Without a doubt the worst hotel experience of my life. To call it a "hotel" is an exaggeration. This supposedly 3 star property has all of the hallmarks of a bad hostel, but worse. You enter to a reception which looks like the backyard of a mechanics garage. The staff are unfriendly and unwelcoming. You ascend in a dirty lift... More

I wouldn't recommend it. Dirty, hard, and very worn towels, uncomfortable mattress and pillows. Very noisy with no noise insulation. Safe was not working. The room ventilator was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep.

We chose this place based on location and cost. The hall way looks dreadful and the lifts don't feel safe, but our room was clean and housekeeping came daily. We were always provided with enough toilet paper and towels (except for one day when our room just wasn't cleaned). Great location, round the corner from a shop and decent bar/restaurant.... More

The hallways look like a war zone - they started work but didn't bother to finish. There are no locks on the doors and maids walk in regularly. Internet is a disaster - half time it does work. Some refurbished rooms are ok once inside, but only take one if you're sure it's refurbished and it's cheap. Most of the... More

I had the worst experience ever in this hotel. The bathroom was filthy, moldy, the kitchenette was empty, apparently you have to request the microwave and kitchen hardware, you get it upon availability. The hotel is still in cement. The bed blanket was horrible. And the price is €130 per night. For that price you expect at least something clean... More

The staff is very cool at the reception desk, they were very friendly and fixed a "misunderstanding" with our rooms. The rooms are just fine if you are staying for one quick night and do not care about housekeeping. I would describe it more as a hostel than a hotel due to the cheap quality of the beds and the... Stayed here with my girlfriend on the recommendation of a friend Problems we had: Room: Old and dark with uncomfortable beds and sticky floor. Very few sockets (annoying when you have phones camera etc to charge) Bathroom door broke so I was locked in - girlfriend asked reception for help. They handed here a paperclip to pick the lock! Rooms were super old, dark, crwmped and with uncomfortable beds. To use a security safe box i had to rent a separate box at reception. Air conditioning felt like a fire breathing dragon after they said they were gonna have maintenance on it after my first night. Find somewhere better!

Its conveniently located but other than than is not good at all. Rooms in general are very bad and dirty. Beds are even worst. The hotel is cheap, however with such quality I think you can find cheaper ones nearby.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
