Perfect start to our trip. We were in Italy for a biking trip and this was the first city we biked out of. Hotel is a short 10 minute walk to historic district - it was spacious and very clean. Breakfast was great and cappuccino excellent! Pool area and grounds are gorgeous! We would definitely stay there again. Sassi di... More

Mansion recently renovated with a lot of taste, nice breakfast (buffet) , friendly staff, nice pool, safe parking, wifi working well, walking distance to the Sassi, very quiet. I recommend if you plan to visit Matera.

whoever decided that a metal staircase was a good idea in a hotel must be mad. If the first person up in the morning was on the top floor then all you can hear is clonk clonk clonk as they come downstairs to breakfast. In a good position to walk into town, comfortable (albeit small) rooms, adequate breakfast and the... More

We are touring Italy in our 1967 Morgan sports car. After many days on the road, our priorities are secure parking, breakfast and good bath facilities. We were not disappointed! In addition to the above we indulged in the pool after a long dusty days. The staff is very helpful, the shower water and pressure the best yet, and the... More

We stayed here for two nights expecting a standard for the price. We paid the extra to upgrade the room, total of €338.00. The building is a nice old refurbished type and the location is fairly handy. The problem is that there is absolutely no noise insulation combined with a lot of reflective surfaces. You can hear other rooms toilets... More

Dear Guest, we are sorry that you couldn't sleep, but we don't think that is due to the house keeping service, that starts at 9.30 am after all the guests have had their breakfast, that is from 7.30 till 9.30, that to make sure everybody is already up, in any case even if somebody is still spleeping the hoover start... The hotel is a great place to stay while visiting Matera. It is not located in the center of town but in a quiet, residential area a short distance (walking) from the major sights. The staff is helpful and very accommodating. The hotel is also pet friendly. Loved our stay there. Would stay again.

Very nice hotel and very friendly and helpful personnel. Good breakfast. It has few rooms with nice style. It's not in the centre but it's reachable walking even if the road is not so nice for the evening.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to leave a feedback on your stay with us. We are pleased you found positive aspects despite the disappointing problem with the walkside, that has been fixed last week. I hope you do revisit our structure soon, in this way you will enjoy the renewed neighborhood. Warmest regards Domenica More

Matera is a spectacular place and I was sorry we were here just for one day. The hotel was good value and the staff very helpful. We had a nice room with a large outside terrace with two sofas to sit on. It is about 10 to 15 mins walk into the city. Breakfast was nice. Good for 1 to... More

The hotel staff really couldn't have been friendlier! We stayed in the loft rooms which were charming and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel is a little out of the town centre, we got a taxi to the sassi. Thoroughly recommended!

Would agree with all the good points already raised in previous reviews. It's basically an upmarket guest house, does not pretend to be an hotel and when we did price comparisons it fared well. If you want to pay a lot more to sleep in an updated cave in the Sassi with nowhere to park close by then try somewhere... More
