As an American living in Brasil, I have traveled to many places throughout the northeastern part of the country... This is a no-frills, remote place where I was treated to a clean and comfortable bamboo room, beautiful views, nice ocean breezes and great hospitality! The included breakfast was simple and healthful.. No in-room tv or internet wi-fi i.e. no technology = a perfect place for romance and seclusion... wifi available in the eating area. The small village of Sagi offers little, but the friendly natives make up for any seclusion and will keep you anonymous. This is a great place to relax and do nothing except take a walk on the beach, swim, dune buggy, etc....

I stay with my boyfriend for 5 nights at Sabambugi, everything was just perfect! The room was incredible, extremely comfortable and designed with good taste maintaining a perfect balance with the nature that surrounds it. The balcony has a beautiful view, you will want to stay there all day in the hamaca! The breakfast was delicious, everything was fresh and home made. Finally, the hosts were very helpful and kind with us, they gave us all the tips to discover Sagi, its nature and spirit. We can´t wait to go back to Sabambugi!

I stayed in Sabambugi for 10 days in January 2013, it was wonderful experience. The location of the Pousada is overwhelming, with a view which makes you reconcile with life, every morning when you open the window that opens to the sea and sky, and laid on your "infinity" bed just taking that perfect landscape, eyes and heart wide open to the beauty of it. The owners of the Pousada are just perfect: discreet, charming, friendly and always with a good suggestion about what to do and where. The room is ample, simple, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is really good in quality and quantity, all freshly home made. If you are looking for and idyllic setting in a breathtaking beautiful place, this is it! Plenty of sun, warm water, small charming and unpolluted river, quiet and picturesque little village still free from hordes of tourists. That's Sabambugi and much more. Special thanks for my friends Rand and Liberato(our hosts ) for a fantastic time. Hope to return soon :0) Paulo

Sabambugi is a pretty amazing and unique place to stay in the small, still relatively off-the beaten track fishing village of Sagi. The bamboo construction seems to hover on the hillside , overlooking gorgeous views of the Sagi river and the sea. Hosts Liberato and Rand strike that perfect balance between being attentive and allowing you privacy: they're they're for you serving amazing breakfasts and suggesting a great guide for the hike to lakes, but you can also totally do your thing. Because the rooms are located on the hill, they're very ventilated and so you beat the heat, even at the height of the Brazilian summer. Breakfast are delicious, with fresh, regional fruits and foods like tapioca , açaí and cuzcuz. Being on top of a hill also means quite a lot of steps to deal with, (and so unfortunately the place isn't recommended for people who have mobility issues) but the reward after a day at the beach and going up the mangroves by the river is a rustic but tasteful room with a hammock on the terrace , fresh air, and a comfortable, bamboo bed. Sagi is close to Pipa, a hip and busy beach destination, so day trips there will have you walking on red cliffs, visiting the natural reservation with forest hikes leading to a beach where dolphins frolic and turtles lay their eggs, windowshopping and eating at international restaurants. Then, back to the peace and quiet of Sagi. We always like to find really special places to stay on our trips, where character and charm are not contrived but a legit characterisitic of the place. Sabambugi made it quickly into our list of special places stay!
