The mess at the Amsterdam airport motivated me to find another way to return to England. More than one new article I read referred to “piles of luggage” that did not reach their destination. Hundreds of canceled flights. So, I decided to skip returning to Madrid in order to catch my flight from there. I booked a cabin on a ferry to Plymouth. Even though this was over a week in advance, this hotel would not refund me at all. To be fair, the free cancellation deadline was at the end of May, but the travel chaos had not yet come into focus. Should they have? I think they could have charged me one night and refunded me the rest. My points: be sure to build in maximum flexibility and avoid inflexible hotels like this.
Great property. Good location… walking distance to all attractions while also being slightly out of the centre. Good restaurants in the area. Wonderfully comfortable rooms, clean and modern and friendly staff - good value for money. Picked the hotel due to location to my meetings and enjoyed days off walking around the neighbourhood.
I recently stayed at One Shot 22 to celebrate my Birthday and my Daughter's Graduation. I rented two premium rooms. The photos of the rooms depicted a wrap around balcony. Upon arrival the A/C did not work. When I attempted to call the front desk no one picked up the phone. After a few failed attempts on trying to reach someone by phone I proceeded to go down to the lobby. The explained to the receptionist that the AC was not working and I attempted to call but no one had answered the phone. The receptionist stated that she heard the phone but was helping someone else so she could not pick up the phone. I was ok with that response. She then advised me that she was would turn on the AC from a master control station at the desk. I expressed my concern that I would not be able to adjust the AC directly from the room. The receptionist then stated to call the front desk if I want the AC adjusted. I believe this was unacceptable. I was exhausted from travelling that day and went to bed hoping I would not have an issue with the AC. The next day I went down to the front desk to express my dissatisfaction with the two premium rooms not having the wrap around balcony depicted in the room pictures. The receptionist argued that there were no such pictures in the room description. I should her copies of my reservations and asked her to go on their website to verify the pictures. Upon the receptionist viewing the images she apologized and stated there was only one room in the hotel with a wrap around balcony. The only reason I booked two premium rooms in this hotel was to be able to sit out on the balcony and relax after a long a day. I asked to speak to a manger. The receptionist stated there was no manger on site but provided with a phone number to the manager. I called and left a message. I went out for the day upon arrive the AC was not working again for the second time. I had to go back down to the lobby for the receptionist to activate the AC. Again, I requested to speak to manager. The receptionist reached out to the manager and left the manager a message to contact me. When the manager contacted me I expressed to her that the ONLY reason I booked the hotel was for the balcony overlooking a small park. Again I was advised they only had one premium room with a wrap around balcony. I alerted the manager that One Shot was misrepresenting the premium rooms by displaying photos of a wrap around balcony. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and stated that she would advise the marketing department of the images displayed. I asked for a discount because I felt I was paying a premium price but not receiving what One Shot portrayed in their Premium room images. I must be honest, the bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. The bathroom was showing it's age with the wallpaper peeling. My wife had a difficult time putting on her make up with the poor lighting over the vanity. I wasn't impressed with the limited breakfast onsite. The hotel was in a quiet location with only a short taxi ride away to all the major sites.…
This is an excellent boutique hotel. I would rate it well above “mid range,” it is upscale. The location is in Chamberi right at the Bilbao Metro stop. The staff are very professional, and all speak excellent English. Great food all within a walk. The neighborhood is great and is full of a mix of young professionals and younger families. It is not a loud street. The soundproofing is the best I have encountered in Europe. Room size is extraordinary by European standards. High quality fixtures. Beautiful building on a corner. I highly recommend this for business or leisure.
Good hotel +shower is amazing +loved the different pillows, slept very well +loved the granola at breakfast + location is pretty central -room is really small hardly room for two suitcases -no coffee or tea making set in the room. - airconditioning wasn’t working at the room Little room for improvement: an extra rubbish bin (or bigger one in the bathroom) The door of the refrigerator was opening in the opposite direction as the closet. It was hard to put a bottle in the fridge. Just make sure the fridge is opening in the same direction and I would have been a problem. A little bit more variation at the breakfast table would have been nice.
We stayed in Madrid for 3 nights at this hotel. The location was great, it was right outside the metro station Bilbao. It was only a few stops away from the centre. There were bars and restaurants near the hotel. The neighbourhood seemed busy and safe especially when walking around at night. Our room was small but clean and modern. All of the staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful.
We are very pleased with our choice of hotel in Madrid. It had a good central location and the girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The rooms were quite small but fresh and the bathroom was spacious.
Madrid was the first stop on our two week tour of Spain. The hotel was very nice, in a very pretty, safe neighborhood. The staff did whatever they could to accommodate us and were very friendly and helpful. The first day there we met David at the front desk and interacted with him a few times during our stay. He was wonderful. While we were within walking distance of all the sites we wanted to see, it would definitely be too far of a walk for anyone with restrictions.
The staff in the reception, location and the beds in this hotel was great, but it was not very clean or well maintained. Restaurant and bar closed. The glass in the elevator looked like it was not cleaned for a while, there was mold in the shower, and lot of dust on the floor molding and spider web in the roof. The whole hotel could be great if they did a real all round cleaning on a regular basis.
Superbly situated hotel, making Madrid very accessible, close to great restaraunts and shops. Excellent travel links with a tube station literally outside. Lovely furnished rooms with great furniture and very comfortable. Very helpful and friendly staff on hand 24 hours a day. Highly recommended for a great trip to a great city!
