check in wasn’t so pleasant nightmare actually, until anabel showed up she made my life much easier. the guy before her ‘NO’ is the only word in his dictionary and he is not a 5 stars material, pribably should be in a motel. zaha hadid rooms are stunning but not livable no drawers small hanging place bad if u dont travel light. couldnt even store my socks or place my bottle of water next to my bed. good for a night or two max! the rooms in the 4th floor are more accommodating but avoid them if ur claustrophobic and clumsy breakfast buffet wouldnt call it a 5 stars buffet and the fried eggs are horrible rooftop bar is closed, gym is closed so basically its more of a bnb kinda stay, maybe during covid or sthg i strongly recommend this hotel for the art and not for the services provided or the comfort of the rooms!

Dear Samers875, Thank you very much for choosing us and for sharing your psitive feedback. The observations of our guests are very important to us as they give us the opportunity to review areas and services of the hotel that need attention. We are aware that some of our risky designed spaces do not satisfy everybody's expectation. But we are glad to know you feel more comfortable in Zaha Hadisd's room. Where the most outstanding feature is the spaciusness and clean lines conferred by the white colour of the floor and walls. Inside the room, everything seems to issue from the wall and gives the impression that, at the guest's orders, it could be stowed back into the wall, futuristic lines characteristic of Hadis's arquitecture. Please during your stay with us, contact our staff in order to help you with any matters you may have. We will be delighted to help you. Our main goal is to always exceed positively the expectations of our customers by proving a good service and I really hope you give us the chance to show you that we are able to provide you a great experience. Kind regards

Stayed 3 weeksin this hotel this year. Was here also a couple of times a few years ago. What is good about the hotel: design, looks pretty, very friendly and helpful staff, good quality beds and linnen, proper laundry service, adequate cleaning staff. What can be better: the gym, swimming pool, bar and restaurant were closed during my stay (I like to go for sports after work), the breakfast is overpriced (€25), not all floors were open (important because each floor is designed by another architect and looks totally different, some clients like a specific floor). On floor 4, the power supply was very far from the bed so it was not possible to charge my laptop when I was using it in bed. Over ok but some things can be improved.

We’re huge European city break consumers, with the Cote d’Azur and all the Nordic capitals being at the top of our regular visits but we don’t really do Spain. We thought we should break the 20+ year absence from Spain with a trip to Madrid due to seeing the hotel on a Channel 4 travel show. Each floor is themed to a different designer or architect. We came more for the hotel than the city and the hotel did not disappoint. We took a Zaha Hadid suite and it was by some margin the most interesting hotel room we’re aver stayed in - an igloo sculpted in Corian, with the theme carried through to the bathroom featuring the largest bath I’ve ever seen. We stayed in early March 2020, missing the coronavirus lockdown by a matter of days and given the time we spent in crowded tapas bars it seems we had a lucky escape. The highlight apart from the hotel was a visit to the Museo Reina Sofía, mainly to see Picasso’s Guernica, but this proved to be one of the largest and most fascinating galleries we’ve ever visited.

Dear Youfearchange, We are delighted by your nice words, thank you so much for sharing!! The Hotel Puerta América is a project that has brought together nineteen of the top architecture and design studios in the world, and what makes our hotel a unique place, where our guest can enjoy not only the avant-garde design but the creativity of the architects. In Zaha Hadis's rooms, the most outstanding feature is the spaciousness and clean lines conferred by the white colour of the floor and walls. It is a pleasure to know that you have enjoyed your stay with us and for our team it will be an honor to welcome you again. Regards

We were so fortunate as had the amazing chance to experience the Presidential Suite at the hotel. The suite was amazing, with great views over the city. We also had access to the executive lounge which had a good selection of drinks and snacks. The breakfast was lovely. Everything you could want. Cereals, bacon and eggs, croissants etc. You name it, they had it. The only tiny disappointment was when we had a free welcome drink and went to get it and the lady behind the bar made no attempt to help us with the language. Very bizarre as we made an effort to talk Spanish. When another waiter brought the drinks he had unbelievable English. Perhaps the lady was having a bad day. That one disappointing experience was only small and everyone else we talked to was so helpful and accommodating. Would definitely return to the hotel in the future as easy to get to the centre of Madrid from the close metro (Cartegena). We got the 200 bus from the airport which stopped close to the hotel. 1.50 Euros each. Bargain.

An interesting eclectic hotel. My room was very basic given the prices, but I assume this was for artistic value and was certainly functional. Good location for catching the metro and travelling around Madrid (including the conference centre).
