in Salerno are the best way to visit... More

We spent eight nights here and loved it. Salerno is a great location for seeing other stuff like Amalfi, Paestum, and Pompeii, and there are probably books and tourist information in the house on all of it. There's also three comfortable rooms, a fantastic breakfast featuring local specialities, a small pool in the garden big enough for the kids to... More

We highly recommend this B&B for anyone visiting the Amalfi Coast, Pompei, etc. This town is centrally located but less touristy then Sorrento, which was recommended by Rick Steves. The B&B is a great value. Elena is a wonderful host and had great restaurant recommendations, particularly the local hosteria and its egg plant ravioli. Her breakfasts and the pastries were... More

We spent as a family one night in villa Avenia. The B and B is very nice, the rooms are exquisitely furnished and breakfast is splendid. Besides the host was very, very kind to us so we enjoyed our stay very much. We will come back again.

This is a quaint B&B in Salerno and although it might not be ideally located near the train station (~20-30 min walk), it more than makes up for it any many little ways. It is away from the noisy areas, there is a Travelmar ferry stop very close by (Salerno Manfredi) and the buses along the Amalifi Coast are also... More

My sister located this B&B as we planned travel together. The price was right and the location sounded good. The rooms are beautiful and the building is very interesting. It is in a good location to be close to the action, but just far enough away to avoid a lot of city noise at night. It is in a working... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Villa Avenia. The Villa itself is beautiful, charming, well maintained and has breathtaking views of Salerno. We loved our room and bathroom was great - no problems at all. The beds were okay - not very comfortable, but comfortable enough. The breakfast was simple and included some homemade treats along with fruits, packaged... More

This is a private home with rooms for rent. The home itself is very interesting. The hostess came down to the center of Salerno to help us drive to an area where we could park without getting a ZTL ticket. These are zones in most Italian cities that you must have a permit to drive in during certain hours (or... More
