We, a family of 2 adults and 2 teenagers, arrived on December 21st at around 11 am in the morning and found our rooms already ready, which was nice. The Hotel is situated in an ideal location, with a lot of very nice restaurants within a ten minute walk. Prado and Thyssen Musea are a 25 minute walk. Especially loved the Pool and the steam area. I think the nicest part was that it wasn't crowded and the location is just off the busy streets. The lounge area, the antique elevator and the overall decoration give the hotel a very pleasant feel. Not to forget the nice people throughout the hotel. Definitely will recommend!

Dear Honestly013, We hope that this message finds you very well and we would like to wish you a happy New Year. We are very thankful for the time that you have taken to write this wonderful review in order to share your experience with other TripAdvisor users. We are very pleased that you have enjoyed the location of the hotel and the many restaurants in its surroundings. URSO is certainly well located and it is a pleasure to read that you could walk easily to all the main attraction sites. We are also delighted to read your kind words about our spa, lounge area, antique elevator and the overall decoration of the hotel. However, what makes mostly proud is to read your kind and eloquent words about our staff. We want our guests to feel at home at every moment and whenever a guest writes great reviews about our coworkers, we feel overjoyed and happy. We shall share your comments with them and we will definitely congratulate for the great work. We hope that you will visit us in the future and we hope to have the great fortune to welcome you personally then. We wish you a wonderful day and we send you our most sincere wishes for this coming year. Best regards, Víctor E. Vacas General Manager

We stayed in the "family room" which was actually a wonderful two bedroom suite with a hall in between so we could close (and lock) doors for privacy if we wished. Two comfortable marble bathrooms, two sitting areas, great views over the city, large comfortable beds, plenty of light, espresso machine, bottled water, turndown service, no street noise, heated towels... everything was perfect! The location is wonderful as it's right in the hip Chueca area with loads of bars, restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We were able to do almost everything we wanted to do in Madrid on foot!
The breakfast was just amazingWonderful pastries, ballots ham and top quality smoked salmon (much better than the usual breakfast smoked salmon or ham). The poached eggs with truffle oil and sea salt are to die for. Also the berries and roses cocktail in the bar area is wonderful.

We only stayed one night, but wished we had a week. The lobby is understated elegance and also the area where delicious tapas and drink are served. This was a good dinner alternative for us, as we wanted to get up early for a flight to the US.

Our third floor room was spotless and very well appointed with all we needed, bottled water and a small treat left for us. Bedding and mattress perfect for us.

The vegetable stew for lunch was not to be missed, and our included breakfast buffet was served in another amazing room with a unique staircase.

Every staff member was helpful and willing to listen to our poor Spanish or converse in English. A shout- out to Juan Carlos at the door, aka Ray the Superman/King.

The hotel also thoughtfully arranged an appointment at a great clinic within walking distance for a return to US Covid test.

Immediately upon arrival, I knew the Urso would be a hotel that I would return to. The valet parking attendant was helpful, polite and efficient. The check-in was great. I had a small dog and they were so accommodating, providing a small bed and two bowls in the room (although the nightly charge was expensive for the dog). The room was exquisite, spacious, luxurious, comfortable, and the bathroom was perfectly appointed. The hotel's spa was wonderful. The hydrotherapy pool was great, very relaxing, and the steam room just what I needed after a long drive. The hotel felt like a home from home, and I will certainly return in the future next time I am in Madrid.

Breakfast was good, nothing special and expensive. The location was very convenient; we prefer locations that are not in the middle of the hurly-burly but still transit accessible and this location fit the bill. Right on the edge of happening Malasena and in easy walking distance of Chueca. Very helpful, professional staff. Lovely building. Very good lobby bar and comfortable, inviting lobby. The Turkish bath and pool in the Spa were a nice aded plus.

Stayed at Urso for two nights. I have previously stayed at Unico and other 5 star hotels in Madrid but was recommended this time to stay in Urso hotel.
Checked in to room 209 with my daughter on a Friday afternoon and when we came back from dinner at 21.30 in the evening (restaurants are serving meals earlier than before during the pandemic) no turndown service had been performed and we had already used our towels etc and were looking forward to clean new ones for a shower next morning. I call the reception and the reception says that there is no guarantee that turn down will be done earlier in the evening. Can happen anytime between 6 and 10 I was told.
I then said to reception that no turn down needed but please send water to the room. Nothing happened and I went out into the corridor and found a stressed employee who I asked why turndown did not work and no water etc. She then told me that the hotel is understaffed and that there are too many guests in the hotel. This is of course not nice to hear..
Breakfast is also a varied experience. We were luckily very early in the morning before other guests arrived so we did get served but when the big rush came at 9-10 am it was quite chaotic and many guests were waving their hands to get some attention and served coffee etc.
Shower was also a bad experience. Leakage and small cabin made the showering experince quite unpleasant. Cheap looking small cabin.
So all in all a very mixed feeling. I might give this place another chance but that is it. Hotel Unico for example is truly ecellent and service there has always been perfect.

