This hotel is right next to Sol - in the heart of everything without even needing to move! I stayed there two separate times. The room was lovely and clean in both. The bathrooms and showers were great. The downside was that the first room was closer to the elevator and people were so loud (not much hotel can do if people are loud, but really hard to sleep). The second room was more distant and much better. The breakfast was delicious and staff were friendly.
Arrived at Hotel Europa in the afternoon, check in was swift and straightforward. The room was way bigger and nicer than I expected, I had a balcony overlooking Sol Madrid. It's a great location, with many restaurants / bars / clubs and sights of interest nearby. The bed was honestly perfect, and I wish I had that mattress at home! The only negative was that I turned the 'cool' air setting on, assuming it would be aircon. It turns out this just activates the heating. So I woke up in a bit of a sauna one eve!
A better-situated hotel would be hard to find. This one overlooks the iconic Puerta Del Sol with all its energy and action. A Metro station is just steps away and it’s a very pleasant walk to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and the bustling San Miguel Market. There are numerous tapas bars, eateries and shopping opportunities on the many adjacent streets to this hotel. Hotel Europa offers excellent guest service.During my first night’s stay I encountered a problem with an outside ad light constantly blinking and penetrating my room’s darkness. I asked for a change and friendly host Pedro allowed me to inspect two available rooms. I couldn’t have been happier with my choice as it offered two balconies allowing much fresh air and light to enhance the room’s atmosphere. Details like a lighted mini-fridge, spotlights over the bed, in-room coffee and a shower with hand-hold spray option just add value to this hotel. I might add that my bed was very comfortable with just the right amount of warmth from the sheets and substantial bed spread. The hotel’s attached restaurant opens at seven and has table and counter seating and a decent breakfast menu. I spent four nights here and relished my very positive experience.…
Fantastic location, right in the heart of Madrid. Close to most of the major tourist sites and facilities that the city has to offer. Very convenient for the metro. There was a café/bar attached to the hotel which made it very convenient to get a meal or drink. The room was fairly sound proof but because I had a room on the first floor that overlooked the street with Puerta de Sol nearby, there was constantly street noise. The Wi-Fi was a little weak in my room and I had to sit in reception to get a decent signal. Also as the hotel is based in a pedestrianised area my drop off/pick up point for my taxi was a few streets away.
Everything you need for a stay in Madrid, perfect location and great staff. Was there for 3 nights and it was perfect, the room was a good size and the bathroom completely renovated, great water pressure and hot water in a second. The location is unbeatable, great value for your money, from now on Hotel Europa will be our hotel in Madrid.
