Very well located, right in the city center, but in a calm area. You have metro transportation just nearby. It has a car park below, but it's not free, and the hotel will give it's guests 20% discount. It's an apart-hotel, with all the amenities you need, including a small kitchen, in a big open space room. Hotel has kept...

Right in the heart of Madrid these apartments give an interesting alternative to traditional hotel rooms. The apartments provided are quite spacious, but looking a little dated. You get at lest a lounge, a kitchen, a foyer, a bedroom and an en-suite bathroom, which is a lot for the money. The rooms are large and this would probably be a...

We stayed here on a lads trip away and to watch Real Madrid and to see what Madrid has to offer. It is a 10 minute bus ride to the stadium and a 15 minute walk to sol which is where the party is at. Location is brilliant. It doesn't have a restaurant as such but the Hard Rock Cafe...

If you are planning a few days in Madrid this is an excellent choice. Small studio apartments with kitchen facilities. The Complex is located in a great area..taxi stand and subway station nearby (if you are inclined to ride Madrid's often strenuous walk subways), Apartments have small refrigerator, stove, toster and essentials for light breakfasts and lunches. Staff friendly but...

I have stayed at Centrol Colon twice, once for five weeks last May and for two weeks this March. The first time I stayed I had two pull down single beds, which for me, were hard to pull down and lock in place. The second time, I had a double fixed bed - which was very comfortable. The rooms are...

The room is a little old, with pull-down beds. At first it seems odd, but it does add more space to the room in case you actually want to stay there for long. The kitchen is enough for an aparthotel, although I didn't use it. The bathroom had been refurbished.

This place is a kind of mixture between hotel and apartments. It has great location in Madrid (right at the Placa Colon) next to a metro stop. However, the place is rundown, the furniture has seen better days. The staff is indifferent and at times even quite rude. The price is OK for Madrid but you can do better. There...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
