The room was a decent size and clean. It's great for the value. Our beds were very comfortable. Our room faced the inside, so it was very quiet at night. The bathroom was tight but clean. We were very well rested. The location's great. It's walking distance to everything. I'd definitely stay here again.

Staff is very nice and welcoming, The bathroom is tiny but very clean. Sometimes it can be noisy because of the street but it is not that disturbing. Location is excellent just am inute away from Grand Via and every "must see" thing is in a walking distance.

I leery if this place could really offer a hotel experience (costing twice as much) for a hostel price (where you don't have a private bathroom)... but it did! It's basic and it's somewhat cramped, but sure enough you get a clean room, a comfy bed, and your own bathroom and shower. For my 2 solo nights in Madrid, it...

Small hostel, centrally located in Chueca, very close to the Gran Via and metrostation. Very friendly and helpful owners, lots of bars and restaurants close by. Great beds, no noise from the street. Bathrooms are a bit small, but everything is there.

Very good value for money and has all the basics you need: comfortable bed, on-suite bathroom, with a good shower, free wifi , comfortable bed and it is clean, including the bedding which is often where other budget hotels seem to go wrong. As a lone female traveller I felt safe and comfortable at Chelo hotel. One tip on the...

Excellent location in the vibrant part of the city. Hospitality was on the very high level. I stayed in tiny room, but clean and quiet. It is safe, tidy and room away from home type of the place. Don't expect too much, but it is a really interesting place to stay- for the price that you will pay it is...

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
