It is the worst hostel I've ever get we arrived in the evening in Madrid, and suddenly there was a sign that the location was moved without confirmation before. we called them on phone and they both (the owner) arrived picked us up and suddenly acted so rude that we have to pay 260 something, the man snapped to us...

It is my own stupid fault for staying here! If I had of done the sensible thing of reading previous reviews we could have avoided our worst Hostel Experience yet. They did send us an email saying the reception wasn't open 24/7 and to call when we arrived, however WE ARE BACKPACKERS! Which means we are not travelling with a...

I'd love to say i've been at worse hostels, but I haven't. When we arrived the hostel we found a note that if we were at this entrance we 'probably didn't receive the email that they have moved and we should call them to pick us up'. After reading that, I called them. When he arrived (he didn't even say...

Positive about the hostel: Location is great, quite close to the center and it was rather cheap. The WiFi was working well. (Very) Negative about the hostel: The room i stayed in was dirty (dust and hair on the floor, old cereal bars from former guest under the heating and dirty linens, which had steams that looked like blood). So...

Staying in Arguelles

Neighborhood Profile
Arguelles
Just south of the sprawling campus of the Complutense University of Madrid, Arguelles exudes a fast-paced, collegiate vibe. The main street, Calle Princesa, is filled with twenty-somethings rushing between classes and errands, meeting up with classmates, and grabbing cheap beers and cheap eats. This is a prime shopping spot where the major Spanish clothing and department store chains are less busy than their downtown counterparts, and there is an array of casual dining options to choose from. Check out nearby outdoor spaces such as the lushly planted Plaza de España to the south, which is often filled with craft stalls. To the west of Arguelles is the giant Parque Oueste, a calm and picturesque park with its own Egyptian temple.

“I stayed in the building with single and double rooms, and I really didn't like this location, MAYBE the location with the dorms are better.”
