The hotel is situated in the heart of Madrid near the Puerta del Sol. There is pretty much anything you need within walking distance. You can get to the Golden Triangle of Art in about 20 minutes. The Royal Palace of Madrid is a 15-minute walk from the hotel. Gran Via street with shops, bars and beautiful buildings is close...

Centrally located near Sol subway station, and on a bustling shopping street, this is a really convenient base for exploring the main sights of Madrid. Unfortunately for us we hadn't counted on the noise. We had a 3rd floor room facing the side alley, and even on a very wet Saturday night, the voices shouting outside bars until 4am kept...

Hotel is very centrally located, rooms are clean, not large but big enough. Elevator, air conditioning and wifi all worked well. Staff were very helpful, first night our room was right above the street and it was very noisy. When we complained and asked for a room change we were given a room at the back on a higher floor,...

If you want to stay in the middle of everything in Madrid and want a fair price and clean good room this is the place! Some of rooms have small balconies overlooking Calle Montera, you will get the vibe of the city. Staff are polite and kind and you are close to everything.

Fantastic location in the center of the city, close to all the shopping and shops. Short walk away from the Plaza de la Puerta del Sol, the Plaza Mayor and all the other main attractions (via subway station Sol if needed). I did all the tours via walking around. Staff was helpful and accommodating which is a plus. Rooms are...

I had a double room that consisted of two twin beds. The room was simple with a closet and desk and mini frig. The bathroom was well equipped. Our room was serviced daily but the maid kept turning off the A/C and opening the window. Which in the dead of summer is not a good idea. The front lobby is...

This hotel is great if you like to be in the middle of party action. Thus, it is noisy at night, especially on weekends. But if you are out there - who cares? Clean, comfortable beds, nice staff, close to Gran Vía and Puerta del Sol - and to amazingly many shoe stores. Loved the place! Located in a pedestrian...

A very solid mid-range hotel in central Madrid - right by Puerto de Sol. Location is excellent. Room was clean and spacious - and we had a family room with 4 beds! Price was great and included our breakfast. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would happily stay here again. Thank you!

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