Dear dagGothenburg_Sweden, First of all, we would like to express our gratitude for your input and comments about your recent stay at our hotel. We are very sorry to read that your experience with us has not been pleasant. My team and I strive daily and do our best to offer our guests a memorable and unforgettable stay, and it is evident from your comments that we have not reached our goal during your visit. We offer you our sincerest apologies for the bad time we have put you through during the first night of your stay. It is true that when you came back from dinner your turndown service had not yet been made. Nonetheless, we would like to underline that the girl in charge of cleaning has immediately come up to your room to offer the service. Being conscious of our mistake, we apologized and offered you an immediate solution to our error. We also guaranteed you to get the turndown service the following day at a specific hour, which could not be done accordingly because you left the “ Do not disturb” sign throughout the evening. I am very sorry that you have perceived our cleaning staff overloaded and stressed. At URSO we are very confident of our trained and skilled staff that allows us to offer a much more personalized service, usually praised by our clients. Again, I thank you for your comment, which will be taken as an opportunity for improvement. We hope that in your next stay in URSO we can reverse your previous experience and earn your trust. Best regards, Victor E. Vacas General Manager

I spent five nights here and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of excellent shops and restaurants and less than 2 kms to all major sights. The rooms are large, modern and comfortable with excellent bathrooms. Breakfast offers huge variety and is perfectly prepared. The lobby bar is a great place to unwind. Although I didn’t use the spa it looks beautiful and I was told the services are excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed here with our three little ones in one of the extensive family rooms. Two interconnecting corner rooms with the entrance cleverly combining together so there is one entrance and a short corridor between the rooms. Large, relaxing and very quiet.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Lovely restaurant and even the spa pool is available for the children to use for an hour in the morning.

Located in an interesting neighbourhood, near two metro stations or around 20 min walk to the very centre of the city.

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Urso Hotel in May. We love boutique hotels, and Urso did not disappoint. The hotel itself is beautiful, very quintessential Madrid style in its design, ultra modern and luxurious. We booked a penthouse room with a massive outdoor space on the roof, knowing that travelling with a little one (our 13 month old at the time) we would be spending a bit more time attached to the room then in the past. Our room itself was a little oddly shaped (long and narrow) but again, beautifully designed, comfortable, and the outdoor space was incredible. We did feel it was a bit pricey, beyond the cost of the room things like room service etc were $$$$$ and any time we needed something in the room, or they forgot to bring orange juice with our breakfast order for instance, we were charged incremental (leaves a bit of a sour taste given the price of the overall experience) so this is something to keep in mind. I made use of the spa during our stay and it was a great experience and space, would still recommend as a lovely option in Madrid.

This hotel is probably one of our favorites we've ever had the opportunity to stay in. Gorgeous rooms, great breakfast, perfect location. What we were most impressed with, however, was the staff. The concierge we worked with most, Nicolas, exceeded all of our expectations. He went above and beyond to help us find a New Year's Eve reservation; he assisted my husband with planning a surprise excursion to a vineyard; and he also recommeded some incredible local restaurants to us. He just overall elevated our vacation. Will be recommending URSO to everyone we know that is planning to visit Madrid.

Thanks, Urso and Nicolas!

Dear Ana, The Buildin across the street, the Palace of the Count of Villagonzalo, was built in 1748 by the Marquis of Ustáruz. From 1862 to 1866, the Count of Villagonzalo commanded several modifications to the architect Juan Madrazo y Kuntz, who restored the palace inspired with ideas of Viollet-le-Duc and with references to the 19th century Isabellan period. Until the beginnings of the 21st century, the palace was occupied by the descendants of the Count. This historical building is currently undergoing a meticulous restoration due to its cultural, architectural and historical heritage. If you dont want noise from the construction, we have rooms on the opposite side so, do not hesitate to contact us if you want to stay next mont. I look forward to welcoming you soon at URSO Hotel.
