Suggested by our travel agent and turned to out to be an excellent choice. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful; Ursula had provided good tidbits about choosing a restaurant and upgraded us to a balcony room for only €20 a night extra.

Room (Room 417) were clean, and the bathroom was almost as big as the room itself! The beds were comfortable and I got a decent sleep. Best part of this hotel was the location; 5 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, 20 minute walk to the Prado and a myriad of restaurants nearby.

I really enjoyed my stay and is first choice if I returned to Madrid

The hotel is very well located at Madrid's Gran Via in the very city centre. Sight seeing and shopping can be started right there by walking. The rooms are big and the standard is rather high for a 4* hotel. The building itself is magnificent! The employees are very friendly and obliging. The breakfast buffet is really awesome! The hotel lobby bar is very cosy and serves e.g. good vermouth.
Little drawbacks: If you have a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor while there is a party on the 1st floor, you might hear a little noise. However, we were on the 5th floor and it was quiet, and the party was over anyway around dinner time. Our room was not very brightly filled with light, since we only had a room with window to the patio. Nevertheless, this is not really tragic, since you would be a fool to spend your days in Madrid in your hotel room, no matter how nice the room may be... ;-) A pity was, that the roof top bar was closed when we stayed there in February.

Despite the small drawbacks, a stay in this hotel is highly recommended when visiting Madrid!!!!

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.
The room we received was different from the one shown in the pictures but the staff tried to help and find another suitable room.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Very central on Gran Via, facing the street but quiet and cozy.
The pool is not large but luxurious, cozy and refreshing during the hot summer days/
Breakfast was very good and since we left early on the last day we received an alternative meal - sandwiches, snacks and fruit.

Well, this stay could have been enjoyable but not so much. Let's start with the postive. The room was great (not sure though if we were upgraded with our Gold status as they did not say anything at check-in). The bed was super comfy and the mini sofa and leg rest were an awesome addition. I very much enjoyed the large bottles of soap, shampoo, body lotion... in the bathroom. A recycling bin would have been great. The TV selection was mediocre (hardly any international news channels or sports channels) like all hotels we stayed at in Spain.
Now let's get to the surreal part. You go to a hotel to sleep last time I checked. However, here, to make more money than they already do, they have a rooftop terrace where they decided to have a DJ !!! We were at least 5 floors underneath and we could hear and FEEL the music. We called to complain, they said nothing could be done. A gentlemen from the front desk came up to our room (mind you, we were in our pyjamas) to tell us that they had lowered the noise. Umm, no, they hadn't, I'm pretty sure that was a Jedi mind trick attempt. We never do this but we told them we would leave a bad review and the music was lowered a few minutes later.
Next morning we had a note under our door attempting to apologize but not really. We were worried about the second night but nothing. We suspect it's because of the soccer match.
And let's not forget that we were asked to pay 40 cts at check-out because we went over our 21 € Gold food credit. How cheap can it get !

We stayed as a group go 4 friends. We had two rooms and they were both well laid out.
The rooms had everything we needed and wanted plus the free water machines on each floor were very much appreciated! Ice cooled water is very much needed in 33c heat.

The location was fantastic and nothing was too much for staff. Upon checking in, our rooms were ready and our bags were taken upstairs. The staff explained everything about the hotel and offered advice was asked about places to visit.

The facilities of the cafe, bar, rooftop bar and swimming pool were great. The pool provides towels and a few deckchairs. TIP; it’s a place to sit and relax for a little while, not a sit by the pool pool!

The breakfast is well worth adding on or getting included. It was stunning. The range of food was fabulous, the service brilliant and the length of time it’s available suits all.

We didn’t use the gym or library so I cannot comment.

Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Just back from a wonderful 5 night stay in this hotel. Beautiful hotel, in a very central location, very helpful friendly staff on reception, especially Anna who arranged a balcony room for our stay. Although the hotel is in Grand Via, very busy street, when you close the balcony doors you don’t hear any noise at all. The rooftop pool was brilliant to cool off in the late afternoon after a day exploring. My only one very small criticism as that on a couple of morning when using the gym the personal trainer was in with clients and had they gym set up for them and we felt we were intruding in her space.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and were really happy with our experience. The location is fantastic. The room was spacious and comfortable. Despite the fact that our room was on the 2nd floor and had a balcony that faced the Gran Via, the street noise wasn't an issue at all. The bed was comfy and the room provided us with a great sleep quality. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks, towel warmer, big, thick towels, and a great shower. Like someone said before me, it did have a boutique hotel feel and a small lobby. I would definitely stay here again.

Came to stay in Madrid for a five night stay in order to see an opera at the Teatro Real and for some sightseeing so after looking through many different hotels I chose the Iberostar on the Gran Via. It’s a gorgeous hotel very well located centrally, my double room for single occupancy was wonderful, a really large comfortable bed, plenty of space to sit in the evening, and a large size bathroom. My room was facing the busy Gran Via but as the windows were soundproof you couldn’t hear a single thing so it was super quiet. The best thing of all in this hotel were the staff, from the team at the reception who were all super friendly and helpful and were able to give me as much information as possible, especially a mention the two ladies who were really helpful on my check out and were helping me get a taxi to the airport, to all the waiting staff in the bar and restaurant area their level of service was superb and nothing wasn’t too much trouble for them. Also the breakfast was amazing and there was so much choice. It was indeed a huge pleasure staying at the Iberostar and made my stay in Madrid even more memorable, I would definitely return.

Great combination of a historic hotel with an excellent central location. Feels more like a boutique hotel with the small reception and lobby, but once inside the history and character of the building and the large comfortable rooms and bathrooms make it feel like you are staying in a historic home. Original wood floors, high ceilings, large windows that open to the Gran Via below. The hotel offers a restaurant and bar and there is an independent Gran Clavel restaurant in the building that is a classic Spanish tapas and wine bar. Easy walk to Prado, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and surrounded by great shopping and restaurants.

We just returned from having a wonderful stay at the Madrid Iberostar Hotel in the Gran Via neighborhood.

As busy as the area can be, as soon as the French doors were shut, there was no discernible noise. Beds were large and very comfortable. Air conditioning was quiet, easily controlled and most ample. We slept so well! Our room was spacious with a sitting area with a loveseat/sofa and ottoman. There was a large wall mounted TV. Our bath had a nice double sink with plenty of storage space. Close to Puerta del Sol, the Paseo del Prado and cafes of Santa Ana.

There is a small pool on the roof of the 6th floor. Enough to quickly cool off and to enjoy sitting out in the sun. The rooftop bar on the 7th floor was very nice, with a mix of sunny and shaded sitting, with misting to help stay cool in the heat of the day. Greenery and nice plantings abound!

Breakfast was extensive with eggs cooked to order (including omelettes and tortilla de Espana). Cereals, fresh yogurts, cut fruit and berries, fresh squeezed juices, white and multi-grain toasts, ham, chorizo, salsiccia, manchego and queso fresco, ham and turkey were waiting for us each day, as well as wonderful croissants, pain de raisin, churros, sliced cake, muffins, doughnuts, along with real butter and preserves. Coffee easily tailored to one's preferences ( con leche, cappuccino, black, cortado, etc.) as well as teas. Different plant- based milks. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant proper. Food was always being replenished. Hours from 7:00-10:30. Staff very helpful. One of the best breakfasts we've had! Additionally, bar service, tapas, restaurant and cafe meals at the downstairs dining venues.

The desk staff were more than accommodating, helping to arrange for tours, taxis and even COVID testing at a local lab 1 block away before our return flight to the US. They ( as well as housekeeping and dining staff) were always attentive, eager to help, courteous, friendly and professional . We were very impressed with the caliber and the consistency of all staff. Among all the many attributes of Iberostar, the quality of the staff may be it's best feature.

High recommendations for this wonderful hotel.
