Based on the exterior of the hostel, I wasn't expecting much. But the hostel was actually recently updated and clean, with helpful staff. It is in a central, although very touristy, location right near the metro. Being right across the street from the metro was the best part!

The building is nice with an elevator. The staff was very kind, room was comfortable with air conditioner and heater and a great shower. Perfect location near metro, shops, and restaurants. Area is safe. Inside building is very quiet. Very happy with my decision to stay here.

Good location but can be hard to find as their are 3 hostal fuencarrals! This is the one right next to Michael Kors. Clean rooms with everything you need. The front desk was very helpful and friendly.

I loved everything about the hostel. From having your own bathroom and how clean and modern everything looked! The people on reception were amazing even on our forth day gave us extra towels and toilet rolls. Location is amazing you can walk to anywhere from it. Truly made our stay in Madrid the best. It's also very affordable! Can't recommend...

Lovely, new, amazing location, friendly staff - perfect. Don't hesitate. Really clean, nice atmosphere. On the doorstep great shops and right in the middle of town. I think it is terrific value for the price they charge.

Located is great just a few metres away from Gran Via, small cosy room which is very modern and comfortable, great shower and just enough for a holiday if you are looking for a good priced hostel with a private bathroom. The receptionist who was there everyday was very helpful too and spoke great English (which is a big plus)...

This hostal is fantastic for a weekend in Madrid, right in the middle of the hip area Chueca and Malasana, The reception is very small and bright and Marina who works there is absolutely fantastic. She can help with anything from sightseeing, restaurants and travelling around Madrid. You can walk around to anything. All rooms has shower and toilet and...

A pleasant place, clean and centrally located in shopping areas and good restaurants. I enjoyed the super white linen sheets, stain free and fresh. Cleaning service is prompt and the staff are super helpful. Am coming back again! Super! price is reasonable for the location and its homely ways.

Cute little hostel on a cool shopping street. Very central, easy access to the center and fun barrios as well as to public. Simple but contemporary design, great shower. I asked for a quiet room and got some great rest. My room only had windows to a lighting court so not sure how it is for a longer stay. Jose...

If you are looking for a place to sleep (and not much more) you are at the right hotel. The room is clean, you can have a decent shower, you can sleep. Pricing compared to other Spanish hotels average. The bed is small, the room isn't much bigger, you don't want to open a window because of the stench just...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
