Booked to stay at this hostel for two nights, but only ended up staying for the first night because I woke up with 5 massive bed bug bites on my arm. Given the pattern of the bites and the fact that I was bitten overnight, it was obviously bed bugs. This hostel is pretty dingy and not well maintained so... More

A couple of friendly staff . One member hardly speaks any spanish. Unfortunately i have very negative experience while i was there for 17 nights. First problem encountered while i was there, a lady has her new xperia phone stolen under her pillow. Then i heard the previous week another visitor had his/her camera stolen. Really friendly atmosphere. Very helpful staff. Very clean. Great location in the heart of Chueca. Basic amenities. Shared bathroom is a bit cramped. Generous amount of food for breakfast. Really enjoyed my stay.

There wasn't much that was good (or bad) about this hostel outside of the location. It was right in the middle of Chueca, which was a fantastic neighbourhood and close to the Gran Vía and other great attractions. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I did have a free upgrade... More

This is a great hostel in the sense of location (close to la gran via, plaza de cibeles, puerta del sol, plaza mayor, prado...), you don't even have to use public transportation. Even though it doesn't look like much, it's clean, there's free wifi and breakfast is included. And also, if you are looking for a place only to leave your... More

The food is delicious and the people in charge treat the guests nicely. It's not cold at night in here, and I was here during the beginning of March. Unfortunately, the door of my room and the beds grinded loudly with the slightest touch. It was hard to sleep. I don't know if it's OK to complain about how they're... More

Our room was tiny and had 7 beds crammed in with some lockers. We slept in the living room that night as the others in our room were ill and the staff were cool about this which was great. Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
