We had a room overlooking the monument from a large picture window. The staff were very helpful and the location is excellent right opposite the Prado. While the room was small - it was comfortable and met our needs. Try the restaurant downstairs for fantastic tapas - unfortunately we didn't try it till our last night in Madrid. We had...

A very good hotel option (4*) at a super location. Very close to all city's attractions and of course opposite to the magical Prado museum. Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean rooms and public areas, ample and convinient bathroom. The normal rooms are small, so you'll be asked to spend 30-70 euros more per night for a more spacious...

Room was small and lacked the niceties of a coffee machine etc. My biggest issue however was noise. I was on the seventh floor and am not sure if it was a corridor staff used to get somewhere but there was always people talking and walking past etc. With a marble floor this also echoed and the most annoying part...

The hotel is in an excellent location for exploring Madrid and it's treasures. The rooms are well appointed and try to get a room over looking the square for a fabulous view. The staff are very friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast choices are extensive and delightfully presented. All in all the best hotel in Madrid,...

This hotel is across the street from the Prado. The facilities are outstanding. Great breakfast. get a room with an outside view which may be an upgrade for 12-13 Euros per night. The workout room has a great 360 viewon the top floor. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This is where I would stay again when in Madrid....

Can't beat its location across road from Prado. Parking is difficult though 2 indoor garages very close by. Room was comfortable though not very large but not real tight like some hotels . Bathroom very modern. Never tried the restaurants. Good value especially for location near museum, Retiro park and Tapas row on Calle de Jesus just a block away.

The location of the hotel is superb, right across the street from the Prado and within easy walking distance of other sights and two different metro stations. The staff was helpful and professional and the rooms and bathrooms are well appointed.

Booked this hotel as it was suggested by a work colleague from Madrid. Couldn't have picked a better location. Unfortunately when we got our taxi at the airport and asked for NH Paseo del Prado, he took us to the one further along the road; but as it was a lovely day we just walked back. We arrived about 11:00...

As usual in Europe the rooms are small. Traveling alone it was perfect for me. It would have been tight but doable for two. If you are with a family be sure you reserve a room understanding the size. The bathroom I had was nicer than the room itself. Great shower with a rainshower head. No problem with hot water....

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
