This is a small hotel and a great value,.but much more important to me was the location and the people. It is just a quick walk from the trifecta of museums, great churches, plaza Major, Sol, Palace, Retiro garden,........ The staff as very helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Being right in the middle of so many things to see... More

The room was clean and well kept and comfortable, was well located with Plaza Santa Ana just around the corner and other tourist site nearby, the amenities where just right for its cost. The staff was very kind, helpful and polite.

Good hotel, close to Plaza San Ana, the heart of the Madrid's movida. The hotel is 400 mt far from the nearest metro station (Sol); during the night is easy to hear the noise from the other rooms. The breakfast is good, in a room that is just out of the hotel, 5 mt I mean. The reception is very... More

Good location, good staff, good room, good breakfast, good stay - to sum it up. Location was in walking distance of most of the main attractions (husband had knee replacements a year ago). Staff were very helpful and pleasant (24 hour reception). Room was as expected and cleaned well daily and aircon worked. Breakfast was 2 doors away and worth... More

Miau is in a great location, on the plaza st ana so in very close proximity to lots of cafes and restaurants as well as a 10 minute walk from the puerto del sol. We did experience a few problems- the walls are so thin and it is next to a busy plaza and so we were woken up early... More

Make no mistake - this is not the Ritz. Some of the fixtures are cheap (the shower doors came off the tracks, and the electrical outlets were stiff), and the interior decoration featuring large pop murals and blue lights won't be to everyone's taste. But who really cares? The location is superb, the price very affordable, and the staff bent... More

We have been visiting the Hotel Miau for a number of years and found it convenient, reasonably priced and relatively comfortable. We were telling a cousin how much we enjoy visiting Madrid and she and her husband decided to come with us for a short break. We contacted the hotel months ago and received confirmation that we could have the... More

Last minute stay in this hotel and the receptionist was so helpful it was great. We had issues with another reservation and the guy at the desk was so helpful and understanding it made everything better. The room was small but clean and the service was 1st class.

We stayed at hotel Miau for a weekend. The room was tiny, the bed was tiny and the heating didn't seem to work. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the neighbours actually going to the toilet, not just the flushing of the toilet. There were cigarette burns on the furniture which just looked unsightly and tatty. The... More

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
