Room was lovely with two double beds. An excellent refurbished bathroom with walk-in shower. Breakfast and Dinner very good. Travel rules were changed by UK government part way through our stay. Hotel reception printed off our Passenger Locator Form at no cost which was very helpful.

Good location. Reception & staff were very good.5* Room & cleaning staff 5* and could not fault. Great view if up high but be prepared to wait for lifts which are small. Front bar good friendly staff 5* Entertainment rear bar waiter would take ages at the end of the night to return change after paying for drinks. He would collect glasses, clean and straighten tables & chairs before returning your money. 4* My only real problem, and a quite serious one was in the main restaurant. The front staff were 5* and could not have been more helpful as I suffer from Coeliac disease and have toe have a gluten free diet. Pedro would check with the kitchen each time to check what was suitable for my diet and was always extremely helpful. When Pedro was not working Pepa would do the same for me as Pedro. All the food is labelled with its description in 3 languages so to add Sin Gluten to the relevant labels would not be a major task to save waiting for a update each meal from the Chef. Some of the food was marked up 'Vegetarian' so why not 'Sin Gluten'. In the mornings I would ask for any of the staff for gluten free bread and it would be brought out from the kitchen for me. Which was good. On one occasion a desert marked gluten free was collected from the kitchen for me and when I looked at it I seen it was 4 days after its 'use by date', so had to be returned. A mistake in the kitchen which could happen from time to time if not checked by the kitchen staff. The main problem was when the main meal was chicken with a sauce which the Chef said was not gluten free but would cook me a piece of chicken in the kitchen if I wanted. It took about 30 minutes to arrive but was a 1/2 of a chicken so at that stage could not complain. Staring from the outside the chicken was quite tender but when I cut into the thickest part blood ran on to my plate. I then cut the piece in half and could clearly see it was not cooked through and more blood came out. I showed it to a waitress who took it straight away and threw it into a nearby bin. Pepa was notified and was apologetic. My concern then for the next few days was if I may have eaten any undercooked chicken which may have given me salmonella or campylobacter, but thankfully I was ok. Such a shame as the front staff were excellent in the hotel, but I think the kitchen can do much better. If I did not have the undercooked chicken I would have marked 5* but I thought that it could have been serious so dropped my score. I may return but would leave the chicken off my plate.

The experience here at hotel Victoria started off rocky, as there was an IT issue with their system which meant they couldn’t provide any guests with room key cards. The keys are all cards that swipe so this was the only way to open the room doors. So for the first few days we had to be let into our room by a staff member each time we wanted to go back in. This was slightly challenging when majority of the staff helping with this didn’t understand English. But considering the circumstances they did not make you wait a long time to be let in your room they dealt with it quite efficiently. Thankfully we got our room keys after a couple of days. Hotel location was perfect for what we wanted on our trip to benidorm as its in the old town, which is a much nicer area and where the Spanish locals go. Shops, bars, restaurants were all within close reach which was exactly what we wanted. The hotel is lovely inside very modern. Our room had 2 double beds together so plenty of space, the room was really modern, had great views from the balcony. The bathroom had not been updated like it looks on the photos. Unfortunately for us the food in the restaurant was abit disappointing. The breakfast selection was good and exactly what you would expect at hotel breakfast but there wasnt as much choice as I thought there would be for the evening meal. The quality of the food was very basic, alot of the same things each night, pizza, chips, pasta, rice ect. There was often fish being cooked by the chef on the grill and meats such as pork. We would of rather of eaten out every night as its cheap and good value for money in majority of restaurants, theres so many english pub style places to eat. Overall it was a lovely place to stay, the hotel felt safe and clean. All covid measures were taken with mask wearing at all times inside the hotel apart from when sat at the restaurant or bar. Temperature taken at the restaurant on entry and hand sanitiser everywhere. I would definitely go bed and breakfast if i stayed again and enjoy eating out in benidorm instead.
