I stayed at the Siete Islas for four nights from August 10-14. The hotel is excellent, for many reasons. It’s perfectly located by Gran Via but is just to the north in the Malasaña area, which is absolutely great. I’ve been here several times before and the hotel has been redesigned and redecorated over time and is stylish and contemporary.... More

We really enjoyed our time in Madrid and staying at 7 Islas Hotel. It is very stylish and well decorated with spacious and well appointed rooms. We were in a great part of town with plenty of restaurants, bars and shops around. Walking to all the major sights was easy and the Gran Via metro station was a 2min walk... More

Very modern and clean. The room is very spacious and the restroom is very big. We asked for extra toles and in less than 3 minutes they brought them for us. I´ll stay here again. Close to city center and gay life.

This hotel is 1/2 block from the Sol Metro station, making it easily accessible to the entire city. Close to theatres, and close to Chueca neighborhood, there is plenty of shopping, eating, and drinking to be found within steps of the hotel. It's a modern-feeling hotel, with a wide open lobby, lovely staff, comfortable seating, and a bar/restaurant. Although our... More

The location of this hotel was great since it was close to the metro. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is going through upgrading the rooms, is my understand, but when I stayed there the bed was extremely cheap and uncomfortable.

Airport transfer (arranged by hotel) perfect, arriving late evening and pleasantly met by friendly lady on the reception desk - actually a large wooden table in a huge reception area. Stayed in a 6th floor suite with a huge bed with a patio the size of a football field. Great bathroom and all spotlessly clean. I walked the area which... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
