Small Hotel, with small rooms located about 2 blocks from Gran Via Ave. Very friendly and helpful staff. Location is OK if you are a young, healthy person but it is 1-2 miles from major Madrid landmarks like Plaza Mayor, Retiro Areas. Clean and modern. Being a small hotel it is very hard to get a room before check-in time,...

Receptionist and service was friendly, love the location, perfect ❤️ hotel room was small but it is ok for me as long as the hotel have free wifi with good connection. Will definitely recommend this to a friend or family if they decided to come to madrid, looking for a good hotel with a reasonable price.

Had the pleasure of staying at abalu when we checked in for their sister hotel (hotel life). Reception staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel was beautifully decorated. We stayed in a twin room which again was beautiful, very clean and had all we needed. The shower was see through with a curtain for modesty so would suggest only sharing...

The room is nothing special. It's a solid three star hotel. The location is good. Farmacias restaurants and supermercados are convenient. Gran Via is a short walk. All in all its ok, but I was expecting a little something more. It could be that I just got one of the mediocre rooms,

Unfortunately there were so many things wrong with this hotel room. If you want a room in a reputable hotel close to restaurants, shopping and attractions, this is not your hotel. The bar next door was open until after midnight and difficult to get any sleep. The only good thing is that there is a flat fee of 30 Euros...

My first draft review of this hotel was far harsher than this but I wanted to be fair as possible so I waited until our final night to write this review. Pros for this hotel are the area in which it is located; with many good night spots and restaurants. For the most part the staff is helpful and accommodating....

This is a funky boutique hotel in central Madrid. The rooms are not large, but they have great "arty" décor. It is located in a narrow street with restaurants nearby. The staff are really friendly and helpful. It is well located being only a short walk from Grand Via and an easy walk to the Prado and other sites.

Great location for exploring old Madrid. Excellent air conditioning, very quiet with the double glazed windows closed. A small but functional room. Located in an interesting lively street. The staff were really helpful and friendly. We took advantage of the pick-up and drop off at the airport. Will recommend to friends who may come to Madrid. Breakfast very good.

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
