Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.

My family stayed at Hotel Miau on 2 occasions in September. The first night, we had a group of 4 in one room, and although the room was typically European small, it was sufficient for us and our luggage. I will say that the shower in the room was tiny. The air conditioning

I've just returned from 4 nights in a lovely room overlook the square. It was very clean and the bed was comfy. The aircon was very efficient and needed in a very hot September. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We’ve stayed on the fringes of Santa Ana square four times in the last six years. We enjoy it’s vibrancy and great bars and cafes, but the drawback can be late night noise. This was our first time at Miau and despite staying on a Saturday night we weren’t disturbed once we’d

Thank you for your reviews. Also the confusion that you had when you made the booking was problem of the webpage that you made your reservation. When you made a reservation in a hotel you have the type of the room and the capacity of them. You have to see both information when you made your reservation. Type of the room is twin room and capicity is the number of persons that you want to make the booking. Also this is not a problem of the hotel, is the webpage that you made of reservation and it was not the web of the hotel. Regards

Yes but the one fixed in our bathroom didn't work. Reception will lend you one which DOES work but you've to hand it back when your hair is dry. If you shower every morning it's a bind having to grovel for a hairdryer.

What does it cost to park our car next to the hotel??
Good evening. The Santa Ana´s parking costs 26€ per day with our hotel discount. When you arrive at the hotel ask our reception staff about the discount ticket. Regards.

"Rooms overlooking the Plaza have a lovely view and are sound proofed for comfort ."
"Ask for a room that opens onto the central courtyard as the street, though small, can be noisy."
"Rooms at front have a view, at the back no view but probably quieter."
"Rooms over looking the square have nice views but can be a little nosier due to bars and cars going by."
