I found the room very comfortable and quiet, even though the hotel is located very close to Sol, on a busy, touristic street. The rates are very reasonable, especially when comparing with other hotels in central Madrid. More attention could be given to details. For example, the wardrobe was not well fitted.

This hotel is good value compared to many 3 star hotels I have stayed in around Europe. The front of house staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and a good standard for this class of hotel. The location is excellent for central Madrid.

Small room with a giant cockroach. We were pretty unhappy and told the front desk. Took her a while to decide what to do so I suggested a room change, preferably to something larger, and also suggested the she consider a refund.

The hotel was very reasonably priced, extremely well located and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms seemed to have been recently updated and the bathroom was clean, spacious and modern. Our only complaint would be the smell of food coming in through the window almost anytime of the day, probably from one of the many food places... More

perfect location between metro stops sol and opera. We, myself and my little dog, stayed there for 5 nights. This is the first ever hotel that really stood up for the words "pet-friendly". They had a sign/picture in the elevator, but my big excitement came when entering the room. There stood 1 water bowl and one pet-bed on the floor! Not only I felt at home but my... More

It's a good hotel if thinking about the cost benefit ratio, well located and with nice rooms. Despite being in one of the busiest streets of Madrid (Calle Arenal), which leads from the Plaza del Sol to the Plaza de Opera, and in front of mythical nightclub Joy Eslava, the windows have soundproofing, which neutralizes the noise and lets you... Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
