Wonderful hotel with amazing location. The reception and concierge are very nice and helpful. We stayed in a suite facing the ocean with private balcony. There are couple of restaurants in the hotel which are very good. The buffet breakfast has almost everything and la carte menu added. There is a shuttle available to take us from hotel till the town. Just 5 min or less drive. I highly recommend this hotel.
A spectacular Hotel! Location is cliff side and on the water. Staff was extremely helpful in every way. Definitely warrants their 5 star rating. Beautiful rooms and grounds. The pool is heated, salt water and right on the sea.
We came to Amalfi for a wedding and stayed at the hotel Santa Caterina, we’ve never been to this part of Italy before and although a little way outside of Amalfi itself I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in, in my life! It is simply fabulous! The staff are so attentive it’s unbelievable! I’ve never experienced service quite like this ever before and we have stayed in the Maldives, marina bay sands and the savoy! I can’t quite put into words how much the staff look after you here, all of them as well, not just one or two. It was a complete joy from start to finish and Gennaro in particular bent over backwards to help and assist us during our stay. What a dutiful and endearing gentleman, he is a total asset to this hotel! It really is beautiful and the photographs don’t do it justice! Stay here and you will feel like royalty! We miss you very much already! Rich and Lauren…
From the moment we checked in with Gennaro, till the moment we left, we felt like royalty! We were upgraded upon arrival (thanks again) to a beautiful room. Everywhere you look inside and all around this property is breathtaking! They pay attention to detail. The included breakfast was absolutely wonderful too. I highly recommend staying at this stunningly beautiful property!
Excellent position and landscape. Room great and very comfortable. At your disposal there was the shuttle to Amalfi Platform over the sea was insuperabile Otherwise the cook wasn’t that skilled with egg Benedict and even if I was asked to the favorite papers for the day after, I wasn’t served with the items
Wow. This hotel. Every single detail was taken into consideration with our stay. The beach club area is the place to be - and we made sure to take full advantage of this. We were able to enjoy morning/early afternoon by the water and later in the day in town for dinner and drinks. The breakfast and lunch views and food were amazing. The staff was more than helpful in coordinating rides and the shuttle to town was perfect to get back and forth. The room itself was gorgeous and the service was phenomenal. Constantly came home to a clean room, and anything we needed was available to us. I wish we could have stayed here for many more days. We will be back, and recommend this to anyone looking for the best views and experience in Amalfi.
After 5 trips to amalfi and 5 amazing stays at the Santa caterina hotel I must write about my current experience …the detail and accents and hospitality I experienced was beyond any hotel I’ve been to on this planet . Every inch of this exquisite hotel is thought out and polished . Although the views can never get better somehow the hotel seems to evolve with new amenities and intricacies that only the the finest hotelier could embellish upon .bravo to Crecenzo and his fantastic staff the Santa caterina resort and spa is an absolute one of a kind that should be on everyone’s bucket list …..thank you Tommy Pooch
One of the best!!! The hotel takes care of you like you are family. We took 4 couples to the Amalfi coast and had the pleasure of staying here. The concierge team (especially - Giovanna and Matteo) went above and beyond helping us plan this trip and make it one to remember. My husband (who has traveled the world) said he has never experienced service like you do at this hotel. Yes, the hotel/rooms are somewhat rustic, but this is Italy, not NYC. The service, location, food and cleanliness make it five star and beyond. I can’t wait to go back!!!!
I loved this hotel. The rooms are a little outdated, the plugs sometimes don't work, there were ants roaming around....but something about this spot is just amazing and you feel like you are living on the Amalfi coast in 1967. Service was impeccable, Alfredo made everything perfect in the upstairs bar. The staff were some of the best I have ever encountered, professional, formal and totally accommodating. They organized a private boat to our next stop on Capri. I mean, its weird, I feel like i could pick on a few things here or there with the rooms, but everything else is so impossibly great that the outdated room features aren't really a concern. I would go back and for more than 3 days next time. Maybe I can move in for the summer!
Rooms are beautiful and location is stunning for sure, rooms have exceptional views and housekeeping is excellent. But experience don’t measure up. Restaurant experience is very average. Breakfast is a huge buffet, but even that is meh, choices of items (other than pastry which is definitely excellent) are really average in my opinion. We tried to order a soft 5 minute egg for 3 days and never did the kitchen get it right. The restaurant for lunch is ridiculously expensive, and the food is seriously average. When you’re at the pool or beach and swimming in the sea, you want to eat fresh, local produce , which is spectacular in the summer, simple pizzas and fresh seafood, seafood pastas, grilled simple fish, tomato salads, prosciutto melone, not Michelin starred chef food. Even the simple Tuna salad (which I had to Instruct to make my own), had mediocre quality tuna sott’olio. Plus, they treated us like dumb foreigners. I am a part-time resident in Italy (this is not my first rodeo), and they were not very nice in the lunch restaurant. The pool staff was the best, and the Maître D, at cocktails was charming amd treated us with total respect, on an up note. I’ve traveled extensively in Italy all over (especially in summer) by the sea, at many 5 star hotels, and this isn’t what I am looking for. If you want a bunch of Americans who want to dress up and prove they can afford the place, this is your spot. Expected better - Disappointing.…
