The location was perfect for my work, but seemingly devoid of any restaurants / nightlife in the evening. Room was comfortable, nice bed, it did feel like too much had been wasted on gimmicks though. The hotel corridors were pitch black, with weird blue LED under lighting. The room had a glass walled bathroom, with optional blind, iPod dock, laptop...

This hotel was horrible! I was there with work – 28 people. Firstly we didn’t get the conference room we had booked, because a larger group came along and their opinion was that our group could better fit in the smaller room - can you believe it? most of the front staff was incredibly rude. The second day, there was...

Stayed there for 3 nights from the the 31st May. Reception are friendly but location is bad away from the real action of Madrid. This hotel is supposed to be 4 star. Room was small. Just nothing special about this hotel at all. Not worth the rating of 4 star. Modern but no character. Shop around there must be better...

You'll get an excellent feel for this hotel from the stuff already written about it. I'd agree with just about everything. The hotel is clean, smart, with good staff and a good location. If I was staying with a group of friends and sharing / or on my first trip away with a new partner then I think I would...

A nice modern hotel, well thought out design with friendly staff. The complimentary bottle of cava was nice touch For the price you really can't fault this place especially its proximity to Serrano and the great shops. I've heard good things about the other Petit Palace and High Tech hotels too. The only minor gripe I had was some of...

I've stayed three times at this hotel and it was always very nice. My only complaint is that the rooms seem to be a little over heated and I always need to open the windows to cool the room off a bit. The suite rooms are by far the best. The one I had was a duplex and it had...

STAY SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! This hotel was horrible! I booked a family room with breakfast included and had a confirmation number, then the night before we left the USA, I got an email saying they couldn´t give us a family room anymore, but they´d give us two double rooms at the same rate including breakfast since we had three people. When...

Me nad my family stayed there over new year 2006/2007. It is very clean. The restaurant is expensive but there is a supermarket round the corner. I liked the fact that is situated away from the action of Del Sol. Posh shops are next street away. There is not much going on in the hotel but for me it did...

Design. Original. Clean. Comfortable. This is a hotel I would recommend to all aside for families who have kids... because the dark hallways with the neon lights are a little spooky. Other than that. Its a perfect 9 for a hotel. I never give a ten unless I stay at the Four Seasons on some Island or something (which I...

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
