This is a great option - more like a home stay than a hostel. Dori and her family are very helpful. There are 3 bathrooms all with toilet and shower, and not very many rooms so we never had to wait. Bed was comfy, aircon was powerful, and there was a fan as well. There was a fully equipped kitchen...

This hostel, is a very nice place, the rooms are spacious enough, with good service. Be careful when searching for the hostel, they are located in this big building, which has many hostels in it, so the sign can be missed easily. The only drawbacknisbthe location, the main area of Madrid is SOL, and this hostel is located one metro...

This hostel is actually a private home and a unit within a residential building. If you don't go looking for it, you could easily walk right by it. There is also another hostel in this same building. The rating should not lead you to believe that it is either luxurious or modern. It is safe enough, clean enough and in...

We stayed here for only one night but it was perfect for our needs. The owners were friendly. They spoke little English but our Spanish is non-existent so we can't complain! She was still able to show us all the key places to visit on a map. The room (a twin) was clean and comfortable and within minutes of us...

I spent 3 nights there with my girlfriend and it was a very good experience, we were warmly welcomed at a rather late hour and even had some recommendations to visit, where to eat an even a map to visit those places. Owners are super kind and they worry for the comfiness of their guests. The location is flawless, you...

It is a family house located in a perfect and central place. Offers all the facilities that you need (wc, kitchen, wasching machine, great wifi). But what I liked the most is the staff. Dora is a sweerheart and helped us with everything!

I really enjoyed staying here, even if it was for just one night. It's perfect if you are on a budget, because it costas like an hostel, but way more enjoyable if you are looking for rest and privacy. There's a well equipped kitchen, it's clean and perfect for long stays. It is so close to the centre yet it...

Its good but kind of weird. At night the street is very empty. And the owner lives there with her daughter. The bathrooms are clean but reaaaally small. We own 2 keys, one to enter the building and another one to enter the "hostel", the door is very hard to open. We have our own space in the kitchen to...

A warm welcome and clean rooms but the building was being renovated and consequently there was a lot of noise outside from around 8am. Shared kitchen, shower rooms and WC's. Free internet. Great central location and easy to get to by Metro from the airport.

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
