The the five-star luxury rated Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel hotel was once home to Capuchin Monks and today is one of the most distinctive landmarks on the Amalfi coast. The hotel has a rich history that dates back to the 13th century, while its location is simply breathtaking as it sits on a cliff-edge overlooking the Italian coastline. Amalfi’s historic town center is a short walk from the hotel. Most of the 52 rooms at Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel come with spectacular views and elegant white decor with terracotta tile finishes. Our Suite is unique with a 19th century frescoed ceiling. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in each room. The hotel offers delectable cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Enjoy a lavish buffet each morning and a casual lunch at the open-air La Locanda restaurant. Dinner is served in our main restaurant which features a panoramic terrace and cooks up unique Mediterranean and Italian dishes. On the rare chilly day, we also serve drinks indoors at our laid-back bar. Take an invigorating dip at the infinity pool with views over the sea or relax in one of our two reading rooms. There is also a gym and spa on-site.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at Grand Convento Amalfi. The service staff was top-notch, very helpful and attentive - friendly and inviting. The room was big and comfortable with an awesome view of the coast. The breakfast was very good, restaurant delicious and perfect service. We highly recommend this hotel for your stay on the Amalifi Coast.

Amazing location, very professional and kind staff. The food at both restaurants is delicious (you cannot miss the “delizia al limone”). The view from the hotel on the bay is breathtaking. You would like to stay here forever… If you will be in Amalfi, don’t miss it

Location was fantastic, entire staff is warm and accommodating, rooms are lovely and meticulously maintained, food and drinks are extraordinary! There is a personal touch everywhere. The centuries-old Cloister, where wedding ceremonies are held, is beautiful. Walking the ancient outdoor garden paths to the beautiful infinity pool area is magical. We can not wait to return!!!

This is a true five star hotel that deserves more than five stars. I truly doubt that I will ever stay in a more superb hotel anywhere. There are many reasons for my review. First, the staff are extremely professional and took extraordinary steps to make our stay relaxing. They seem to be everywhere, and are always smiling. Really great. Second, the location and hotel are magnificent. Our room had a terrace with a hot tub. The view of the water and the village of Amalfi is breathtaking. The interior of the hotel is historic, and the hotel is very clean. Third, the hotel restaurant has an included breakfast second to none. Too many selections to even begin to list, with breads, local cheeses, fruits and pastries. While dining or at the breakfast, the staff are at your side making sure your choice of coffee, amaricano, capuccinno, etc., is hot. Marcello was one of the staff members who was so kind and helpful, and very professional. He made recommendations for us for places and things to do and see, and for dinner. Fourth, I had a massage and it really helped my ailing back pain. The front desk also arranged for a traveler's fitness package with an on line video, for my use on the terrace. The list goes on and on. This was a truly great stay and I cannot recommend this hotel more than my review shows. Greatness.

This hotel was STUNNING! Simply a dream. It was so amazing it almost felt ethereal. I've stayed in many luxury hotels and this is by far my favorite. The views are breathtaking. Our room was nice with a comfortable bed and a terrace. Each hotel staff person from the front desk, to the shuttle drivers, to the waiters to the pool staff were all extremely warm, kind and accommodating. The breakfast was phenomenal. So many delicious options, fresh juice, an outdoor omelette station, and terrific sweeping views of Amalfi. The grounds are filled with lemon groves, a chefs garden, wisteria etc. Theres a free library in the old chapel. This hotel even smells amazing, as if you're in a spa. Attention to detail, ambiance, and customer service second to none! We can't wait to come back. My only tip: arrange your free hotel shuttle in advance of your arrival in Amalfi. We had a bit of confusion on how to get to the hotel on the first day, but after that, shuttle was super easy once we knew what to do.

My husband and I stayed at the Anantara Convento in early May for 6 days; they had just reopened after renovation and rebranding from NH to Anantara. While the views are beautiful, there were a number of issues with the property as well as the staffing. As we arrived on May 2, the employees still seemed to be learning their roles, and the service did not have the polished feel that you expect at a place with this price point. Our biggest complaint was the LACK OF TEMPERATURE CONTROL for each room. The entire property had no air conditioning until "later in the month" (really?), even though the temperature in the room was probably 26 C, and we were expected to just keep our windows open, even though there were bugs, bats and birds outside the window - and our first night my husband found a huge grasshopper on the bed pillow. Despite talking with the very courteous desk staff, there was nothing that could be done about turning on the air conditioning for the rooms, so we were just given a fan. Re the dining, there is really only one restaurant (they are named differently at lunch vs dinner and have different menus), and while the food was very good - we tried both dinner and lunch - it was much more expensive than other restaurants in Amalfi, and the atmosphere was very cold, pretty but formal with very few customers. It just wasnt a place we wanted to hang out and relax, so we ended up walking into town for almost every meal. We tried to use the spa, having pre-scheduled a couples massage for our second day there, but were informed just before arriving that only one therapist would be available all week, so no couples massage was possible. The decor of the rooms is nice, although very little counter space in the bathroom, and poor bathroom lighting. The hallway on floor 5 was noisy as luggage clattered down the long tiled corridor. The property could use better wayfinding signage from the elevators, as the layout is very complex; a map would be helpful for guests on checking in, along with an explanation of the shuttle to town and the how to find the walking pathway (which we had to ask for on day 2). I'm sure the service will improve as the new mgmt provides more training for the staff, but for the price of the rooms and lack of appealing dining, I'm not sure I would stay again at Anantara Convento di Amalfi.

Dear Guest, On behalf of all the team here at Anantara Convento di Amalfi Grand Hotel, thank you for taking the time to review our Hotel and for letting us know about your stay. The first thing that is deserved is to express my sincere regret and extend you deep apologies for not granting your expectations. Of course, I can assure you that what you wrote does not reflect out concept of hospitality and our style of work. I am happy that you appreciated the accommodation and the amazing view of the Amalfi Coast you can admire from our hotel. Its privileged location, surrounded by nature contribute to making our location unique and extraordinary. In addition to this, our attention to details and room cleanliness make our clients live a memorable Experience. Nonetheless, I do deeply regret not having you totally granted the same treatment, preventing you from experiencing small inconveniences in your room. As I previously mentioned, we are surrounded by lemon and orange trees, magnificent flowerful gardens. We apologize for the inconvenience with the air conditioning, but we kindly invite you to note that the malfunction was independent of our will. As for the Spa, I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed that our therapist was not available while you were staying with us, but unfortunately she had an health issue. This was totally unexpected and we informed our Guests immediately. I truly hope to have you again as our Guest in the future in order to guarantee you an Anantara Experience and a special treatment in the marvelous surroundings of the Amalfi Coast. Kind Regards, Giacomo Sarnataro General Manager
