I booked this place on booking.com and unfortunately wasn't able to fulfil my trip so therefore I asked for a refund. The Hotel totally refused and I wasted my money with them. The management were very rude when I asked and said it was part of the booking conditions so be aware when booking with this hotel.

Dear customer, we feel its about valuation. We would like to explain that you made a non-refundable reservation, benefited from a discount with only one condition, not to cancel; on the other hand in booking offer both normal rate without discount options with the possibility of cancellation and 25% discount if two nights with the condition not to cancel staying....

The key thing to remember is that there is a difference between hotels and hostels. I know that it seems an obvious point to make, but if you book here expecting a hotel you'll be disappointed. However, as a hostel, it's a bargain, in a great location. Just off Calle de Las Huertas, it's superbly located for bars and restaurants...

I had stayed at the san antonio between 11th to 15 September. It's location is its USP, just too good and centrally located. Every important landmark of Madrid is within walking distance. As per price that's the best private room you can find in that location. The elder lady who manages things is amazing and friendly. Me voy a volver,...

A quiet, lovely little gem in one of Madrid's best areas, the Plaza Santa Ana. Clean, comfortable and run by very sweet, helpful people. The price, for the area it is in, is just terrific. I stay there now whenever I go to Madrid and highly recommend it to anyone. Victor Distler Paris

Although the people were nice not much English is spoken. Also I had a room on the street side and it was very noisy late into the night. Be prepared to walk a lot of stairs as the property is on the third floor. All in all the stay was pleasant enough for the price.

This hostel is an fifth level in a building in Calle León. Is perfect for 2 or 3 nights. In weekend could be noisy, but Monday to Wednesday is quiet. Staff is nice and rooms clean. The hostel is in downtown, for that reason all places are two steps. Atocha Station, most important terminal in Madrid is just 10 minutes...

We stayed here when we returned to Madrid to catch our flight home. We decided to stay here rather than the place we stayed in when we arrived so we could have a look at something different (the first place was really good). This hostal was walkable from Atocha station (even though uphill). The place was easy enough to find....

I stayed one night here, because I wanted a downtown Madrid hotel. The hostel is very central and it is a pretty nice neighborhood, very close to a metro station and in the center. It has many breakfast options next door, and the hostel is a good location to see downtown. However, basic, and only the most necessary equipment there,...

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Huertas
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
