Great location! The Bilbao metro stop (Francisco de Rojas exit) is about 20 steps from the front door of the hotel. The hotel has a modern and simple design. The rooms are very basic, but clean, safe, and a good price. We don't spend our time in our hotel rooms and our main concerns are cleanliness and location. Our room faced a busy street but the room was quiet and we didn't hear noise from the street. Sarah was mainly on duty during our stay and she was awesome and very helpful. She's very approachable and helped us during our stay. The breakfast room was being remodeled so we didn't have breakfast at the hotel. There is a coffee shop (OSS Kaffe Madrid) across the street, which has wonderful coffee and a few pastries. There are also a number of restaurants in the area and also tapas bars. …
Great property. Good location… walking distance to all attractions while also being slightly out of the centre. Good restaurants in the area. Wonderfully comfortable rooms, clean and modern and friendly staff - good value for money. Picked the hotel due to location to my meetings and enjoyed days off walking around the neighbourhood.
My husband and I stayed at Hotel One Shot Luchana for four nights in October. From the moment we walked in the door, the place seemed odd. Everything about the hotel is functional but it lacks warmth and personality. If you just need a comfortable bed, a shower, and a basic breakfast, sure, stay here. It's conveniently located to restaurants and the metro. If you like a warm, hospitable atmosphere, an espresso machine in your room, a refrigerator that isn't so small you can't put anything in it, a few decorations, and welcoming staff, maybe stay elsewhere. This is NOT a boutique hotel. It's part of a chain. The hotel's photos don't accurately reflect the atmosphere, which is, like I said, purely functional.
We stayed one week in the 6th floor suite located under the dome of the building. I'll start with the positives... Nice neighborhood... removed from the chaos of the Gran Via, but a quick 20 minute walk away. Many interesting bars and restaurants on nearby streets. The Bilbao Metro station is just outside the front door. The room itself was spacious... comfortable bed, black out curtains and great shower. AC worked fine and the room had two terraces, one with a table and three chairs, although neither stylish or comfortable. Now the negative... The hotel in general, and our room specifically, looked drab, run down and in need of refurbishment... not what I expected from the photos on the hotel website. Our room had cheap laminate flooring and the small bathroom looked like something out of the 80's with mismatched tile and wallpaper... a wooden vanity, chipped in a few spots and no ventilation or fan to extract steam from the shower. The lounge area in our suite was dark and totally uninviting with what appeared to be leftover furniture from earlier decades. Although the suite featured two flatscreens, there were no English or French channels available (no CNN or BBC World News even). It took two trips down to reception and three hours for the front desk person to confirm this was the case... she had to check with co-worker and informed me that they indeed had one or two English channels, at heir other properties, but not at this one! We opted out of the breakfast plan... good thing because the room had no character and the offerings looked like your basic continental breakfast... no hot items on offer. I would not stay at this hotel again!…
I recently stayed at One Shot 22 to celebrate my Birthday and my Daughter's Graduation. I rented two premium rooms. The photos of the rooms depicted a wrap around balcony. Upon arrival the A/C did not work. When I attempted to call the front desk no one picked up the phone. After a few failed attempts on trying to reach someone by phone I proceeded to go down to the lobby. The explained to the receptionist that the AC was not working and I attempted to call but no one had answered the phone. The receptionist stated that she heard the phone but was helping someone else so she could not pick up the phone. I was ok with that response. She then advised me that she was would turn on the AC from a master control station at the desk. I expressed my concern that I would not be able to adjust the AC directly from the room. The receptionist then stated to call the front desk if I want the AC adjusted. I believe this was unacceptable. I was exhausted from travelling that day and went to bed hoping I would not have an issue with the AC. The next day I went down to the front desk to express my dissatisfaction with the two premium rooms not having the wrap around balcony depicted in the room pictures. The receptionist argued that there were no such pictures in the room description. I should her copies of my reservations and asked her to go on their website to verify the pictures. Upon the receptionist viewing the images she apologized and stated there was only one room in the hotel with a wrap around balcony. The only reason I booked two premium rooms in this hotel was to be able to sit out on the balcony and relax after a long a day. I asked to speak to a manger. The receptionist stated there was no manger on site but provided with a phone number to the manager. I called and left a message. I went out for the day upon arrive the AC was not working again for the second time. I had to go back down to the lobby for the receptionist to activate the AC. Again, I requested to speak to manager. The receptionist reached out to the manager and left the manager a message to contact me. When the manager contacted me I expressed to her that the ONLY reason I booked the hotel was for the balcony overlooking a small park. Again I was advised they only had one premium room with a wrap around balcony. I alerted the manager that One Shot was misrepresenting the premium rooms by displaying photos of a wrap around balcony. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and stated that she would advise the marketing department of the images displayed. I asked for a discount because I felt I was paying a premium price but not receiving what One Shot portrayed in their Premium room images. I must be honest, the bed and pillows were VERY comfortable. The bathroom was showing it's age with the wallpaper peeling. My wife had a difficult time putting on her make up with the poor lighting over the vanity. I wasn't impressed with the limited breakfast onsite. The hotel was in a quiet location with only a short taxi ride away to all the major sites.…
This is an excellent boutique hotel. I would rate it well above “mid range,” it is upscale. The location is in Chamberi right at the Bilbao Metro stop. The staff are very professional, and all speak excellent English. Great food all within a walk. The neighborhood is great and is full of a mix of young professionals and younger families. It is not a loud street. The soundproofing is the best I have encountered in Europe. Room size is extraordinary by European standards. High quality fixtures. Beautiful building on a corner. I highly recommend this for business or leisure.
Good hotel +shower is amazing +loved the different pillows, slept very well +loved the granola at breakfast + location is pretty central -room is really small hardly room for two suitcases -no coffee or tea making set in the room. - airconditioning wasn’t working at the room Little room for improvement: an extra rubbish bin (or bigger one in the bathroom) The door of the refrigerator was opening in the opposite direction as the closet. It was hard to put a bottle in the fridge. Just make sure the fridge is opening in the same direction and I would have been a problem. A little bit more variation at the breakfast table would have been nice.
We stayed in Madrid for 3 nights at this hotel. The location was great, it was right outside the metro station Bilbao. It was only a few stops away from the centre. There were bars and restaurants near the hotel. The neighbourhood seemed busy and safe especially when walking around at night. Our room was small but clean and modern. All of the staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful.
We are very pleased with our choice of hotel in Madrid. It had a good central location and the girls at the front desk were very nice and helpful. The rooms were quite small but fresh and the bathroom was spacious.
Madrid was the first stop on our two week tour of Spain. The hotel was very nice, in a very pretty, safe neighborhood. The staff did whatever they could to accommodate us and were very friendly and helpful. The first day there we met David at the front desk and interacted with him a few times during our stay. He was wonderful. While we were within walking distance of all the sites we wanted to see, it would definitely be too far of a walk for anyone with restrictions.
