We stayed at Hotel Amalfi from the 7th to 9th October 2022. We received an email through our booking site Expedia, extract: “We can suggest you to park, however, in the Amalfi public parkings – Luna Rossa and Berma Portuale – cost € 35,00 per day, requesting long stay We also can suggest you to park in the port of Salerno “Piazza della Concordia” and the catch the ferry to Amalfi. Is very important to not enter in the historical centre with the car without authorization because is pedestrian area and you can have a penalty” We followed the suggestion to park in the unmanned parking lot Berma Portuale on the western side of the harbor. We spend the two nights in the hotel, nice room with balcony and not so fantastic views, but an okay experience. As we checked out from the parking lot after a little less than 2 days, the bill was 213 Euros and not the expected 2 x 35 = 70 Euros, which is already a very high price. We could not get in contact with anyone and in order to get the car out we paid the “fine”. I find the hotel is responsible for the information sent and requests the difference to be returned to me. If the parking authorities of Amalfi can not handle the correct payment, you should make sure to change the message sent to all Expedia clients, that they should not park in Berma Portuale, if that is really the case. The hotel has not replied on the notes listed above and probably don't care. I suppose the recommendation of using the parking lot in the harbour is still sent out to customers, so please make sure you park somewhere else...

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Amalfi. The Hotel is a short, easy walk from the ferry and bus stop. It is very centrally located. Our room was very clean and had a small patio in a courtyard. There was no view, but we didn't expect one. The breakfast was served on the roof patio with excellent town and mountain views. The highlight of our stay was the front desk clerk, Sara. I asked her many questions about tours, transportation and restaurants and she is a local expert. Sara is the best! I would recommend Hotel Amalfi to my friends.

The response from the hotel to help me when I had to leave early because my father had a stroke is just so sad and disappointing. I had to unexpectedly leave on day 2 of 7 in order to be at the hospital with my father, and the hotel is UNWILLING to help me out and refund even just a few of the days. At a time when I am dealing with this and having to fly to support him, they are not willing to work with me and refund me for even a portion of the money I had paid for the room - it's just so disappointing, no humanity to help each other out. I did pay for the refundable fare, although i know that leaving in the middle of the trip does not qualify for that- but in a family emergency, is so sad they are not even willing to work with me. They are making a hard time harder. I have written and called and noone will even respond. What happened to having a heart and helping each other out? Sure, keep my $2,600, for a room that was unused, and make a though time even tougher. When you probably were able to still rent out the room.

Spent a lovely four nights in this friendly, centrally located hotel . The hotel is literally located a small walk away from the main square , and Duomo, shops and restaurants. Perfectly located on a side street tucked off the main thoroughfare, with access to numerous small restaurants tucked away , perfect . I would say it’s also only 10 min easy stroll to the seafront and small harbour where you can catch various ferries to the other towns . Lovely spacious room , great decor , lovely shower with plenty of towels , hairdryer , iron , small ironing board , coffee and daily water supplied in the small fridge . Breakfast is served on the 5th floor terrace , with seating inside and outside with views of the Duomo . Nice selection , continental style . Staff at breakfast very accommodating and friendly , didn’t even have to ask for my coffee after day one , was just brought over to our table . Lovely touch. Found the staff at the hotel very friendly and informative. Reception helped with advise on booking ferries , trips and any general information required . Nothing was any trouble . Hotel booked our transfer to and from Naples airport, very smooth transaction. Highly recommend this hotel for a wonderful stay in Amalfi . Will hopefully return .

A delightful hotel - comfortable, well appointed, elegant, nice bedroom, excellent bathroom. Located in one of the very atmospheric medieval alleyways so no traffic noise, and very close to the exuberant historical centre and restaurants. Very good breakfast - plenty of choice - is served on a sunny terrace with lovely views of the Duomo's campanile, the cliffs and the mountain behind, as well as a glimpse of the sea. Helpful, friendly, highly professional staff. We loved our stay there. My only criticism is the lack of storage space for clothes: a hanging rail with only eight hangers which is not much for two people staying eleven nights! - and a couple of open shelves so a lot of our clothes stayed in our suitcases. And a box of tissues in the bathroom would have been welcome.

We stayed here for two nights and really loved it. The location is perfect - its in the centre of Amalfi, up some stairs, so you have a great location with everything in easy walking distance, and still, its very quiet. The rooms are comfortable and with everything you need. I especially liked the tiled floors and the window with great views. Staff is very friendly. The breakfast is a small and good buffet, on the 5th floor, with good weather enjoyed on the rooftop terrace. Definitely one of my favorite places in 3 weeks in Italy. Two reasons why I dont give 5 stars: - WIFI was pretty poor. I only got connection whilst standing behind the door of the bedroom / otherwise, no chance. Something that is quite strange to me in 2022. - Privacy (or rather, the lack of it): on day two, at 08.30 in the morning, a staff member tried to enter the room. I had locked the room from the inside and the key was in the door, otherwise she/he would entered the room. No knocking, no asking "is somebody here ?". That is an absolute no go, and is so wrong and really really bad. Do you want somebody walking in on your hotel room, whilst you are maybe showering, are naked, having sex, being in a private situation etc. ? That is so totally wrong !!!! Please tell your staff that is something that is not at all appropiate.

Staying at Hotel Amalfi in the summer of 2021 freed up money for boat trips, purchases, and wonderful meals. The hotel is well maintained, with some rooms decorated with a modern feel and others in a more traditional style. Breakfast is on the roof terrace, with a pleasant view and plenty of espresso. Our room included an unexpected outside space with chair and table, opening onto a rear patio on an upper floor. The hotel's location is very convenient, up one flight of stairs from Amalfi's main plaza which made it easy to reach but restfully quiet at night. Management and front desk hosts were pleasant, professional and accommodating, making reservations for us at wonderful restaurants and giving practical advice, like how to catch the ferries to Capri and Positano. We were there to see the Amalfi Coast, not to impress anyone or pretend to be movie stars, so this hotel served our needs perfectly.

Stayed for one night. Arrived way to early but it was possible to get our room before and while we waited our bags could be stored. Super friendly staff! Great location, breakfast was alright, guess it depends on what you usually eat. Room was clean and nice.

The hotel is in a great location, everything is accessible and close! But the evening receptionist man is simply awful, ill-mannered, gloomy, never greets! And because of such unpleasant people, we will definitely not return to this hotel!А

My family travels a lot... this is the worst hotel we stayed. They are disrespectful and do not respect your privacy. We ask to no one disturb our room. 1st day when my husband and I were having “our time” the cleaning service open our door without even knocking. I jumped from the bed and held the door. I walked to the front desk and said - WE DO NOT WANT NO ONE COMING IN OUR ROOM DURING OUR STAY.(second time we asked). Next day we went for a walk on Amalfi Coast and when we came back guess what... the cleaning service came in our room WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. We went again to the front desk and ask to speak with the manager... the lady said there is no manager, no owner, no nothing to speak with. She was extremely rude and disrespectful. The rooms smell tabaco and the shower you need to sit down to wash your hair... ohhh when we arrived they left a bath towel that was soooo old and it was disintegrating...would hurt your skin to dry with that. On the breakfast they serve old fruits that you will get sick if you eat that. The frigobar had the door broken that you need to lift the door to close it We are still waiting to speak with the manager. Don’t stay at this s#%! place. Zero customer service!!!!
