Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.

Dear MarkGuk, Thank you very much for the great remark you have shared with the other travellers. We are glad to know that our staff looked like you helpful and friendly, they are always willing to help. We have two type of rooms, standard and premium. Both types are nice and comfortable but it is true that the premium one is quite better that the standard. This kind of rooms have from 28 to 35 square meters and they are located on the best places of the building. The price of the premium is only 25€ more than the standard one. We hope to see you soon! Best regards David Cachavera

I love this well placed slightly old fashioned boutique type hotel in Chueca. The staff are friendly. Parking nearby is easy. It has large rooms with great bathrooms and is super comfortable. You are close to the centre yet driving into the area and out is super easy. I love it.

Outdated, poor hotel. Small rooms that need renovation. Service is also poor and be careful with their billing. They will try to fleece you. See for example other reviews about cancellations. That must be how they try to make money because it's not by running a hotel well.

Dear Joe B, We are sorry if you didn’t enjoy your stay in our hotel. We work hard to give our guests the best experience possible and we couldn’t do it with you, we are very disappointed. The hotel opened its doors in 2005 and during this time more than 1100 guests wrote about us (only in Tripadvisor). Actually the rate the guests give us in this site is 4,20 over 5. We invite you to read all the remarks about the hotel. The vast majority of the travelers give us a great rate (3,4,5 stars) and some of them didn’t like the hotel for their reasons, we always respect it, but never someone said that we overbilled them, we always charge you exactly the amount we agreed during the reservation. The hotel offers at the same time different rates, with different discounts, and different cancelation policies. With all the information in your hand, you decide which is the offer you want to reserve, free cancelation, non refundable, etc... During the reservation process you can read very clearly the conditions and restrictions of each rate and you have to accept it to make the reservation. There are a lot of circumstances we can study to make an exception, in case you need to cancel a non refundable reservation, but it must be a major cause. In other hand we want to let you know that we have two different type of rooms, standard and premium. The standard one have from 19 to 25 square meters and the premium ones have from 28 to 35 square meter. We invite you to compare this size with other hotels with the same characteristics. Best regards, David Cachavera
