Very conveniently located hostal, within walking distance to Prado Museum, Reina Sofia, Plaza Mayor, Sol or a Metro station. Many restaurants just step away. Clean rooms, not too spacious, with small bathroom - just ok for a short stay. Good breakfest in a small place 100 m away .Wifi was availible only on mornings and evenings.

The title sums it. For the price it's rare to find such quality traits. The bed was really comfortable, most likely foam. The bathroom had a large shower unlike many of the places we've stayed in till now, so that was a pleasant surprise. The complementary kettle and tea/coffee really helped us settle in that night. The staff were super...

Stayed in this hostal for a week in october. Main advantage is its location: five minutes of walk and you are on Puerto del Sol. For the whole week that we stayed in Madrid, we practically didn't have to use public transportation, because all the best things to see are situated relally close to this hostal. Breakfast was served in...

We've been here on 2014 and we were happy to stay in this hostal. The rooms are simple and clean. It's located in the city centre so you can walk easily to some main attractions and there is a metro line closely. We highly recommend it!

Ideally located in Atocha . Metro stations Atocha and Anton Martin nearby. Train station 10 minutes on foot. Taxis 30 mins from airport. Short walks to Plaza Major and De Sol and amenities. Lovely staff. Clean, basic, quiet room. My partner and I arrived by taxis. Not sure if there is a facility for car parking. The area is quite...

We stayed two nights at this hostel. It was very centrally located (about 3 blocks from the Plaza Mayor), and about 1 block from the metro station. It is located in a safe area, with lots of good restaurants and shops close by. You can easily walk to the Plaza Mayor, La Latina, el rastro, Lavapies, and important Madrid sights...

This hotel is very well located near major sites and the metro. The rooms are fine, albeit a little basic. The wifi didn't work in my room. The bathroom is tiny but all you need. A little irritating to have to pay to use the safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
