We loved this hotel, excellent location, friendly and helpful staff too. The breakfast was great and the rooms well equipped and very clean. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back for another visit.

This was a third petit palace hotel during the same 4 days staying in Madrid as the previous hotels from the same chain were old, dirty and things wouldn't work. The family room was spacious and everything was clean. Breakfast was good but I had to keep asking for fruit that they run out. Very friendly staff and helpful. Eduardo...

Stayed here for a 3 night break with friends. Brilliant location; central to all the main tourist sights and the fantastic shopping opportunities. Felt safe walking back at night as it is just off the Grand Via. We arrived early on the first day and were allowed to check in at 11am which allowed us to get started exploring the...

Ok, the negatives first. Wifi is erratic at times and there are some (very) minor issues with the rooms. Shower showing some signs of wear and tear, in particular the shower base (mould). TV wasn't working either but it didn't concern me. A bar would be great for a night cap but there is a lack of ground floor space...

We stayed here for 3 nights in January 2017. The hotel is located just up a side street of Gran Via next to Primark, however some of the rooms have a small balcony that overlook Gran Via. Although it's noisy when you're outside, you can't hear a thing at night when you have the balcony door closed. The hotel itself...

Not typically used to good service at large hotel chains in the US, Petite Palace beat my expectations by a long way. The receptionist was really helpful with figuring out how to get around the city, accommodated all our later requests and was always ready with a welcoming smile. There were beautiful decorations (Christmas time) in the hotel, and the...

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
