Brilliant location, very pleasant staff, with perfectly adequate rooms. Had room 109, which is at the rear, and during the night is absolutely silent. Twin room, small TV, all UK or USA made programs can play in original language if you can handle the remote , a small bath with shower over, heater/cooler in the bedroom. Good price.

Stayed here for a single night. Check-in and out was very easy with very friendly staff. Helpful to find interesting visits around the area. Location is great in the center of the city. Lots to see and do within walking distance. The room I had was quite small, but enough for a nights stay. No English channels on the TV,... More

The hotel staff are excellent, they are so friendly and helpful. The room is cleaned to a high standard with fresh towels and bedding every day. The only problem with this hotel is the nightclub a few doors away, during the week it's quite noisy but come the weekend you are lucky to get a few hours sleep with all... More

This is a good budget non-chain European-style hotel. Obviously you're not going to have a Hilton-type experience here, but provided expectations are correctly set, it's quite satisfactory. Very central location, couple of minutes from the metro, Staff speak decent English. Room was clean and comfortable; hot water supply & pressure good. WiFi worked fine. Breakfast buffet was rather meager and... More

We stayed in San Lorenzo several years ago and stayed again in April 2015. We did not regret! Staff is nice and helpful, room clean, bright, spacious (although the wardrobe could be bigger), WIFI free, good connection . Interior of the room was unusual (pillars and stone wall), so if you are looking for stylish and trendy hotel, this could... More

The room was clean and nice, the personnel was very friendly, and the price was right. Had a very pleasant stay at Madrid. The hotel is located at a very central place with Puerta del Sol, Gran Via and Calle Fuencarral within walking distance. There are plenty of subway stations nearby, so it is easy to travel anywhere from here.... More

Hotel location is in the city center so it's perfect for city-breaks and the price is reasonable price but don't expect anything more. The interior is renovated recently so it's quite nice. We got the smallest and darkest room (318) next to the service room, despite it was not faced to the street due to the service facilities (washing machine,... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
