The hostel is in a fantastic location and is very clean. But I will not stay here again for three reasons. One, guests need to leave the key of the room at reception, and ring the hostel entry door bell to get in. All day and night there were guests ringing bell to get in, the bell loud n clear...

This was a cheap but good place. Nice service and a really good location! A lot to do in the area. At night it is a little bit noisy.. but that is the city I guess. Lot of good restaurants in the area and near by big places. I would really recommend this place!

This place is clean and basic. The entire city is quite noisy, so Madrid is probably not for you if you are looking for peace and quiet. But I found the room to be reasonably quiet and the staff was polite. The neighborhood was great, and great for walking and shopping and seeing the sites. There are many bars and...

Fine for a quick overnight stay; nothing special but is priced accordingly. Great location and just a few minutes walk to the closest metro station. I checked in late at night circa 11pm- be careful as it is easy to miss when walking past, so keep an eye out!

Good Wifi and air conditioning. You have to ring the bell each time for the hotel staff to let you in. Very safe...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
