Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.

This is a great small hotel. The staff is extremely pleasant and accommodating. My room was large, almost like a small apartment. The shower was great. Good location near museums. Highly recommend this place.

The place is very accessible to the Metro and to local shops. We really appreciated lending us the Metro Card that we didn't need to buy one while roaming the city. Coffee, tea, water and juices are free during the entire stay. Room is spacious and neatly designed. Staff are friendly with their generous suggestions about roaming the city. I highly recommended the hotel.

I can’t recommend this hotel more highly. It was centrally located, had lovely clean rooms and we were provided with a free WiFi dongle to use whilst sightseeing, for the duration of our stay. Jessica on reception was just gorgeous and so helpful. She let us check in early as our room was vacant and offered us breakfast on the day of checkin. I would love to stay here again and highly recommend this boutique hotel to anyone travelling to Madrid for business or pleasure.

An Australian couple in our fifties, we were initially a little concerned that this small hotel seemed to be in a somewhat sketchy area of Madrid. It was a 10-15 min walk to our meeting point for a tour so no dramas, and there are restuarants nearby. The staff were great, and the room was large and nicely decorated. It also included a small balcony which I always enjoy. It's a nice touch when upon check-in you're advised that tea, coffee, juices, etc., are available, and complementary, in the small dining room anytime you like. Sweet! We didn't avail ourselves of breakfast but it looked pretty reasonable for 8 euro. All in all, recommended 😁
