Had a very comfortable stay here with my husband, location couldn't of been better right in the middle of grand via, five minute walk to most amenities. The room itself was airy , comfortable, nice bed hot shower, clean and great view. The staff couldn't of been any friendlier and minding our luggage the day we were flying home on...

It is a nice hostel on the 5th floor of an older building. Room is okay. Small shower with a toilet abd seperate sin in the room but enough. Tip: a lamp above the mirror would be nice. For us ladies it is easier with make up etc. Prices early November are high compared to dates later in November. Almost...

My wife and I stayed at Hostal Main Street for a total of eight nights during a ten-day holiday, using it as a base for seeing Madrid and taking day-trips to other historic towns and cities within easy reach by train. In the middle of our stay, we went away for two nights in Salamanca, and the staff kindly stored...

This is a very small hotel in a fantastic location. This was our first visit to Madrid and we could not have found a better place to stay, the rooms are small but clean and quiet and for a city break gives you everything you need. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, giving us maps and tips for sightseeing,...

We were very dubious when we approached this hotel. The reviews were great but somehow we weren't convinced- it being on the 5th floor of a crowded and dowdy-looking building. But! Give it credit- it was clean and Antonella behind the tiny desk could not have been more helpful or nice. It's bang in the middle of the city so...

Good location near Callao metro station, bars, restaurants, shows, cinemas, and shopping centers. Friendly staff, small rooms but clean. Nice view from the balcony to Plaza del Callao and Gran Via. By mistake, Gaby charged us twice for one night stay when we check-in. She apologized and credit us back.

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
