I would have given a better review overall, but the place requires renovations. There was broken down formica in the room and some of the furniture was shot. The front desk people were helpful and the location was nice.

Better than expected, especially the great central location, just two minutes away from metro station Sol. One negative comment (and I'm sorry to write it ): there was an unpleasant smell of mold or moisture inside the bathroom, perhaps due to the shower walls that did not dry quickly, but if the bathroom door is closed, this smell doesn't get...

I often choose this hotel because right downtown and very comfortable. The rooms are vwry spacious. The only little problem is that you hear quite a lot of noise from the road at any hour. Of course you are downtown. Closer there is also a parking lot. The breakfast is very reach, with a lot of variety of food also...

Service, location and room outstanding !!! Close to metro and in the middel of centrum. We had the 6. floor with balcony, with a view over the central of Madrid. Only 5 kilometers from Bernabeu :-) Rooms are nice and clean. Perfect for a family of 4 people.

We wanted an overnight in Madrid which was centrally located and close to the metro. This location did the trick. The "Family Room" had two beds plus bunkbeds, so everyone had a place and there was plenty of space. Staff was friendly to the kids and helpful.

Hotel in right in the middle of the town, close to the palace. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. The outside noise is loud however this hotel is in the centre so to be expected. Hotel had slight signs of wear but didn't ruin our trip. Would recommend this hotel

The Petit Palace group of hotels is pretty good ( I loved the Petit Palace Arana in Bilbao) but this one is a disappointment. It's a bit shabby now and, although the location by the Puerta Del Sol seems great, the hotel is on one of the feeder streets and hordes of people go past your window until late. Very...

Nice hotel, clean and stylish; cosy room with all you need, including hydro massage shower. Very comfortable mattress. In wonderful position (pedestrian street, very near to Puerta del Sol). I booked this hotel for a five night stay based entirely on TA reviews and was not disappointed! Choosing a room with a balcony facing out on to El Arenal, I was immediately impressed by the massive king size bed, modern and very clean/fresh furniture and well appointed bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean, towels and linen (including bathrobes) were...

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
