The only positive about this hotel is the location. It is a rundown buidling, with unconfortable beds, old furniture and extremely overpriced. The lack of a good working ac was also missing. Service was poor and certainly not very proffessional.

Part of a paparazzi tour we booked, nice enough hotel in great location right in the square of Almafi. Dinner was included as part of the package which was a bonus. Hotel overall was good, we had a view out over the port, no issues with noise. Staff were friendly. A bit cramped for breakfast which was very basic but adequate.

This hotel has an amazing location. It is only steps away from the Duomo and the main street of Amalfi... there's only one. Rooms are spartan, but impeccably clean. Beds are reasonably comfortable. Staff is fantastic! Parking is an issue. There is no parking by the hotel, so this can get a bit confusing. However, you can contact the front desk as you enter Amalfi, by using Whatsapp. They immediately responded to us. They sent Andreas to pick up our car and privately park it overnight for €20. Well worth it. You need to wait for him near the roundabout by the main entrance into Amalfi, and this can be a bit tricky, but is doable. Lots of great restaurants nearby and the patisserie just across the square has pastries you will remember for the rest of your life! Ask for a room with a balcony facing the Duomo.

Yesterday we stayed in the 4 star Hotel Positano with a scenic view of the Amalfi Coast and Positano for €150 per night. Today we are staying in the 2 star Hotel Fontana in Amalfi with a view of the Mediterranean and the transit centre for €150 per night. The prices clearly show that accomodation on the Amalfi Coast is in demand and expensive. To be fair, the Hotel Fontana is in a prime location, being only 200M from the beach, the ferry, Sita and local bus terminals and overlooking the main town square, with its cathedral and endless shops, cafes and restaurants. The rooms are reasonable in size with cavernous 12 foot ceilings but not much atmosphere, large fridge, no safe and overly hard bed. No complaints about the bathroom, small shower but nice hot water. Breakfast is the usual European cold fare; cereal, cold meat and cheese, yoghurts and a wide variety of cakes and bread. The dining room is very small and cramped so don’t eat too much or you may find it hard to extricate yourself! Tea/coffee making facilities are not available in the rooms but are available on request but bring your own tea. If you are thinking of going into the hills to Ravello, you have 3 options; the Hop-on Hop-off bus for €5 one way, the local Sita bus for €1.30 or an expensive taxi. If you choose either bus be prepared to fight, scratch and bite your way on, particularly on the return journey. Seats are limited and no regard is given to either queue position or length of wait. Dog eat dog but worth the trip.

this hotel was centrally located and also close to the sea, the staff were very nice, until check out. One of the days I had asked for an extra towel and then left it in the bathroom with the others. However, at check out, the woman said they could not find the towel and that I had stolen it. I was so upset by this! I offered to wait while they checked the room and told them they could search my luggage if they wanted but she just said no and insisted I had stolen it. If you stay here and ask for anything, make sure you return it, get a receipt and ask them to update their computer or you will have a very unpleasant experience at check out
