I stayed at the Westin Valencia for 3 nights in November. I had chosen this hotel due to the swimming pool and wellbeing area consiting of a sauna, a steam room and a sun-lounge area. About a week before arrival I received an email informing me that the pool would be closed for maintenance. Upon arrival, there was no other information about the closure until on my 2nd day I found out that they had closed off the entire wellbeing area, not just the pool. Whereas I appreciated that maintenance work was unavoidable I thought they could've communicated it better. After I came home one of their staff responded to my comment and said that an alternative was to use a public swimming pool outside of the hotel. Unfortunatley I wasn't made aware of that option when I enquired with the hotel staff. Another really disappointing incident was that the main bar and restaurant were closed for a private party from Sunday afternoon throughout the entire evening. The location of the hotel is not close to any major attractions in Valencia but the old town, city centre, and the City of Art & Science are all well served by public transportation or within 30 minute walk. The room I had was spacious and tastefully decorated. I loved the walk-in shower and separate bathtub and toilet. However, my outward-facing room was overlooked by the apartments on the other side of the street. I found it lack of privacy and rather noisy at times. Try asking for a courtyard facing room if you decide to stay here. I think they would give better privacy. My reservation didn't come with breakfast. I was ok to pay €28 for breakfast. The buffet consisted of a very nice spread of cold and hot food. However, trying to get a good coffee was a struggle. On the first morning I asked for an "Americano" and was served the batch-brewed filter coffee, which was really nasty. It tasted stale and somewhat like it had been reheated several times. The second morning I asked for a cappuccino instead. It was again really aweful. The frothy milk they poured into it was cold. Overall I think although it's a very good-looking hotel, more care is needed when it comes to service.

Response from Beatriz Cuenda, Guest Services / Front Office at The Westin Valencia
Responded 1 week ago
Dear Mr 74gordon, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations during your recent stay at The Westin. It's disappointing to hear that the communication about the wellbeing area closure wasn't clear, and the alternative options weren't properly presented to you. Privacy and noise issues with the outward-facing rooms can definitely affect the stay, but it's great to know that the room itself was spacious and well-decorated. Regarding breakfast and the coffee struggles, it's surprising that a hotel of that caliber would fall short in such a fundamental area. A good cup of coffee can make such a difference in the morning, so it's unfortunate that they missed the mark there. Your insights are really valuable for anyone considering a stay here. Please know that we take your comments seriously and value your feedback. Once again, I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Beatriz C. Westin Experience Specialist.

This luxury, rated Hotel, the Westin in Valencia, Spain is everything anyone would want for accommodations and ambiance!!!! A warm welcome was given as we exited the airport transfer, which was greatly received. The entire staff was over the top as far as communication amongst their colleagues to communicate from shift changes of the client’s requests. This indicates to me that there is a great amount of sincere care generated from management to all employees. The hotel itself is located in a great location to reach all attractions and shopping and dining desires. Every detail on a daily basis was taken care of by the cleaning staff for the rooms and waitstaff at breakfast, and throughout the hotel! I travel and stay over 200 stays in a hotel per year. This had a feeling of genuine care and comfort. We will be back!

The hotels fully lives up to the expectations as a 5 star establishment. The staff is attentive (special thanks to concierge Marc) and the rooms are spacious and quite. However they are in need of refurbishment in some areas, especially the carpet. The A/C is extremly loud.

Short review. The hotel is beautiful, ideally located, service is great, rooms large , plush and comfortable, the gym with indoor pool is exceptional , lovely courtyard with an excellent restaurant etc etc . Best place to stay in Valencia, for sure . I cannot comment on breakfast as it was not included in my rate BUT : *There is no where to sit in the reception area, just stand and wait in line to start your luxury experience! *Pretty lame that a 5 star lux hotel does not offer espresso machines in the room. Especially in a European city *and you would think an outdoor pool , even small , could exist on the roof somewhere , though I do understand the historic nature of the building may make that impossible But the thing that is truly unacceptable is that the website, the app and even the physical signage all announce , with opening times and all, a Japanese restaurant that does not exist. False publicity is not a good look . And even if the misinformation is an oversight, not updating apps and web sites shows a lack of attention that is not worthy of a luxury brand

Lovely hotel. We had a room overlooking the courtyard and the view was beautiful. Room itself was very well appointed and bathroom was spacious with super shower. Didn’t eat here but had drinks in courtyard garden which is a fabulous setting.

Loved our stay here. The hotel was upscale and very close to Mestalla which was great for us as we were attending a Valencia game. I got upgraded to a suite, which was an incredibly nice room. We got a rollaway bed for our older son which was nice but I felt that costed us an extra 100+ in euros. We paid for a room for 3 adults and then paid for a 2nd bed as an extra cost I did not expect. Maybe its customary for 3 adults to share 1 bed? As a platinum member I was a little disappointed to pay another 35 euros for a rollaway after already booking a room that would accommodate 3 adults. I would love to come to Valencia and stay here again though.
